It doesn't really hurt, honestly; he just mentioned it's about 5 mm larger. The only time I feel anything is if I go a few days without any release and then get worked up—then my testicle swells up and feels like it’s going to burst. Once I finally ejaculate, the pain usually dies down after about half an hour. I should probably mention, though, that I had a tumor removed from my other testicle about two years ago, so I'm wondering if there might be some connection there.

Anyone have some insight on this? I just got back from an ultrasound and the technician mentioned a cyst on my epididymis—the report calls it a spermatocele. Is that something that actually needs treatment, or can it cause any issues?

Go ahead and roast me if you want, but I’m not actually overweight. I'm about 180 lbs at 5'11". I used to sit right around 175, but those extra 5 pounds decided to settle permanently on my waistline. That speed I mentioned? That’s just my cruising pace; once I hit an open stretch of road, I can push 20 mph before my heart rate even climbs to 170. Based on some of these threads and what I've been reading, people seem to think I can't burn fat because I'm riding too fast and just burning through carbs instead.

Got another nutrition question regarding cycling, so I’ll just keep it here instead of starting a new thread.
I’m planning on hitting the road this summer for a long-distance tour—something like a multi-day trek down to the coast. What’s the best way to fuel up when you’re putting in 150+ miles a day for seven days straight? Up until now, my go-to has been lots of milk and fruit yogurts, maybe a half-sandwich here and there throughout the day. And obviously, plenty of water depending on whether it’s sunny or cloudy. Plus the occasional Gatorade, of course!

Did you cut back on calories or change what you're eating?

Not really. My diet hasn't changed much since I stopped winter cycling. I grab a pastry before work, then have lunch at the office around 11:00—usually soup and some chicken or turkey with sides and a salad. I eat dinner at home around 5:00, and that’s pretty much it. I mostly stay away from pork and greasy stuff. I try to drink plenty of water, and if I'm feeling it, I'll knock back half a liter of milk before bed.
On those longer ride days, though, I mostly just stick to sandwiches, yogurt, and milk.

Quick question about weight loss. I noticed I spent about 559 miles riding my bike last month, but the scale hasn't budged. Not to mention, that stubborn belly and back fat isn't going anywhere either. Last year, I did a 932 miles trek over two weeks, and when I finally got home, I hadn't lost any weight—I actually gained some, and the fat stayed put. Anyone have any idea why this happens?
My average speed is usually between 22 and 16 miles mph, and I rarely ride for less than an hour!

Maybe this thread is just noise, but if one person actually thinks about what’s being said and decides to skip the headache, then it was worth it. That’s the whole point.

It’s not that you aren't smart, you're just bitter. And honestly? I just feel sorry for people like that.😘

What makes your mom, or anyone else who is sick, more deserving of therapy than an addict? Is it based on your vision of "everyone is responsible for their own mess"? By that logic, even veterans with PTSD are just their own fault for lighting themselves on fire. Who forced them to defend the country just so some punks could go out and get high? If you actually knew how many of those guys ended up on drugs—and not just the good stuff, but actual prescription meds—maybe you wouldn't be talking this much trash.

But like I said, you're bitter, so I get it. And don't be mad at me; I don't hate you. I just have a very direct, raw way of posting.🙂

You nailed it!!!!!! You’re basically equating cancer patients with addicts—comparing people fighting for their lives to people who just can't handle themselves! So what, since I had cancer, I guess I should have just died so you junkies could have a better time!!!!!

Does he think he’s actually put in any work? If he hasn't spent a day swinging a sledgehammer or hauling six bags of concrete into a mixer, he shouldn't be talking nonsense.😬

If you want a real rush, try biking all the way to Seattle in a single day. That feeling is absolutely insane!😬 Honestly, people who need booze or drugs just to have a good time are pretty pathetic.

Alex Chase86 said:. ..Morgan Williams4....did you do anything else while you were working at that clinic? My husband just got a referral for an endocrinologist, and we’re both wondering what he can actually expect during the appointment. He's a bit nervous about the whole thing... we didn't think they'd be such a headache 🙂

Aside from the actual semen analysis, they also ran some full andrology workups on me. It’s basically a sperm count plus bloodwork to check hormone levels. They didn't prescribe any treatment, though, since it hasn't been two years since my radiation therapy. I get why your husband might be nervous, but honestly, you have to look at this as totally routine. These doctors do this every single day; it’s just another Tuesday for them. He’ll probably just get a quick physical exam so the doctor can note everything looks normal in terms of size and shape. Look, plenty of guys have gone through the exact same thing with me, and I’m still standing. Sure, it’s a little awkward—especially if there’s a med student shadowing—but they aren't going to bite. As for worrying about bad results? You can't change what's written in stone. Stressing out will only make everything feel worse.

