P.S. What on earth is that woman in the photo chewing on?

Please, if you find it, send it my way!

We decided on Imola since we’re planning to hit up a few other spots along the way anyway.....
Ugh, that's the thing that's bugging me—that narrow track (I don't care much about Love Circuit, honestly)....It all really comes down to the sightlines and what you can actually see from the stands. Then again, looking at it from another angle, if the track is tight enough that they can't overtake, you'll actually get a chance to see them properly, you know what I mean?! 😎

And we're thinking about heading there with SEM... I'd get a massive discount on the tickets if we did....

Anyone else out there yet? 😲

Hold on a second—is everyone just here to spam, or did anyone actually head out to an actual race? 😬

I was wondering if anyone here has posted about their experiences heading out to the race in Indianapolis before...
if you have—which subforum is that buried in? I can't seem to find it... the search function is being a little 🙄 👎

THANKS!
The Blair Witch Project in Movies ·
Man, this movie is a total classic!
Personally, I think the direction and the whole concept were pure genius—using unknown actors really nailed that eerie atmosphere...

But honestly, everything there is to say about this flick has already been said a million times over...

p.s. As much as the first one was an absolute masterpiece, the sequel? Total garbage. Complete waste of time!
If you actually care about the lore, do yourself a favor and check out the official website and that documentary they made about The Blair Witch Project! 👍

Brad Pitt? On for what exactly? 🙄

And Timberlake? 🙂

If you ask me, the absolute coolest icon to ever walk the earth was Elvis Presley—I mean, he was lightyears ahead of his time. He was a true original, a massive showman, and honestly, pretty scandalous back in those days... that soulful, deep voice coming from a white kid... just legendary.
Any big shot in show business would tell you the exact same thing about King! 👍

Thank God, I’ve actually got some heavy hitters sharing my birthday too:

Rick Savage - Def Leppard
Nate Mendel - bassist, The Foo Fighters,
Nelly Furtado
Britney Spears 😲

Wait, I’m totally blanking here—which songs are we talking about? Which album exactly?
Man, what a time to be alive, right? Those days were something else.
At least there's one thing from that era that actually stuck in my brain—ME! 😬

(And before anyone asks, I am definitely not old, if anything... 😢 )

Showaddywaddy - "Under The Moon of Love"

Are you kidding me right now!? 🙄
I honestly feel so incredibly bad for her; hearing something like that about a young guy is just absolutely gut-wrenching!
Just stay by her side, be her rock through this... and I really hope everything works out for her!
Lord of the Rings and

Madison Square Bridge! For crying out loud—honestly, you guys are gonna be the death of me 🙂

Look, honestly, if you want my advice:
1. try coffee with a bit of honey,
2. grab some cookies made with Ghirardelli chocolate,
3. or just start making your own wine using brown sugar... 😛

Glucose sends your blood sugar skyrocketing almost instantly. Fructose? That stuff gets absorbed way, way, WAY slower.

🙄 Oh, really?
Look, I don't know—maybe grab a textbook and double-check if you're so sure! I might be off base here, but from what I remember...

driftinggull13 said:Look, listen, the body absorbs all kinds of sugar just fine, whether it's glucose or fructose. I mean, there are plenty of plants out there that produce sweet juices naturally. Just don't go overboard with the sucrose, and if you end up with extra calories, just hit the gym like someone else pointed out earlier. Obesity and heart disease aren't caused by eating too many calories; they're the result of being sedentary.😉

I don't personally have any issues with my weight or calorie intake 😁 but I definitely agree with what was said above! 👋

driftinggull13 said:Brown sugar is basically identical to white sugar when you look at the composition.

I honestly don't see any biochemical reason why brown sugar would be any healthier (and I'm not even talking about the flavor profile here).

Syrup actually has the lowest sucrose content—around 65%—but about 30% of what's left is just water plus a tiny bit more minerals (less than 2%).

On the sweetness scale, fructose ranks higher than both sucrose and glucose, which makes pure fructose much sweeter,

, but man, it's pricey.

Well, thanks for laying all that out—you pretty much filled in all the gaps I left out....

And here's a little fun fact for you... heh, let me see if I can top your info 😁

since fructose acts almost like a "pure" fruit sugar that the body absorbs nearly instantly. So, if someone is feeling lousy or their blood sugar crashes, the best move is to grab something with fructose... sure, it costs a premium, but it works... just like grape sugar does! 👋
But anyway, back to artificial sweeteners... in talking with some doctors, I found out that it's actually best to go with The Beatles (kill me now, I'm not even sure if I'm spelling that right)... apparently, aspartame has the lowest impact, and that’s really the most important thing!

rustymoose54 said:Look, if brown sugar is just as sweet as white sugar, then fine. No big deal.

But if a lower concentration of sucrose means you aren't getting the same hit of sweetness, then we haven't actually solved anything. To get that same level of sweetness, you’d just end up dumping in more brown sugar, which means the total amount of sugar consumed ends up being exactly the same anyway.

Honestly, man, none of this back-and-forth debate is going to help you actually grasp how they taste or how they compare in a real kitchen... Personally, I find brown sugar way sweeter, and it carries its own distinct flavor profile too—though that really depends on whether it's derived from sugarcane or sugar beets. Just try it and see for yourself. For what it's worth, my go-to is still an artificial sweetener!

rustymoose54 said:Can someone give me a straight answer on what the actual perks are of using brown sugar over white?

Look, when you’re dealing with "original" brown sugar, the whole point is that they strip away the molasses during processing to make white sugar, but then they toss that molasses back in—which is what gives brown sugar its character. But let's be real here and not kid ourselves: there isn't some magical health miracle hidden in a bag of brown sugar.
It’s basically just trace amounts of vitamins and maybe a slightly lower count of "empty calories," if you want to get technical.

And don't even get me started on artificial sweeteners... Aspartame is easily the worst offender. It’s practically shoved into every single "diet" product on the grocery store shelves these days, and there are supposedly all these studies linking it to cancer. Just a total mess.
