The American diaspora isn't a fan of Severina

It’s pretty wild to see. Back home in America, people treat her like some kind of untouchable icon—it's like she can do no wrong. But then she steps out onto the global stage, and well, you see how fast things change.

There is really nothing to worry about. Every venue in the States will be completely sold out. Emigration isn't some magic trick that follows a "divide and conquer" manual.

However, it's an obvious falsehood because we all know that only Thompson has the track record of selling out every major arena from Los Angeles to New York City. Even in Australia and Germany, he consistently packs stadiums with 15,000 people.

This is simply the consequence of being arrogant and dishonest. You try to sell fifty tickets and then face the fallout. 🙂

Honestly, I think she’s just getting more and more irrational. At this point, I’m just waiting to see what kind of desperate stunt she pulls next to claw back some relevance. It's bound to be something messy. Maybe she'll end up in the ER after an accidental pill overdose or something. 🙄

Severina is total white trash... It’s no wonder she’s an outcast; we aren't used to these cheap, low-rent types and tacky bar music here in the States.

I guess she isn't the only one. I actually wrote about this once—our local stars might be big names at home, but when they hit the international stage, they show up in these really cheap outfits playing for maybe a hundred random people. But then, when they come back to the States, you read in our fancy magazines about how they played in these massive, famous venues in front of huge crowds... I can't help but laugh. I suppose the folks back home just buy into it, but those who were actually there at those tiny, messy "concerts" know the truth.
I don't really go to those kinds of events, just like I don't go to church or big political rallies (heaven forbid), but I did have the chance to visit a few places back in the 90s that I later read about in magazines, and I just had to laugh. Maybe the only group we've had that actually performed on a real world stage was Wild Jagoda.

AFTER Severina called off her American tour due to lackluster ticket sales—and allegedly following bomb threats at her upcoming venues—the head of ARX International, the agency responsible for booking stars from the former Yugoslavia across the US and Canada, Miloš M. sat down with the American newspaper Objectiv to explain what actually happened and how Severina's trip to America even came to be in the first place.

"The whole project was kicked off by my friend Zana Jovanovic through a contact of hers from Split who is close with Severina and her management. I was brought in to handle things alongside them, specifically managing local organizer contacts and digital marketing. ARX International was supposed to provide Severina and her crew with the credibility and peace of mind that this would be handled with total professionalism" — said Miloš M.

He also confirmed that Severina's shows were boycotted by American media outlets and certain American communities in those cities; they refused to run ads on their radio stations, and some Americans wouldn't even let concert posters be put up in their shops.

"This applies to Los Angeles, Vancouver, and to an extent, Chicago, New York City, and Toronto. I can't claim there's a boycott of the entire American community, though—I don't think the people working at those media outlets have that much sway over everyone, nor is the entire community in those cities a monolithically negative group." — added the head of ARX International.

"I should also mention the boycott from the Mexican radio station in Los Angeles, which refused to air an ad simply because Severina is an American. The American media didn't pull back because of me—I'm hardly that famous, and none of them know me personally—but rather because 'they heard Mexicans were running the tour.'" — believes Miloš M.

When asked if there were truly bomb threats, Miloš M. noted that the promoter in Vancouver received several threatening calls, claiming a bomb would be thrown into the venue and that both the promoter and Severina would pay with their lives if she showed up in Vancouver.

"There’s a police report on file, and I assume that after the rough start in Atlanta, that was the main reason Severina decided to scrap the whole tour." — said Miloš M., concluding:

"We just didn't expect that our typical North American primitivism—no matter how hard someone tries to run away from the North America—would escalate to the point where people are willing to threaten someone's safety, or even their life, just because they belong to a different nation or faith."

Tickets for Severina were available to everyone—Mexicans, Canadians, or Americans alike—but the price was a total joke; $40 is way too steep for a single Severina show.
For that kind of cash (if there had actually been tickets), I could have seen the Killerse at the same club instead.