Anyway, here’s my story—maybe it’ll make you guys feel a little better.🙂))
Two years ago, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and they had to remove my left one. I headed over to see Vuk Vrhovec to freeze some sperm before starting radiation. Then the doctor tells me, "You've got twenty." I look at him like, twenty what? Twenty million? Twenty pieces? He deadpans, "Twenty pieces, man." I almost lost it laughing right there, but then he tells me that amount is basically useless. After the radiation, I went back for a checkup. He tells me I’ve only got seven pieces visible in the window. On top of that, my FSH levels are high, which apparently means there's a 90% chance the tissue in my remaining testicle is permanently trashed. I asked if there was any way to fix it, and he just said no. Honestly, I don't even know how to process it anymore. I've become so numb to these lab results that I find myself almost waiting for the next one just to see if things can actually get worse. Last summer, I tried to clear my head by cycling from Chicago all the way to the Barrier, then caught a boat to San Francisco and looped back toward Chicago. It was quite the trip. 932 miles Ten days of riding, then back for another sperm count a week later. And the results? Total madness. They told me 200,000 per milliliter—or whatever that metric was—but somehow the total came out to around 7 or 8 million in the whole sample. I looked the doctor straight in the eye and asked, "How is that even possible?" He just shrugged and basically admitted he had no clue. I even asked if they’d mixed up my samples, but he insisted that while technically possible, it's extremely unlikely. Since then, I've been hitting the bike and running constantly. Back in November, I went in again and the numbers were even weirder—barely 0.5 million per ml—so they ran more hormone tests to figure out what was going on. Now I'm booking another appointment for May, and honestly, I'm dying to see what kind of nonsense they come up with next.

The bottom line here is that neither you nor your husband need to spiral. Honestly, just getting some exercise in and cleaning up the diet might do the trick. My doctor actually told me that if these sperm counts stay where they are, we won't even have to look into IVF!🙂Maybe there’s some truth to that old saying: God works in mysterious ways.🙂Anyway, I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck and hope you guys have a blast hanging out here!🙂Your husband and you, obviously!🙂))) And honestly, the results might just show up when you least expect them!

I handle spermogram testing over at Vuk Vrhovac, and honestly, it’s a top-tier clinic. I personally see Dr. Čolko for my own checkups. If you're coming in by train, just hop on the subway and head toward Kvatrić! It's pretty much exactly what the folks above mentioned. They'll mail your results straight to your house. Just a heads-up: you have to book your appointment after the 15th of each month for the following month.
Do you guys actually go to the urologist? in Health ·
Anonymous said:Alright, I figured it was time for me to jump into this thread too. It’s been going on for a little while now—a couple of years, actually (I’m 22)—and I can feel this pea-sized lump near my right testicle. To be clear, it’s not ON the testicle itself, but just inside the scrotum or whatever that sac is called. It feels hard and it doesn't hurt, and I don't think it has actually grown in size since I first noticed it. Honestly, the only reason I haven't gone to get it checked out yet is because... well, let's just say I'm feeling pretty embarrassed about it.

I’ve done a bit of reading online regarding symptoms of testicular cancer, like pain and all that, but I haven't dealt with anything like that. I've also been really active with sports for several years now.

On another note, does anyone know if you usually go in for an ultrasound or some other kind of test when you get an exam?

It’s probably just a cyst, but since I’m no doctor, you really ought to see a urologist to get it checked out. They’ll do a physical exam and then might run an ultrasound or a color Doppler if needed—they might even pull some blood to check tumor markers. Look, it's better to deal with ten minutes of awkwardness than to spend days worrying about what it could be!
hiddentiger80 said:@ Angela Wright - if they’ve done the surgery and everything looks clear, shouldn't an oncologist be ordering tumor markers, an MRI, or a CT scan? And if those come back clean, why not skip chemo? Plus, what happens if something just feels "off" after the scans? Also, does every oncologist handle everything, or are they specialized by body part?

@Jeja - hang in there! I really admire your strength and how you're handling this. 😘

There’s a thing called micrometastases—tiny cells a surgeon simply can't see. They won't show up on markers, so doctors often recommend radiation or chemo just to be safe. For what it's worth, Gamulin specializes in radiation. I’m actually her patient, and she’s incredibly thorough; you just have to have some patience to get through the waiting list!🙂))
I totally agree—the weight actually falls harder on the healthy ones than the patient. A couple of years back, I was dealing with testicular seminoma, and honestly, the toughest part wasn't my own diagnosis; it was hearing from my sister how much my mom was breaking down at home because her son had cancer. She never let me see it, though.

Sometimes people go overboard trying to show support, but they end up suffocating the person who's actually sick. Worst of all, the patient sees nothing but pity in their eyes, which is a total motivation killer. In my opinion, you really have to tread lightly when you're reaching out to someone struggling.
I'm 300 lbs and need some advice in Health ·
If you aren't eating more than you burn, you can try any diet or treatment under the sun. On the flip side, if you've been gaining weight for years, expecting to drop it all in three months is just delusional. Personally, I swear by cycling—but don't just go for an hour; go for hours! Sure, your butt will feel like it's been through a blender after the first few rides, but give it time and the soreness disappears.🙂

Try to be there for him without being pushy. If he does decide to open up, don't jump in with unsolicited advice—just let him talk and listen. Honestly, I doubt my old man would say much to me about stuff like this; he’d probably just try to spare me the trouble. I know I wouldn't want to burden my kids with my problems. But if he wants to talk, just let him vent and stay close.

Missing a period doesn't always mean you're pregnant. If you've been dealing with a ton of stress lately, it can definitely happen!
I wouldn't mind, personally, though I can't speak for everyone else. My take? If that guy turns you down, you're probably better off not working with him at all.

It’s really no secret. Dr. Kapun was my private urologist. He has a practice over in Twitter and runs ads in the local papers, so you shouldn't have any trouble tracking him down!
