Thanks so much, Sam Jackson29! 😉 I'll be looking for that remedy as soon as I can; I just can't quite wrap my head around where "Old Vlaška" is, because while the name rings a bell, the location is completely slipping my mind.🙂

Walter Myers4 said:You can catch it through anything—oral, intestinal, or even skin contact—but fortunately, there's an easy way to fix it. You really need to see a doctor and make sure both partners get treated at the same time. It’s not worth trying to just smear some Canesten on yourself before sex and hoping for the best; honestly, using a good lubricant is a much better approach.

Everything you said remains true, but he didn't contract fungi anywhere—I’m telling you, that wasn't part of his infection... and regarding the other matter, actually seeing a doctor... trying to get an appointment at the University Health Center has become a total mission impossible. I spent hours waiting today and still didn't get seen, and tomorrow will likely be the exact same story where I don't get my turn... and it just keeps happening week after week, unless, of course, I book my slot a month in advance, then maybe I'll finally be able to see someone.
I don't have any specific news regarding private enterprises at the moment.😲 It’s honestly become a disaster... I'm planning to head out tomorrow to pick up my medical card and start hunting for a local clinic—any practice at all that will accept patients covered under social services. I just can't deal with these health issues anymore.😠

You see, it’s the truth... I think I’ve completely lost my mind. 😉
Wouldn't they be at risk for an oral infection then? 😁

Walter Myers4 said:Please, just tell her straight: if you're sleeping with your boyfriend while dealing with a candidiasis infection for any reason at all, isn't it just common sense that you might pass it to him? And I don't just mean physically—it’s more than that. You both really need to get treated together, because logically, you'll just keep passing it back and forth until your yeast infection becomes some kind of super-strain that's completely resistant to every cream on the market.🙄 👍

That’s true, everything you said holds up, except we use condoms absolutely every single time for protection and I just don't see how it could have passed to him... and even if it had, he would have shown symptoms, wouldn't he? But he didn't have any. 🙂

Roger Ramos27 said:Honestly guys, this is just awful. 😢 I’ve been fighting this for over a year now... My gynecologist prescribed vaginal suppositories and creams, and I make sure to use only specific intimate washes during my shower, and I absolutely refuse to let it go!!!!!!!
It really interferes with intimacy because everything feels too slippery, and it bothers my boyfriend too since he doesn't "feel" me the way he used to. 😢
Sometimes it seems to recede for a few days, and then during our first time back at it, everything just returns...
It’s HORRIBLE... It’s honestly killing me... I just want normal sex...

I’ve been dealing with this for five months now, too. It flares up and then settles down, but it won't stay away. During those first couple of months, I was strictly using suppositories and applying Plimycol for a while, but it just refuses to clear up. Intimacy can be quite painful for me, fairly often... though it isn't constant; there are weeks where it’s intense and weeks where it isn't, and all the symptoms seem to flare up right before and after my period... I don't know, I've been treating it this whole time and I’ve literally lost all willpower—has this happened to anyone else? I am seriously losing my mind... I’ve tried chamomile rinses and various medications, I haven't worn thongs for months, I try to avoid tight clothing, and I’m extremely diligent about hygiene... yet it still hasn't cleared up... my boyfriend hasn't had any symptoms, no redness or itching or anything, though I'm not entirely sure if he should have used Plimycol too... I'm heading back to the doctor this week... I am truly desperate, it feels like it has just turned into a chronic condition... I started having sex again a few months ago, though it didn't necessarily start then; maybe it actually started even before that, but sometimes I just blamed an uncomfortable feeling on my underwear and didn't pay much attention because as soon as I switched to cotton, that feeling would pass, and I really did wear thongs quite frequently... that’s definitely one of the causes... stress, and all that... it’s a disaster. 😢 Then comes avoiding sex altogether, and skipping oral every single time... yeah, health is the most important thing in any case, but you all know how much these little things can be so frustrating... I don't know... I've completely lost hope that things will get better, even though I know I haven't exhausted every single option; I kept hoping that regular medication and these lifestyle changes would finally break the cycle of infection and discomfort, but it’s still lingering... I don't know... it’s just this pure sense of learned helplessness; even if you were to apply electric shocks to me in a state where I could easily run from the cage, I think I would just stay standing in the same spot and endure them.... 😢
Haha, come on, don't just tear everything apart; there are some actual facts in here, and this part right here is the absolute truth 😁

Yeah... I assume you all have heard about this meningococcal outbreak going around the dorms...
And a young girl passed away yesterday..
If I recall correctly, someone mentioned that this isn't technically an epidemic since a few people usually fall victim to it every year... it just feels like what started as a few cases has turned into much more than that..😲

2. post 😁

So, this is why I decided to start this thread in the first place.

Now that you all know what’s been going on with Dr. Greg's clinic and everything... I was wondering if there is any gynecologist in the city who will actually see you right away if you're dealing with an issue, like an infection or something similar??

About a month ago, I went down to the student health center to see Dr. Greg's team and told them it was urgent, listing out all my symptoms... but the nurse just told me that "urgent cases" are only things like heavy bleeding or a few other specific things, and that I really needed to book an appointment instead... so I scheduled one for three weeks out, which is when I explained everything in detail above...
I went to my primary care doctor instead, and they prescribed some medication, and then... well, it seemed fine for a bit (obviously, after those three weeks passed), but then the infection flared right back up, I had to take more antibiotics, and it just keeps coming back... since yesterday, the problems have started all over again...

I won't go into the gritty details, because there isn't much point in that...

I can't go to my regular gynecologist for free under my current coverage, and honestly, I just want someone who will take my situation seriously and be compassionate about it, because it isn't normal to be dealing with these recurring symptoms every single month or two...

