Are you kidding me?!😲 Thick as a pencil? Come on, man... tell me that's a joke... 🙂
Yeah, re-measured. Same story. 65 grams of protein. I split that into 10 blocks since my workouts are more than 3x30 mins a week, but less than 5x1h (once my semester finishes in a month)...
And yeah, totally messed up that lunch. Definitely can't wing it without a scale.
Now I'm wondering: for those of you who actually used the knowledge zone; how long did it take before you saw anything happening? Did it just melt the fat off the stomach and hips, or was it a full body thing? I'm trying to deal with cellulite too, so curious if the zone helps at all 😕
Also, super important question: HOW BIG IS A SLICE OF BREAD? Like, are we talking a slice of Wonder Bread, some sourdough, a baguette... what?! 🤔 It’s driving me crazy... Grams work too 😁
Yeah, the weighing thing totally caught me off guard... like, you realize you can crush 84g of lean turkey bacon for breakfast just like that! Never even thought to check the numbers before. Same goes for cheese...
Still trying to wrap my head around this though: I made a lunch combo using 3 blocks and couldn't even finish it. Had to scale everything back by one. It was way too much. Just had some beef, spinach, and a tomato and Kraft Heinz salad with olive oil. Honestly feel like I'm gonna burst! First time since starting the zone that I've actually felt full. It's a good kind of full, though. Anyway, gotta go grind out this term paper... 😁

Yeah, I already thought of that. Two reasons... 1. feels like way too little food for me (at least for lunch) 2. based on my lean body mass and activity level, I should be hitting 65g of protein a day. But this one nutritionist told me he thinks I need "way more." Don't get how he can even say that when he doesn't know my measurements, my lean mass, or anything else; he just looked at me and decided 🙄
Anyone else deal with hitting hunger spikes way earlier than expected when they first started the Zone, even after eating exactly the right amount of blocks?!
I don't get it; according to the book, if you're hungry two hours after eating while you're still awake, it means you didn't get enough carbs and should bump up by one carb block. But doesn't that just mess with the whole ratio? Because that’s exactly what happens to me, even when I think I’m following the rules perfectly. My focus is actually 👍 and I'm not even getting that afternoon crash 😁

My bad, Kenneth Hernandez67, didn't catch that. I'm heading back home in a month, so I'll actually have time to handle my own food then. That's why I'm sticking to the cafeteria for now...
My biggest issue is being at college in a city where I only stay during the week. The coursework is brutal, so there’s zero time to actually eat right. The campus cafeteria is a total disaster; honestly, I don't even want to talk about it. It feels like everything is 70% carbs... So what happens? I roll out of lectures completely wiped, too exhausted to cook, so I just hit the cafeteria and grab some pasta. Two hours later, I'm starving again. By February, I'll probably have to start working out just to try and fix the cellulite this lifestyle is giving me. I gotta admit, I've been doing a better job lately of balancing things out; cutting back on the heavy carbs. But now that I've "stumbled upon" this zone, I think things are finally gonna shift...
Yeah, pretty sure my math checks out. Ended up with about 64.5g of protein, divided by 7, so that’s 9 per day. My BMR is sitting at 41.5kg. Hopefully I didn't screw the numbers up too bad 🙄 And for activity level, just moderate, I guess (factor 0.7)... Uh...
Yeah, right... thought getting into this wouldn't be such a headache. But how are you guys supposed to eyeball those protein blocks without a scale or being at home? You just use that hand measurement thing? I'm struggling with my daily protein block schedule. I figured out I need 9 blocks a day, but now I'm stuck on how to split them over 5 meals. Was thinking maybe 2-3-1-2-1, but who knows if that actually works. Anyone got any advice? Thanks. 👋
Hey everyone, if you've actually tried the zone diet, could you drop your experiences here? I'm digging through this book by Barry Sears and it honestly seems solid... everything just makes sense. Just wondering if anyone here is actually doing it. Is managing those food blocks a total nightmare, or does it eventually become second nature... Anything helps. Just curious about how it all works out in real life. Thanks!🙂
David Davis26 said:sorry if this is totally off-topic, but you guys seem like the right crowd for this. where can I actually find a decent digital scale? looking for specific models and what they usually go for...
Saw an ad in some magazine for a Whirlpool scale that calculates body fat percentage too. Looks okay, just have no clue about the price tag. Anyway, I almost had a heart attack checking out those T-fal digital ones at Mercury $300! Good grief, does that thing even talk back? Ugh... p.s. wondering how these home scales get calibrated, if it's built-in or if you have to haul it to a repair shop...
Man, feels like I stumbled onto some actual experts here... maybe even 🙂 Wondering if anyone’s messed around with blood type diets? Thinking about jumping on the bandwagon since it just feels right for my body. From what I've read, it actually looks legit. Anyway, if you've tried it or know the deal, let me know...

Just got out of a lecture... professor says skip the pills because they're apparently only for "complicated cases." Says Virolex ointment is our real savior... Claims Herpes Simplex type 1—you know, the lip kind—is just an aesthetic issue. Easy for her to say when it doesn't flare up every single month during her period...🙄
