I passed out at 3:00 AM after knocking back about seven Bud Lights. Between that and being on my feet since 5:00 AM for work, I have absolutely no idea how I’m going to make it through the day.
Any advice, please?🙂

So, why does a hangover actually happen? What's really going on inside your body that makes you feel like death—you know, that nauseating feeling and the pounding headache?

One of the side effects is dehydration, and honestly, drinking some water before you hit the sack helps prevent that absolute disaster of a morning... but why exactly does it work?

I’m talking about pure dehydration here.
Look, a few times when I overdid it, I ended up chugging gallons of non-alcoholic stuff just to compensate. Even though I don't have anything to be 😁, I was slamming all kinds of drinks throughout the night, and I could barely walk the next morning. It wasn't even because I was drunk. 🙂

Ethanol works a lot like an anesthetic—it gives you that weird sensation where you feel way stronger than you actually are.

No matter how much you're pouring down your throat, your body ends up burning through twice as much water just to keep up with the alcohol
That’s why if you want to avoid feeling like absolute death the next morning, you really need to hammer down plenty of water after a night of drinking.

Sugar!
Sugar is actually a phenomenal way to combat a hangover because it helps "lift" you back up.
So, if you wake up feeling absolutely miserable—just grab some chocolate, a pastry, or whatever sweet treat you have on hand.

Since alcohol tends to interfere with how your body absorbs essential vitamins—which is a bit of a bummer, isn't it?—it really is quite wise to make sure you're fueling up with plenty of nutritious food whenever you decide to indulge in a few drinks.

Man, I totally trashed myself starting around 7 PM... kept going til 9... didn't even drink that much (just 3 big beers and a splash of vodka with Red Bull)... but since I never really drink, it absolutely wrecked me!
Shouldn't have gone that hard... now I'm just stuck at home alone while the crew is out having a blast... total fail on my part.
No more heavy drinking for me... honestly, I won't be able to keep up with my buddies for the next week given how much they can handle!
Everyone keeps saying "just drink water"... fine, I'll try... but I'm not sure this strawberry Jane is gonna sit right with me!

I'm definitely scaling back on the drinking... though there's no way I'll be able to keep up with my buddies for the next week given how much they can handle!
Everyone keeps telling me to drink water... so fine, I'll go grab some... but I'm not sure if this strawberry Jane is actually going to sit well with me right now!

That's easy for you to say... it's happened to me too, but once this nasty hangover passes, you'll be right back to drinking just like before.

Drink plenty of water and take an aspirin before bed ☕
When you wake up, if your head is still pounding, grab some Alka-Seltzer and keep up with the water, then maybe a little vitamin-infused juice later. Once you're hungry, just treat yourself to a really solid, delicious meal and you'll be totally fine. 😬

All of this—well, except for the aspirin—actually helped me bounce back after a big company blowout! We started drinking and dancing at 8 PM, and by about 12:30 AM, I could already feel the hangover creeping in while I was still at the party 😂 so I grabbed some bacon and cheese and spent the rest of the night sipping on thick fruit juices... I stayed out until 4 in the morning, and the next day, I actually showed up to work feeling like a total rockstar 😬

Just knock back a shot of vodka or something similar... I can tell you from experience, it works wonders... 👍

A soda (the kind with sugar in it), some coffee, and maybe an egg yolk (obviously I'm not eating them all at once)

The best cure is simply not drinking at all. 😬

I’m definitely going with a Starbucks roast—but don't even think about suggesting anything "light" or decaf. If you try that, you're looking at a one-way ticket to a stomach ache... 😬

Baking soda... just a small spoonful mixed with a little water... I know, it feels like you’re swallowing something lethal, but afterward, you’ll feel 😍
. At the end of the day, it acts as an acid regulator, which is exactly what your body needs 😉
after a night of heavy drinking.

Drink a glass of water with a teaspoon of salt in it—just to get some electrolytes in you...