Please, if you have a good recommendation, let me know... I don't care if it's a private practice; I am more than willing to pay for the exam and the tests just to finally get this resolved...

Where can I go to get medical advice and an exam immediately?

Thank you so much 👋

placidmarlin35 said:Is anyone planning to see Dr. Marie Gregov at the university clinic?
People are saying she’s the only one still seeing patients there, so I was wondering what she’s actually like.👍 or 👎

thanks!

I actually had an appointment with her about two weeks ago.
I waited three weeks for the slot, and when I showed up at my scheduled time—though I don't think there was a nurse there, just her—things got a bit chaotic. I ended up waiting another hour... once I finally went in, the exam felt rushed, and I had quite a few questions. At one point, when I mentioned, "I just have one more thing to ask," she responded with, "Go ahead, but you've already exhausted me, and you weren't even on a scheduled appointment..." 😲 ??
That's when I realized why the whole experience felt so off from the start... 😢 ...(but honestly, I tried to be understanding because she probably was struggling with all the paperwork since there wasn't a nurse available, so I just quietly left..)

Overall, I wasn't satisfied; she seems fine during the actual exam itself, but that interaction...
👎
If you're looking for someone who is actually attentive, I'd suggest booking a formal appointment in advance...

On another note, she did run that swab test during the exam and told me that while something was present, it was receding—that an infection might flare up within 24 hours. Anyway, I'm still dealing with some issues, but I'll save that for another post..😢

Jerry Newman18 said:I wouldn't recommend him at all... when I saw him last year, he didn't even want to examine me properly; he refused to order an ovarian ultrasound and just insisted on blood work instead.
When I asked for a check-up, he just asked if my kidneys, heart, or liver were okay, and then told me I was perfectly healthy 😲 😲 👎
I told myself, "never again..."

I don't really understand what led you to decide you needed an ultrasound in the first place.
It seems like every woman here thinks she's a medical expert or knows everything about diagnostic tests. You might as well just buy your own ultrasound machine and do it yourself!!

That is just absolute madness..😲

I only just saw this reply now..

My dermatologist actually made the call and referred me to a gynecologist 🙄

😁 It’s obvious she’s being way too intense; honestly, it’s not even sane how she treats us, but I guess that’s just what happens when you're playing in the big leagues at our age 😉

She really ought to look into the whole science of sleep deprivation and chronic fatigue from a psychological perspective... it’s actually a fascinating field, and I notice so many people struggling through it without ever seeking out any real help

Megan Morales5 said:Try going without any coffee at all for just one week, and you'll find your own answer to the question asked above.

I play professional sports, and since we're currently in the middle of the season, my training tempo is a bit more intense right now.

As for coffee, I don't actually drink it to wake myself up, but I am genuinely curious about how it affects people who have made it a ritual to have a cup every single morning. Is it true that you get those splitting headaches if you skip your caffeine fix? And does coffee work similarly to medication, where after a certain amount of time on a specific dose, you need to increase it because your tolerance builds up or something like that?😉

Speaking from my own experience, back when I was in college, I never felt particularly exhausted; sure, I slept, but that kind of rest and the way I felt in the morning is worlds apart from how it feels now that I’m working. I don't mean to downplay what students go through, but falling asleep after spending a day surfing or finishing up some tasks and hitting a one-hour run in the evening just hits differently.

Ugh... unnecessary conclusion 🙄
Look, you really have to distinguish between mental fatigue and physical exhaustion, because personally, I'm not sure which one would wipe me out more.

And it's not like all students are just sitting around, either; my entire friend group consists of women who train at least seven times a week while keeping up with our studies, and waking up in the morning is still a total nightmare. After a particularly grueling workout, I can't seem to drag myself out of bed before 11:00 AM, no matter how much sleep I managed to get.

Then there's the whole coffee thing—for instance, I don't drink coffee first thing in the morning because a cold splash of water to the face wakes me up better than that; I usually save it for a break between classes or when I have a heavy study session ahead. Honestly though, I don't notice any real boost in alertness or concentration, so it feels more like a placebo effect to me 🙂

Does Red Bull actually help anyone 🙂? It doesn't do anything for me 😁 ...haha

And if you think about it, if you've been drinking the exact same dose of coffee every single day for five years, wouldn't you expect it to stop having any impact on how awake you feel in the morning?

(If I went a bit off-topic, my apologies 😁 )

It feels like this whole question was probably brought up by some kid going through pre-puberty...
someone who hasn't even experienced an erection yet.😈

Even if they are just entering puberty, you've obviously never been there yourself.🙄
A joke is fine, but this kind of belittling toward kids is just gross.👎
It's pointless.
Post-shave irritation issues in Health ·
I totally agree with what was said above. My partner deals with really sensitive skin that tends to get a bit oily, along with redness and those annoying bumps right after shaving. He’s managed to fix everything with just one single cream, though I’m honestly not sure which one it is 😁
. But he does use these specific aftershave creams that are alcohol-free; the one from Dove is definitely his favorite. You should give that a try—just stay away from any of those harsh creams or lotions 😉

Laura Roberts61 said:The room where my parents used to sleep was completely trashed when it came to radiation levels—several people checked it out—and after sleeping in those rooms for twenty years, they both ended up battling serious cancer and passing away.
It might just be a coincidence, or maybe it isn't.
😢

I am so sorry; unfortunately, I know exactly how you feel.😢

But I think it’s a bit of a stretch to jump straight to a "common sense" conclusion about the connection between those two things... saying radiation is definitely the sole cause of the tumor... I don't know, I'm certain radiation has a negative impact, but to say it's the only reason for the illness... there are always other factors at play.
Don't let the fear of radiation get to you; just go get a cat and try not to sleep in the same spot she does (just kidding a little).👋
