Jamie Newman40 said:So, basically, if it pleases them, they can just tolerate it. But what about the health of our children? Why isn't anyone speaking up about that?

That is precisely my point regarding the discrimination of one group over another.

If both cars and smoking are harmful to health, then both should be banned; otherwise, we're looking at pure discrimination. The only way a smoking ban wouldn't be considered discriminatory is if cigarettes were made illegal entirely, similar to Prohibition. I'd certainly enjoy watching that unfold...

Now you've gone too far with those silly comparisons.👎 What actual benefit does anyone get from smoking cigarettes?

Or why didn't you compare cigarettes to wood or coal-burning stoves?😱

Smokers have always discriminated against non-smokers...👎 so now you're just experiencing the discrimination yourselves.😬

Because where I live, it's actually required by law😁 so deal with it if you can't handle the truth😬

Richard Booth35 said:My sincere congratulations to everyone who has successfully quit smoking.
I have to admit, quitting wasn't easy for me. I spent a lot of time lying to myself and everyone else until that one decisive day when I took my pack and lighters, set them by the ashtray in two different places, and told myself that from this moment on, I was done. That happened on October 10, 1972. I went out to vote that afternoon, and I haven't taken a single puff since...

as if you knew I would be born the following year 🙂 and who wouldn't want someone like that... 😘

northernsailor said:well, what you guys are saying here is just terrible...
is it just me, or did someone actually insult my mother?🤔 ...don't judge others or lecture people on parenting, because you never know when you'll find yourself saying, "I was a perfect parent to my kid"... we all know that kind of talk is useless... and then they end up in crisis, blaming everyone else even though they followed every rule in the book...
right now, I'd be willing to go all the way to Siberia😬 ...and I suspect I'll feel the same way later...
and I truly hope that once I finally quit, I don't turn into some radical activist against it...

bye🙂

Lilly, please don't take this personally; I have no intention of insulting anyone's mother, as I believe they all just do their best...👍

It feels strange to me, because ever since I was a child, I've been choking on the smoke that you all seem to enjoy😕 so I wonder what kind of lungs God gave you, and why He gave me mine😕

ps. I'm not discriminating against smokers; feel free to go through twenty packs a day, just not where it affects those who can't stand it👍

Jeffrey Torres said:Back when I was a smoker, I always made sure to ask if anyone minded before lighting up. Nowadays, about 90% of the people I know couldn't care less. They just light up and immediately stub it out, sending all that nasty smoke right into a non-smoker's face. To them, it’s totally fine, even when they see someone visibly flinching to avoid the cloud... but hey, a cigarette still smokes where it stands.
That's why I don't visit certain friends anymore.
.

Can we finally agree on something here?👍

I honestly can't wrap my head around the logic of some smokers... it's like they either have something wrong with their brains or they think they own the air we breathe.😕 It makes no sense to me how mothers and daughters can smoke together without the mom ever stopping to think, "Wait, what kind of example am I setting by letting my child poison themselves?"🙄 😕

And another thing—has any single one of you smokers actually paused to wonder if the person standing next to you is a non-smoker who just hasn't had the chance to light up yet?😵

I suffer from allergic asthma, and I never really felt like I had my rights until the law finally stepped in and granted them to me.👍 At work, it wasn't just me struggling; there were people dealing with debilitating migraines and constant headaches because of the secondhand smoke. They practically had to live on Advil and whatever else they could find just to make it through the shift.😠 Now, gentlemen, JUSTICE is on our side.🙂

I can't wait for the day they tell you that if you want to smoke, you can go do it in 😂 Siberia.😉

Well, legally they have every right to come knocking on my door. If I'm smoking behind those doors while there's a child in the house, I'm polluting their air and exposing them to passive smoking... so here comes the social worker at the door...

Jamie Newman40 says
And you're actually okay with that?

As a mother, you should be the one deciding what’s best for your kid. There shouldn't be any government interference in your family life or your child's wellbeing.

Unfortunately, Jamie Newman40 isn't every mother, nor is she necessarily the model mother we should expect...🙄 sadly...
Have you ever looked into the biography of Richard Pryor? I mentioned him because he's a household name, and it's just heartbreaking to think about how someone should have stepped in for a child back then who was being handed cigarettes and Marijuana at only six years old.

A mother who truly knows what is good for her child and raises them accordingly HAS NO REASON TO FEAR THE LAW KNOCKING ON HER DOOR...👍
I highly doubt the government is generous enough to take over a child's upbringing just for the sake of funding...

People earn a significant amount of money working as Foster Parents, and believe me, you would be stunned if you saw the kind of children some mothers produce—kids who are already addicted from their very first breath. The struggles those children face are indescribable. If I were in charge, I wouldn't just be knocking on doors, I'd be handing out much harsher sentences...😈

👍 That’s right, Lisa Morales4 🙏

And look at the CONSEQUENCES of 🙄Marijuana

-dropping responsibilities,--
-losing motivation for commitments
-forgetfulness,
-an increased craving for partying,
-being rude when talking to parents,--
-dangers while driving,
-an increased risk of moving on to harder drugs

No joke, but it feels like quite a few people on this forum are under the influence of "weed"...👎

Neither the US nor any other country can make up for the consequences of #1 and #2...😲

Around here, things have changed imagesmokers have been phased out long ago👍 so there isn't really much point in reminding anyone not to smoke indoors anymore😁

I can't even imagine someone smoking right under my nose at work 😲 honestly, I feel like they'd probably end up swallowing whatever they just lit image

Richard Booth35 said:So I was scrolling through The New York Times this past Friday and saw this absolutely wild headline claiming that "as many as 40 percent of American fifteen-year-olds are oral sex enthusiasts."

