I really don't think animals are being slaughtered just because of you—and no one is paying for it. Maybe it's an illusion in this life, but I guess there's always time for a reaction later.

But hold on—my religion clearly states that it's perfectly fine to kill animals for food, and frankly, that makes way more sense to me than having to survive on nothing but vegetables. Just because something seems illogical to you doesn't mean it applies to everyone... logic is a pretty tricky thing, isn't it?

Thomas Stewart97 said:I think anyone would just react on instinct—it really depends on how attached you are to the creature. Most people would probably save their own child first... it's just primal.
The real dilemma is when it’s a complete stranger versus a pet. I suspect quite a few people might actually grab their pet before some random person they don't know at all.

Personally, I believe a human life isn't inherently more valuable—every living thing holds its own importance.

I am not talking about pure instinct here—you actually have time to pause and make a conscious choice about what matters most. So, I mean, I'm not referring to split-second decisions.

See, if I had to choose between my pet and a total stranger, I would pick the human—regardless of how much I love my pet. A human life is worth more—much more.🙂 🙂

Thomas Stewart97 said:that isn't even a religion—it's more like a fundamental law governing creation itself.
Everything comes full circle—everything carries a price.
What goes around, comes around. A.K.A. ... what you do, eventually finds its way back to you.🙂

Yeah... I suppose the concept of karma isn't actually tied to any specific faith.🙄 😛

😲 😲 😲

Son, you clearly don't have a clue about life—or what life is actually worth, whether we're talking about humans or animals 👎

Thomas Stewart97 said:it isn't🙂

It is—honestly, I believe human life simply carries more weight than that of an animal.

I actually brought this up with Rachel Martinez11 once—though they wouldn't give me a straight answer—so I suppose I'll ask you instead... just imagine you were faced with a choice where either your child or your pet was in immediate danger, and you could only save one of them. Who would you choose?

Thomas Stewart97 said:Well, I suppose that’s all well and good for your karma.🙂
The debt will come due eventually—whenever that may be.🙂

Look, I guess in your belief system that might be the case—but it certainly isn't in mine. In my faith, eating animals is perfectly acceptable. Are you suggesting—perhaps—that your beliefs are somehow more important or truer than mine?

Rachel Martinez11 said:Look, I love the taste of meat—I really do. But I don't eat it, mostly because my conscience feels better that way. It’s an analogy, I guess—I recognize there are other attractive women out there besides my wife, and I'm sure I'd enjoy their company, too. But I avoid those kinds of encounters because I feel more at peace knowing I'm not cheating. She would suffer immensely if I did, and I simply don't want her to hurt. In the same vein, I don't want animals to suffer. Though, I suppose I wouldn't mind if everyone who lacks empathy for others felt that pain themselves—it might actually help them understand the issue better.

There is one flaw in that logic—I am not looking to form a deep emotional bond with a pig; I just want to eat it and move on.😕

The butcher claims to love animals??????????🤣

People who consume meat—they are responsible for the brutal slaughter of animals and unspeakable suffering.
If you equate the slaughtering, the blood, the painful cries, the unspeakable suffering, the fear, and that sense of betrayal with love, then—I guess—you are either incredibly callous and lacking empathy, or you just don't know what you're talking about... because your post honestly lacks any sense of common sense.

It’s just their job,😕
you know—some people are forced to take whatever work comes their way. It is easy for you to sit there behind a keyboard, but—well—not everyone is that lucky. Dammit, if someone has to choose between working at a slaughterhouse and watching their kids starve, most people will become butchers without a second thought. Still, I suppose human life is more valuable than animal life. 🙂

A little rule of thumb—if a movie is bad according to someone with ASD, then you really ought to watch it 🙏 🙏

Well—if you’d just take a moment to read your own post again—maybe you’ll realize you basically described yourself and all other vegetarians as nothing more than trendy posers—people who only do it because it happens to be cool right now.

wheel said:Of course they influence them. Society imposes its own standards—whether you notice it or not. If you’ve ever watched George Orwell, you might have seen how ten or fifteen idiots on prime-time TV end up dictating how everyone else is supposed to think.

Fascinating. You just keep going, I guess. People love eating meat because—unlike plants—it actually tastes great. I remember an episode of DirectTV where they featured some vegetarians. There was this guy cooking miso soup, and for half an hour, he just rambled about the benefits of a vegetarian diet—how it's all so wonderful and trendy—but in those thirty minutes, he never once mentioned actually enjoying the food. Well, honestly, what's the point of food if you don't even enjoy it? 🤮

Karma eventually catches up with everyone.
I suppose karma will come back to haunt you—eventually.🙂

Honestly, I think karma is a total load of nonsense.👋

Animals don't have souls🙂

kriskros99 said:The core issue—if you want to call it that—is simply that these poor animals suffer needlessly just because people enjoy gorging themselves on carcasses.😱

wheel said:Someone who kills an animal out of pure necessity—well, I suppose they aren't any worse than someone who doesn't kill at all. It’s similar to when a person is forced to take a life—they aren't inherently more evil than those who haven't had to face such a choice. However—and this is the crucial part—someone who actually has an alternative but chooses to kill a person or an animal anyway... they are certainly worse than those who don't kill. Now, I don't mean to include meat eaters who simply aren't aware of how the industry works or that alternatives exist. There are so many people like that—likely due to intense media propaganda and the massive influence the meat industry holds over politics, both here in America and globally.

Man, when are you going to realize it isn't about that—it's about the fact that people just LOVE EATING MEAT! Do you honestly think anyone is forcing people to eat what they clearly enjoy?

Geez, you are really stuck in your own head 🤮

misery- said:Oh, come on—you're just clinging to your ways like a drunkard to a fence post because you're afraid that admitting meat isn't "necessary" might force you to rethink your whole worldview. It’s hard for you to see that millions of people don't need meat—they actually function quite well, maybe even better, without it. I guess it's just easier than finally getting off your lazy ass and, heaven forbid, actually standing apart from the crowd.

Honestly, you guys are such idiots. Why do you keep insisting this is nothing but pure conformism? What are you even talking about? For most people, meat *is* a necessity, and most wouldn't choose to live without it. It makes me want to walk right off a bridge when you constantly spout this nonsense that our way of life is just conformity—as if you're all somehow superior or more enlightened than everyone else. You're just full of yourselves, really. 🙄 🙄 🙄
