Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I'm looking for some information regarding a dentistry clinic in Chicago, specifically around the Brooklyn, Savannah, Lincoln Park, or Chelsea areas... does anyone have any recommendations they could share? John 😉
F***ing hell!!!! in Women's Health ·
I’m still two days away from my period... and I’ve already started getting those nasty breakouts. 😢 It’s honestly the worst.
F***ing hell!!!! in Women's Health ·
Man, I was dealing with this for about six or seven months straight, but things seemed to settle down quite a bit over the summer 😁 now... what’s throwing me off is that I don't have that intense itching or anything like what I felt during a major yeast infection breakout 😁 ...but after I pee, I still get this sensation like something is just "leaking," right from the vaginal opening—pardon my bluntness—and I have this increased white discharge. It feels like there's more going on down there, even if those classic, invasive symptoms aren't really present... so I'm feeling a little confused about whether I should actually seek treatment or just let it be... hmm...
so does using a tampon work okay in this situation? 😉
Does anyone know if there’s an online database or a list of psychiatric medications—things like antidepressants, hypnotics, antipsychotics, etc.—that works here in the States? I need to study up for an exam, and honestly, I'm drawing a blank on where to find reliable info online, other than just walking into a local CVS 😁...

Sandra King86 said:P.S. I actually asked a psychologist in my family if it was even possible for people in modern care facilities to treat patients this way today, and they told me, "That's science fiction—at least in the Western world. That hasn't happened since the Freudian era." 😁
I think she was referring to the 1970s as a major turning point for ethical standards in mental health treatment.

😉
I'm just not sure how much that horrific treatment relates to the changes in the 1970s, though perhaps it’s because homosexuality isn't even classified as a disorder in the diagnostic manual anymore...

Regarding those kinds of treatments, the approach to mental illness really began to shift toward the end of the 18th century. Before that, if you look at something like the Salem witch trials, the way people were treated was incredibly inhumane and cruel. I don't even need to mention how they would mandate castrations on the mentally ill to prevent "tainted seeds" from being passed on, or how patients were kept in prisons in shackles, living only on bread and water. One of their methods involved dousing people with a hundred buckets of ice-cold water a day. And when that wasn't enough, they would try to "spin" them in the dark 😁 —basically, they thought spinning someone until they were dizzy would calm mania; they would spin these poor souls until they were incapacitated. Not to mention how they were used as spectacles, basically monsters put on display in town squares...

Well, all of that slowly started changing from the late 18th century through the 19th. The real turning point would be the move made by the French physician Philippe Pinel, who was the first to actually unchain patients and advocate for a more humane approach. Things have generally improved since then. For instance, up until the 20th century, they were still using bloodletting, believing it led to recovery 😎 And then eventually there were electric shocks and lobotomies... there was a lot of everything back then..

I haven't seen the movie The Gap, so I don't know exactly what kind of treatment the patients receive in the film, but given how much stupidity exists in the world, I wouldn't be surprised if psychiatric patients are still being mistreated somewhere (though obviously nothing quite as drastic as in the past...). There's just a lot of things out there..

granitenomad17 said:You hit the nail on the head. I think the laboratory opens around 7 or 9, but if you can find a private lab nearby for a simple test, you should probably go there because the Siget Community Health Center is always a total madhouse.

That sounds great.😉
Since I don't have any private options, I guess I'll just have to use that one. I'll probably show up around 6:00 and just camp out in front of the laboratory😁...Do you think I should just head out right now instead?😁
Robert Williams18 said:If you're starting from "old Chicago," just cross over the Freedom Bridge into New Brooklyn and head down Holjevac Avenue. Once you hit that big intersection near the Fairgrounds where it meets Dubrovnik Avenue, take the next right onto Pomorac Alley. You'll see the Siget Community Health Center right there on your left.

Thanks so much; if I'm following correctly, I should head toward that big intersection by Inna's building, then follow the direction toward V. Gorice and turn right?
I'm actually coming from the New Brooklyn area near Jarun... so hopefully, I can find my way...
Does anyone happen to know the hours for the laboratory for blood work😁? (Just figured I'd ask that while I'm at it.) 😉
I was sent over to Vinogradski with my referral, and I had to pre-order everything, which meant waiting a full month. Then, right after that month passed, my period ended up being a week late, so I couldn't even get it done because they need the blood drawn on the second or third day of the cycle. I ended up doing nothing at all... what a nightmare.
Could someone please provide me with the exact coordinates for the Siget Community Health Center?
Thank you so much!

War of the Worlds!!!
I am really looking forward to this..
Even if Tom Cruise is starring in it, it doesn't matter; I'll definitely be there to see this spectacle on the big screen! Does anyone know who the director is??

a 😁 honestly... why wouldn't we just switch things up now? If a doctor is seeing patients, I really don't see what the big deal is about moving over.
You head down there, ask if they're accepting new patients, and they say yes... then you just file a request to change physicians, take that down to the local health department or social services—honestly, I can't quite remember the exact office name— 😁 and once you grab your old medical records and hand everything over to the new doctor, you're all set!
What part of that doesn't seem right to me? 😁

Hmm... what do you mean by that? Well, yes, just a few days ago.