No, and there isn't a single smoker in my family.👍
Whenever I travel through the US or Germany, I'm honestly shocked by how many people smoke😲 and it never seems to occur to anyone to ask, "Do you mind me polluting the air?"😕 😁

Nothing is more repulsive to me than seeing a mother with her child in a car, smoking like she's at some kind of smoking competition...😲

Are Indians lazy? in World ·
Rockefeller said:Indian professionals, especially those from their renowned technical institutes like ITT, have flooded North America with incredibly high-quality software talent. They are driven, they protect their knowledge, and they operate with a level of cohesion you rarely see. Because the competition back in India is so cutthroat, they are willing to put in grueling hours that an average American simply couldn't imagine. In India, it’s rare for a junior developer to head home without putting in 12 to 14 hours. Many work shifts, and during crunch times, some even sleep at the office. There are great ones out there—truly exceptional people—but they adapt to the Western work culture quickly and eventually move into management. They tend to be much better at teamwork than Chinese workers, who can sometimes feel limited or difficult to collaborate with. That dynamic changes drastically by the second generation, where my experiences have been quite the opposite.

The penetration of Indian and Chinese talent within North American tech firms... well, for software staff, it's easily around 80%. It's more than that. You don't see many Americans or Europeans in top-tier firms, though there is a fair amount of Mexican representation...

Even if they were software engineers in the US, the capital is currently flowing toward Europe...

Americans have been training them for years through education and research... essentially 😁preparing them for their own benefit😉...

Once they finish their studies in India, the US basically guarantees them a job—if not directly in America, then working remotely for American companies 😉 And don't be fooled into thinking an Indian worker will ever be lazy; instead, they'll work for a fraction of what any European would charge 🙂

And like Rockefeller mentioned, it's hard to find Americans, Germans, or other high-cost groups in top-tier firms because companies just can't justify the expense 😁 I'm speaking from experience 😁

Emily Taylor3 said:Alright, does anyone actually know if it's an Indian mentality issue, or just how they're programmed...

You can find great workers anywhere—from Romania, Pakistan, and Egypt to the USA, or even parts of Africa—but finding them in India seems to be the biggest challenge.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I've noticed this for a long time👍

I honestly think they just inherited the mindset of those cows wandering aimlessly through the streets of Indian cities...🙄

Chloe Allen26 said:So, what now?! And don't try to push me around, kid...😛

Well, that's it then. We aren't going to watch her anymore, and that's that... 😬 You're being quite intense... 😍
Amanda Booth42 said:There isn't much difference. They're both scandal-prone singers performing pop tunes that young girls flock to and whose private lives become obsession for people with nothing better to do.

Is it really okay for singers like that to serve as role models when 🙄kids have constant access to this kind of garbage online? If these artists were more careful about their public image and private actions, there wouldn't be so much drama surrounding them today...😛.
Amanda Booth42 said:Not everyone watched, nor do we intend to obsess over someone else's private life.
That’s just for people who don't have one of their own.

And honestly, what's the difference between Britney Spears and Britney Spears?

I don't see one, not in the music or anything else besides her current hair color...

It's a shame you didn't watch 😬 because then you'd understand why people react the way they do.😲 If her private life had actually stayed private, we wouldn't have seen things we weren't supposed to see... 😬
I've actually read quite a few complaints on this forum from men who were totally disillusioned with their own sex lives after seeing how Sia handles herself... 😬

She's the exact same as Britney...😁
silentridge8 said:Wait... are you that same guy from the other forum?😕

If you're actually close with him,
could you ask how old he is?😉 Just so I don't get ahead of myself with someone too young...😍 😍
Keith Wilson81 said:Oh, this is pure comedy...
I'm actually laughing out loud over here... okay, that's better
Well, sure, I can play a circle dance, but only something like a simple folk reel or maybe a Texas Two-Step... I have no idea how to play those old-school mountain dances from up north.

mhm, alright 😕

Your acting makes it pretty obvious you aren't from Hollywood, more like somewhere way up North 😁 though luckily my knowledge of how people act on these forums isn't that deep either, otherwise I'd probably spot who's hiding behind a female username in a heartbeat 🙂

Those players must be some pretty wild characters. Honestly, it looks like everyone up North is still living in a 1968 psychedelic dream 😬

You seem like a genuinely nice guy 😘 almost like I've known you my whole life😍
Chloe Allen26 said:Yeah, exactly! I have to admit, I don't really follow this... look, I'm not a fan, I don't listen to her, and I don't want to get dragged into debates about why the concert was canceled... but people started calling her some stupid girl, blah blah. I don't agree at all. Even though everyone is entitled to their opinion, I think it's tacky and just plain mean to talk about someone like that, especially since none of us actually know her personally. They say you can tell a lot by how much people talk about someone, and she certainly gets a lot of attention...

Listen, honey, if people were just making things up here, I'd agree with you, but we all saw that local adult film featuring that girl from the countryside😬 who thought she could become Pamela Anderson👎 Americans aren't quite that corrupted by Western trash yet😍If that was her plan to make it big😁 it didn't work out😬 so there's your singer, but she won't be singing for us😛

I'd rather watch Keith Wilson81 doing his little dance🙂
silentridge8 said:That’s nothing compared to this Dutch forum where some guy is claiming extremists are threatening poor Taylor Swift, saying she needs to be out of her mixed marriage...🤣

Good grief, you see the strangest things online. She’s just another typical celebrity, unfortunately...😲 people here would just call her a starlet😁
