The Postmen are actually a great band, even if we don't talk about them enough. People tend to get a little confused when they try to categorize that blend of folk, nouveau-riche pop, and hard rock-soul satire. Himzo polovina, Luis, Dertum, Dragačevo, North Mexico... they're all incredible.
As for The Postmen, I guess they basically invented playing, humor, and everything else meaningful about music just to give the local firefighters something to do, and honestly, it works.
Unfortunately, you two aren't here in the States. Does anyone on this forum happen to have a copy of the Grow Fins compilation? I tracked it down when I was visiting London, but the price tag was absolutely outrageous.
Regarding TMR, it’s the kind of album that takes a bit of time to really sink in, but once it does, it stays with you forever. My advice: just let it play in the background at a low volume while you're busy with chores or whatever, almost as if you aren't even listening to it. I suppose you catch the bug when you least expect it...
I suppose Simenc is like a fine bourbon, Cope; he just gets better with age.
Which mothers were being brought up?
Let’s just reach an agreement here and be decent about this—cheer for our guys, and then give props to whoever comes out on top.
I can't speak for everyone else in the States, but I'm actually curious to see what the folks from our neighboring countries have to say. Provided they're being civil, of course.
My prediction: 51:49 for Mexico and Mexico. They're in a tight spot, but honestly, so are we.
Hey, any chance I could get my hands on those episodes? What format are we talking about here—VHS or DivX? I actually have all three films on DivX, and the quality is pretty solid, so maybe we could trade. Or if there’s something else you’re looking for instead. Either way, you’d have my eternal gratitude.
The movie is solid, though I found Malkovich more impressive. The ending isn't poorly conceived, but the execution just didn't pull me in; it failed to engage me with its irony. I suppose one might need to be an insider to truly catch all the nuances, I don't know.
Regarding the rules of the plot, doesn't Cooper (the man!) end up killing Deux via deus ex machina at the very end?
Words can't quite capture my full thoughts on this subject... After finishing The Matrix and scrolling through this thread around 4 AM, I ended up popping in a tape... The bit with the Italian lessons, that Picasso fellow painting while riding a bike, and those famous deaths... Does anyone happen to have The Life of Brian on DivX? I've never been able to get a clean rip of it. I'd give anything for the episodes in German.
It feels like the big corporations are just buying them up now... I honestly think Proxima would have been a stronger record if it hadn't been released right after Clandestine. I’d definitely suggest picking up both albums (I haven't gotten around to hearing KEXP yet) before the warmer spring and summer days finally arrive. There is something about driving somewhere—or maybe just driving aimlessly—with the windows down, feeling the breeze, and having Manu playing in the background.
