ironlynx41 said:Is it possible to get a wig covered by Medicare after just the 2nd out of 6 chemo cycles?
How does it work, what's the damage, and where should I go?
Thanks, everyone!

ironlynx41, what Angela Wright said is spot on. Just a heads up—that wig shop near Downtown is tucked away in a courtyard. The name starts with a Q... and their selection isn't half bad. Since you have to bring the patient along to try things on, just give them a ring beforehand to let them know when you're coming—they'll save you a parking spot right in front of the shop. It was a total lifesaver for my mom.

Also, make sure you tell your GP to write a prescription specifically for long hair—it bumps up the Medicare coverage (somewhere around $233). You just pay the difference on-site; we ended up paying an extra bit ourselves. For about $1300, $467 you can find some decent wigs, though obviously, the real human hair stuff costs a fortune. Plus, if you buy directly from them, you don't have to deal with the headache of getting the referral validated elsewhere—they handle all that paperwork internally. My best advice? Go during the day—you really need that natural light to see if the color actually looks right 🙂

This probably sounds like a blatant ad for the shop, but honestly, the service was top-notch. Hope this helps 😉 you and anyone else in the same boat.
thanks, already read that a few days ago
Hey everyone, sending good vibes to this thread. My mom was just diagnosed with Stage IV small cell lung cancer a few days ago. The only play they have right now is chemo.
I’m freaking out, honestly—and even though I’m trying to stay upbeat, my gut is telling me things aren't looking great. She’s 63, a smoker, and deals with asthma too. The one silver lining is that getting decent care at the local Mayo Clinic isn't an issue, which helps. Not that I'm dumping all my anxiety on her, obviously. She headed over to the hospital today for some urine tests—just making sure her kidneys can actually handle the hit from the chemo.

I don't think you actually saw it—and honestly, even if you did, those genre shifts mean you wouldn't get it anyway. This whole scene you're describing? It’s not even from the movie we're talking about here.

Did you actually sit through the movie? Not trying to start anything—just asking.
Harold Mendoza59 said:Nah, I just have this nagging feeling about the movie. Seems like some genre shifts to me.

Kid's playing at a wedding for his pregnant ex—he just talked to her yesterday. Even the cop who was hassling him at the station yesterday is there, and nobody even knows who the bride and groom are. Right before they walk out, the band's just like, "Wait, who are we actually playing for?" "No clue, forgot to ask."
It’s those ridiculous coincidences where Washington, D.C. looks like a ghost town with ten people living in it, all totally clueless. That’s just Kulenović's signature dramatic flair, the same stuff you see in Bitanga's work. It isn't a plot hole in the script; it's a plot hole in the writer's head.

So what’s the deal—did you see it or not? Or did you just bolt out the door for some early matinee???😁

🤣

The whole thing about the genre shifts is just laughable... like, seriously? It’s hilarious how critics read it as some "flaw" of the movie, and now suddenly that’s the main reason it supposedly sucks. Look, as a movie, it's fine—if we expect it to stick strictly to whatever genre it starts with and never, ever wander off-track. Maybe Kulenović should've just followed a basic filmmaking manual that says "stay on plot," then maybe some big-shot critics would actually bother watching it. And who knows, if the director wasn't drinking, would he even be able to follow a plot? Hmm, so many questions, so many assumptions...

This movie is legit—a total breath of fresh air compared to the usual trash we get from Hollywood. I caught the premiere (they had it running in two theaters at once) and the crowd was absolutely loving it. Honestly, I haven't laughed that hard in ages, and let’s be real—I almost never bother going to the cinema for an American production.
The visuals are gorgeous, the camerawork is tight, the soundtrack hits the spot, and the characters actually feel like real people. The acting is top-tier and the plot actually makes sense for once. Definitely worth a watch. Some people might not get it, but hey, that's just taste.

ZG: I’m telling you, go see the Miller clinic—definitely recommend them. It's a father-son duo and they are top-tier—been going to them for years and honestly, nothing but praise. Even their colleagues swear by the old man, and the son? Total chip off the old block.
