We’re still missing Locke and...

Somebody get in here and keep this list going!
The Seven Secretary Scandal in Miscellaneous ·
I swear—if I can just get my head in the game, I can name all seven Savannahs!

It’s just as important (even if nobody actually gives a damn)! 😳

So, what was the actual point of these people? What was their whole purpose even meant to be?

Even looking at the names, I’m still completely lost! 😁

I feel so incredibly bad for Sarah Cruz2, and honestly, I’m at a total loss as to how I could even help her...
I jump in and read your comments every now and then, but there's one specific detail I'm stuck on—either I missed it or just skimmed right past it—how old is her sister?

Hey, can you grab this thread and cross-post it over to the Health forum too?
The Manchurian Candidate in Movies ·
Aha, please—Pauline Kael is totally overreaching here. It’s always the same story with her: she acts like she’s the only one with a functioning brain while everyone else is just walking around clueless... 🙂 🥳

What an absolute disaster of a movie! 🙂

Even someone as talented as Streep couldn't save this train wreck from being completely unwatchable! 👎
I don't hit the movie theater nearly enough; I usually wait until I'm practically dying for something to show up on Blu-ray or digital.

But then again... 🤔
When you actually go all the time, you get this feeling like you're always hanging out with the same crowd (though, let’s be honest, that's probably impossible in a place like Washington, D.C., but in other cities it definitely happens). You follow every single release, and man, it’s a blast—it really is.
And then, one day, you just get burned out and head straight to the video rental store instead!

Good luck! 👋

Jennifer Connelly is absolutely incredible! 👍 Honestly, I thought the whole movie was solid.

It’s just one of those things—it always seems like the most innocent person ends up paying the price.

Does some private clinic just not exist somewhere in California? Seriously, someone please tell me where... it’s out there somewhere...

p.s. - I'm done harping on about this here! Catch you all later! 👋

quietwalker97 said:Look, I just started looking at things this way because it was the only way I could actually function. Believe me when I say it isn’t as simple as just deciding to "stop"! I am fighting this battle with myself every single day. To make life a little more manageable, I tried framing it as just some bad habit I needed to kick, but let's be real—it feels much more like an addiction. No doctor, no matter how many degrees they have, can just reach into your mind and flick a switch to make it disappear. It’s all in your head; it’s wired into your brain. Sure, you can go through endless psychotherapy sessions or visit specialists, but at the end of the day, those people aren't close to you. To them, this is just a job. The real secret is finding someone who actually *gets* it—someone who can truly empathize and sincerely wants to help you pull through. You just don't get that kind of connection from your standard doctors. Honestly, I think a therapeutic group would be way more effective, especially one filled with people who have actually made it out the other side. But as far as I know, Libella doesn't even exist anymore, and I haven't heard anything about other groups. There are so many different disorders surrounding us, but nobody wants to acknowledge them or face the reality of what's happening. As for me, I've decided to try and break out of this vicious cycle on my own as best as I can. But let me tell you, progress is slow, and it takes a hell of a lot of time.

I'm pretty sure that was meant for me!
Look, I know exactly what you’re talking about—and honestly, it’s perfect, if it's a bit unfortunate. I see the point you're making, but let's be real: we both know you haven't actually gotten there yet. She decided. Healing... It’s such a massive, heavy concept, isn't it? People toss the word around like it’s some simple task you can just check off a grocery list between buying milk and picking up eggs, but let’s be real—it’s never that straightforward. It’s messy, it’s exhausting, and honestly, it can feel like you're running a marathon through knee-deep mud just to reach the starting line.
Look, we’re talking about addiction here—real, deep-seated dependency driven by psychological needs. It’s not just one thing. For some people, it's cigarettes; for others, it's hard drugs; and for a lot of folks, it’s that constant emotional "feeding" through binge eating. It all stems from the same void.
Once you finally make the call to break that magical—okay, let's be real, *cursed*—loop you've been stuck in, that’s going to be your very first step. And honestly? It’ll be the most important one toward actually living a normal life.
Then you’ll finally realize that running away into binge eating isn't actually a way to deal with your problems... you have to face them head-on. You’ve got to take some responsibility—not just for yourself, but for the food you’re actually putting into your body. It’s about accountability.
You've been stuck in this hole way too long—it's going to ruin you. Honestly, it’s about time you "came back" to reality.
I’m wishing you nothing but the best! 👋

quietwalker97 said:After reading through this whole debate above, I just couldn't help myself from jumping in. I've been "fighting" Bulimia for years now. Honestly, calling it a fight feels like an understatement. It’s more like I just live with it. This has been going on for thirteen years.
So, if anyone thinks they can tackle this all on their own, you're dead wrong. Plus, speaking from my own experience, there isn't a single doctor—not a Psychiatrist, a nutritionist, or anyone else who can actually provide real help around here in the States.
As the years go by, I guess I've started accepting it as part of who I am, almost like a personality trait, just to make things easier on myself. Because constantly spiraling over what I secretly do sometimes just pushed me right to the edge of depression—that horrible, crushing sense of guilt...