Just wanted to share that I 😉 booked an appointment with Dr. Doko over in the suburbs, and honestly, I am just so incredibly happy with how they handle everything; there was virtually no waiting at all, and the nurse was such a sweetheart—it’s such a relief to finally find a clinic that actually operates this way.
They’re still seeing patients, so if you’re looking for 😉
.
I don't know about you all, but I am just so fed up with those university clinics... especially since last time I sat there for a whole hour just to grab my file, and then the girl behind me had to wait another hour just to get her order processed!!! Good grief...

Down at the suburban clinic, they have these two separate drop boxes—one for exams and one for advice, referrals, or prescriptions—so you just pop your booklet in whichever one fits, sit down, and you won't be waiting for years, months, weeks, or even days, let alone hours!!! You actually get seen!!!

Seriously, they really deserve a lot of credit 😁

Yeah, I started out with daily habits too...🙄 So, my doctor mentioned that I really ought to start avoiding daily pads... and well, here we are.😎

Roger Ramos27 said:Honestly, everyone, this is just terrible. 😢 I’ve been struggling with this for over a year now... my gynecologist prescribed both vaginal suppositories and a cream, and I make sure to use only specific intimate washes when I shower, yet it absolutely refuses to go away!!!!!!!
It’s been weighing on my mind lately because things feel a bit off during intimacy; I feel like I’m too slippery for him, and he’s mentioned that he isn't really "feeling" me the way he used to. 😢
Sometimes, taking a few days to just step back and disconnect can be enough for everything to finally feel right again.
Honestly, it’s just exhausting... It really wears you down when you're just craving some normal, genuine intimacy.

Roger Ramos27, help is on the way. 😁
It’s all well and good to ask for help, I suppose... but honestly, my suitcase is practically overflowing with doctor visits, only to be met with the same old routine—just some prescription for vaginal suppositories and creams from the pharmacy.

Na forumu My doctor gave me this feedback, at least from my perspective: I need to go through a full microbiological workup—specifically swabs for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, mycoplasma, chlamydia, and digene—along with another urine culture and antibiogram, plus a gynecological exam using a vaginal ultrasound if possible. 🙂
I've been dealing with an extra layer of trouble lately with E. coli... and then there's the occasional bout of Candida on top of everything else.
My point was simply that you might want to try conducting some thorough searches and looking into all the possibilities instead of just heading down to the pharmacy for the NEXT box of vaginal suppositories, because it might not be a simple case of Candida after all... good luck!
As soon as I find a doctor who’s actually willing to take me in and give me a hug, I'll get all of that taken care of.

Lisa Richardson8 said:I know they take people at Siget, mostly all female doctors, there are four of them.
From what I’ve seen, none of the doctors I know (like Dr. Magor or Dr. Dropulic) have turned away a patient unless they weren't on the schedule. You really do need an appointment, that's true, but they will see you...

Good luck!👋

Thank you so much!
I’m just not entirely sure where Siget is located—that’s part of the new development in the city, right?
Could you please help me out by explaining exactly where the health clinic is situated so I don't end up wandering around too much.
Thanks again 😉 👋

I was wondering if anyone could recommend or point me toward a gynecologist's office in the city that accepts Medicaid?

Thanks so much!😉

Andariel said:Is she taking over for Tarlea now? Man, those doctors on the fourth floor seem to be rotating constantly.🙄

I feel like I’ve already addressed a question like this once before... but yeah, Dr. Gregov is practicing there... though, personally, I wouldn't recommend her.
I’ll probably head over tomorrow to pick up my medical records, because honestly, the sheer level of indifference they allow themselves there is becoming unbearable.
I mean, the woman seems fine enough if you actually have an appointment, you wait your month for the slot, and then everything goes okay, I suppose..
Last time, I waited an entire month, even though I had been there a month prior dealing with an infection—it wasn't considered urgent enough back then. When I finally showed up for my scheduled time, the woman didn't seem to realize I was on the list; she kept lecturing me about how I wasn't an appointment patient, acting like I was wasting her precious time by asking basic questions or anything like that... it's like if you don't have a formal appointment, you simply don't exist to them. For instance, I went in today because that same infection has flared up again, the one that supposedly was "all fine" back when I was last seen... I sat there waiting for two and a half hours, and I never even got called in. Instead, they just handed me my file with a little note from the nurse that said "NOT AN APPOINTMENT PATIENT," which apparently serves as a signal to the doctor on how she should treat me..
And it looks like I won't be able to see anyone tomorrow either, since the schedule is completely packed with people who actually booked ahead. There's no point showing up at 7:00 AM because all the slots are taken, and showing up at 1:00 PM near the end of the day is useless because, well... you can guess... it's the end of the shift, and it's the same frustrating cycle every single week.

...not to mention that my mother passed away from breast cancer, and when I mentioned that and asked to get a breast ultrasound, she just waved me off. She told me not to be ridiculous and asked why I would even need that since I'm only 21 and it's too early... just endless nonsense like that..

Please, if any of you know of a gynecology clinic anywhere in the city that accepts patients under social insurance, let me know. I've been struggling with these issues for months because I made the mistake of going to a GP who prescribed the wrong medications (but that's a whole other story)... things that a specialist should have handled, yet I haven't been able to get an appointment for weeks..

Well, in that case... I wish you the best of luck, because you're certainly in a worse spot than I am.😢
