Honestly, it drives me absolutely insane when my in-laws keep lecturing me about how I’m wasting money on baby gear and all this little stuff... they act like we’re just going to magically have everything ready the second the kid arrives. Like, yeah, right. So, what am I supposed to do until then? Just conjure her out of thin air using some kind of magic trick? 🙂
My husband’s grandma... she calls or texts every single morning or night just to grill me about whether I've had my milk...🙂 The thing is, I’m lactose intolerant, so obviously I don't touch the stuff. She knows that, too. But her favorite move? Dropping that guilt trip about how the baby won't grow properly if I don't drink it.
Then there's my dad... every time he sees me, he’s all over my stomach, kissing it and rubbing it... and I’m only at 13 weeks. Look, Dad, I get it, you're stoked, but maybe tone down the public displays of affection while we're walking down the street?
And the questions! "What is the baby doing right now?" Like, what am I supposed to say? I have no idea what's going on in there...🙂
Then there’s this other lady who insists I'm totally faking it because I've been throwing up. Her logic? Well, she had two kids and never once dealt with morning sickness, so clearly, I'm just acting.
We grabbed about one kilo each at the table... there were eight people sitting there total... almost all the plates ended up completely empty... My bad... 1.20 kg
I honestly don't know... nowadays, you just can't take anyone at their word, unfortunately. Plus, don't you have anyone you actually know who could hook you up with some decent cookies? Who's even coming in from Washington, D.C.?
A smile is worth $22 lbs... We’re going to sweep them all up... Their cookies are honestly delicious... 🙂 And don't even get me started on the cakes they whip up... 🙂
So, we decided to grab some cookies from Absolut... picked up a whole pound to share with everyone, and honestly? Most people thought they were killer. Everyone loved them except his old man, though. Look, they aren't bad by any means, but if you’re willing to shell out the same amount—or even just a couple bucks more—you can definitely find something way better out there... 😉
I’ve got another question for the group... those little paper cupcake liners used for the treats... does anyone know if you can actually find them in different colors somewhere? Or maybe some that look a bit more high-end than these basic ones I'm stuck with? Any leads?
Monica makes these killer little tartlets $4.00... You might even be able to score a discount if you're ordering in bulk... Honestly, her cakes are absolutely top-tier. 🙂
Hannah Gonzalez39 said:I’m starting this thread because I can't find anything about this online. The last few times I’ve dyed my hair, I’ve noticed that a day or two later, my scalp starts itching like crazy—and that’s regardless of how thoroughly I rinse the color out. On top of that, I get these lumps on my neck about the size of a chickpea, maybe slightly larger, plus two bumps on the back of my head. 😕 To make matters worse, those bumps on my neck start chafing and hurting a bit whenever I tilt my head back. It’s super uncomfortable. After three or four days, everything just settles down and goes back to normal. This happens no matter which brand or shade I use. It’s clearly a reaction to the dye—like an allergy—which probably means I should stop coloring my hair altogether. I know, I know, I need to see a doctor, but I’m sitting here thinking maybe it was just a fluke. But it’s happened twice now, and lately, it seems to happen every single time. Does anyone know anything about this, or has anyone dealt with something similar?
It feels like you’re describing my life... 😕
Sarah Johnson11 said:That sounds like an allergy to certain ingredients in the dye, so I’d strongly suggest you stop coloring your hair immediately. I had the exact same reactions, and taking some allergy meds would calm things down, but my last experience almost ended in a total tragedy. I was covered in sores from head to toe, my ears were swollen, my face was deformed, and my scalp was covered in open wounds that were actually weeping lymph fluid, along with my ears. I felt this intense pressure and pulsing in my brain and ended up in the ER, where doctors fought to save my life for six hours. I finally got tested a couple of months later since my treatment lasted just that long, and they told me to stay far away from hair salons if anyone else is coloring their hair, because I could go into shock. The allergy was terrifying; at the spot where I wore the patch test for 24 hours, a wound opened up that looked like someone had burned me to the bone with a cigarette. My doctor couldn't even believe it, and it took nearly a month to heal. I’m lucky to be alive, and ever since then, I run from hair dye like the plague, just like my doctor advised. I won't even walk into a salon if I hear someone else is dyeing their hair. It’s horrifying and dangerous beyond belief. My advice so you don't end up going through what I did: stay away from dyes. Go to a doctor right now; they’ll likely give you therapy involving injections like dexamethasone or Synopen, plus pills to take for the next few days for the allergy. I’m telling you this based on a truly ugly and painful experience.
😲😲😲 And here I am, scheduled for a color appointment tomorrow...
We picked up some from Absum Inc. just to test them out, but honestly? Total flop. Nobody liked them—not my crew, not his, not even us. It was like they all had this identical, flat taste that just didn't hit. Now we’re seriously considering checking out Smile from Forest Hills instead...
Man... I am seriously counting down the days...😍 We were thinking about grabbing some cupcakes... maybe. I just need to hunt down some cool "decorations" and figure out a vibe. Cakes are honestly the way to go because you can go wild with the toppings and styling, but what can I even do with these? We were actually planning on getting the top floor specifically just so we'd have plenty of room for slicing everything up. 🤷
Man, oh man... 🙂 I am seriously stoked about this... We’re probably just going to swing by her place to grab some cupcakes... because honestly, their cakes are next-level delicious. 🙂
So, we swung by Monica's place in Ann Arbor yesterday... and man, they were absolutely floored. It’s easily our new favorite spot. We tore into this fruit tart, plus some chocolate and vanilla fudge—honestly, it was killer. And the service? Just incredibly sweet people...😉 plus they whip up these insane cupcakes...!!!!😉I'm calling it now, we've found "the one."🙂