SO WAIT—YOU'RE SAYING YOU ACCEPT YOUR ILLNESS AS SOMETHING NATURAL!?
YOU CAN'T HELP YOURSELF, AND THERE'S NOBODY IN AMERICA WHO CAN ACTUALLY CURE YOU EITHER!

And then when you finally face it—bam, the guilt hits you, and you just close your eyes to it all over again!

Wrong way, wrong mindset... you don't deserve this... can you seriously call Bulimia a character trait? (It's a consequence, after all, never the root cause)!

mistybear4 said:Modern medicine is constantly hunting for new drugs to fix every little ailment. Pay attention to how doctors always use the word “treatment.” They "diagnose" you first, and then they "treat" you. But let’s be real—we should be talking about HEALING! To heal means to become whole again. It means returning to your true self—feeling young, vibrant, and healthy! What more could you possibly ask for? Do you want to be just another patient getting "treated," or do you actually want to be healed? And look, it's not some magical miracle either! Your own body is the miracle. But the catch is, you have to feed it right. Whether you get healed or not is entirely up to what you put in your mouth! 🙂

Honestly, it’s like a demon possessed Little Red Riding Hood—thank goodness there are still kind souls out there!

I don't know how long I'm going to be sick!
I have no idea who to turn to for help because I don't trust myself talking to my doctor, and I really don't want this getting out...
I don't want anyone knowing,
I know I'm sick... but I also know I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, and I'm terrified people will start pointing fingers before I can even blink...
Right now I'm at 125 lbs and I don't want to lose any more weight... but I just can't stop..
I don't even know which hurts more... keeping food inside me or forcing it back out...???
From what I know, there are only three psychiatrists around here—one is always drunk, one is on medical leave, and the other is some old guy who just pushes pills all day...

😉
Hey everyone...
I'm feeling a bit better, thanks for everything!!!

I think this was meant for me....
It’s actually a good sign that you’re starting to get fed up with this situation and realizing things can't stay this way forever...
Look, honey, if you don't go find some help to regain your "self-control," you're going to spiral straight into anorexia, and then we're looking at a whole different beast (which isn't really what we're discussing here right now).
And honestly, what does the scale have to do with purging? People dealing with Bulimia are mostly at a normal weight or even slightly above, so the number on the scale isn't your main issue here.
What should actually be eating at you is the emotional void you're trying to fill every single day! (Once you get professional help, you'll realize exactly what I mean) And please, don't go looking for flaws in doctors—they're going to be your biggest advocates, not your enemies.
You haven't eaten today (or at least not by the time you wrote this?), and I doubt you'll stay that way, but I'm certain of one thing—you didn't skip the chocolate, nor can you fully purge everything—you already know deep down which foods come up easily and which ones absolutely won't.
And do you really think nobody notices? You don't have broken capillaries around your eyes, red eyes from the strain, or those little cuts on your fingers? You aren't staying up late while everyone else sleeps? Besides, doesn't the smell ever linger in the bathroom or on your hands if you purge something dairy-based?

Listen, I only wrote this because of your DM, but if there's ANYTHING else you need to know (before you seriously decide to end this cycle), just reach out! 👋

Look... you finally opened up. You actually said what’s weighing on you and...... now what? Are you going to sit there and try to eat everything in the pantry while your family is out, or are you heading straight to the kitchen right this second?!
Nobody here can give you CONCRETE help—all we can do is tell you to go see a professional and finally admit to yourself and your family "who you've been" over these last few months.....
And yeah, you might face judgment, and for some people, that stigma sticks for life no matter how close you are to them. But honestly? You only owe it to yourself to get back a life that isn't ruled by obsessions—to stop feeling like everyone needs to distance themselves from you just because you're surrendering to something that is destroying you and could ultimately kill you.

Just make a choice. Start by seeing a primary care doctor..... or better yet—just talk to your guy. He’ll either step up and support you, or he’ll push you away. Even if he pushes you away, let that be the catalyst you need to break out of the daily cycle you've built for yourself—the one where you keep doing exactly what makes you endlessly miserable.....

Back when we had that massive top-tier thread dedicated to ED, you could even find links out to those pro-ana sites. 😱

Look, when she’s finally ready, she’ll know what steps to take. Reading a book isn't going to magically fix things right now!
I get it, she’s probably embarrassed, lurking here and reading all this while feeling terrified—but she has to face the reality of where things stand today, go out and find professional help, and just start over from scratch. She’s going to make it through this!
