I should probably weigh in so this doesn't turn into a one-sided conversation.

The photos aren't exactly my best work. Right now, my legs—which have always been a bit too heavy for my liking—are dealing with some post-pregnancy cellulite. It’s a phase, I hope. I'm working on fixing it. Ideally, I’d lose a few pounds, specifically from my legs 😁. My core also needs serious tightening. Everything looks fine when I'm empty, but as soon as I eat or drink anything, it pooches out exactly the way it did during my pregnancy. I worry that some muscles might have lost their function permanently, given how much my stomach expanded back then.

I'm trying to eat better. I've started having cereal for breakfast, I'm eating more fruits and veggies, avoiding pork, and opting for more home-cooked meals...

But there are still days when I just want to snack on everything—pizzas, toasted sandwiches, fancy pastries, all sorts of chips...

When you go through a long stretch of strictly healthy food, you eventually hit a wall where you just want to grab some chips, devour a pizza or some burgers... wash it down with a Coke, even though you know it isn't good for you..
Since I'm still young (24), I feel like I don't need to be incredibly strict about only eating clean foods. Sometimes it’s hard, too. It feels like you're being a slave to your own rules. Honestly, you can't always be scrutinizing every single thing to see if it's "healthy," especially when you try things out and only find out later what was actually in them...

My goal is to eat healthily. Weight isn't an issue for me, so I'm not some calorie-counting control freak. I think a 70:30 ratio in favor of healthy food is much better than making zero attempt to change your lifestyle at all...
Regarding what someone else wrote about fatigue and exhaustion... eating healthy really does make you feel better and more energetic, especially if you pair it with physical activity..

I believe the most important thing is to establish healthy habits and gradually increase them over time. But I also think you shouldn't be a slave to those habits; sometimes you just need to eat something totally unhealthy if that's what you're craving...🙂

Hey steelsailor74, I could pretty much sign my name to everything you wrote here. Healthy eating is about wellness, not just weight loss, and there's no need to stress when you eat something junk-heavy. I've never had issues with my weight, so I don't feel guilty eating a piece of chocolate or some pizza; it makes me happy, and I know my next meal will be healthy and balanced again. To me, that's the path to success—avoiding drastic changes because they're too hard to sustain. Just aim to get a little healthier every single day.
Zinc supplementation: Is it worth it? in Health ·
I’ve transcribed this directly from the book "vitamins and minerals, truth and prejudice." It was authored by Dr. M. Medić-Šarić, along with pharmacists I. buhač and clinical pharmacology specialist Doc. V. Bradamante.
In my own view, though? You shouldn't exceed 3x the RDA—meaning, don't go over 45 mg a day. My take is that while long-term use is fine, you really have to stay within those RDA limits.
Living in a high-rise means noise is just part of the deal—someone is always drilling, neighbors are arguing, or there’s a party going on next door. Luckily, we aren't right next to a major highway, so at least I can avoid that specific headache. Still, it gets to me. It definitely makes me more irritable.
My go-to method for a mental reset is simple: get out into nature for the weekend. Ideally, I head somewhere up in the mountains where the only thing you hear is the wind whistling, a creek running, or birds singing. It works every time. It truly clears everything out—the noise, the crowds, the rush, the stress, the agitation...
Zinc supplementation: Is it worth it? in Health ·
For a healthy adult woman, the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) sits at 12 mg, while men should aim for 15 mg. Most people hit a sweet spot between 8.6 and 14 mg just through a balanced diet. Think of it like fuel for an engine—you get it from sources like beef, oysters, crab, turkey, tuna, organ meats, nutritional yeast, soy, pumpkin seeds, cheese, or even peas.
However, more isn't always better. Overdoing it can lead to stomach irritation or vomiting—an issue particularly common with oral zinc sulfate treatments that convert into corrosive zinc chloride. There is a ceiling here; the upper limit for safe daily intake is 150 mg. Going beyond that could potentially cause total cholesterol levels to spike.

As the pharmacists say, 😁
Hypnosis: Yay or Nay? in Health ·
I have to admit, the whole concept scares me a bit. Just the thought of someone poking around in my subconscious... it gives me the chills. Who knows what they might uncover or stir up? Honestly, I’d much rather just live in blissful ignorance.
As for using it to help with illnesses, I'm pretty skeptical. A single small study doesn't prove anything; on a sample size that small, you're likely looking at pure coincidence. To get truly reliable results, you need massive clinical trials involving way more people, where every other variable is carefully controlled and ruled out.
