It feels like we see this cycle every year where management talks up a talent to quiet the critics, but nobody actually puts their money where their mouth is until it's too late. Is it better to wait for proven longevity or just lock down a star as soon as they show promise?

don't blame me if you didn't even bother applying for the opening 😕
besides, I should be the one losing my mind here since my resume totally blows hers out of the water and I still didn't get the gig... not to mention Sam Hall15 somehow landed an internship despite having basically zero posts on here 🙄
guess I just need to work on my smoking habit 😎

Man, where did I end up?😲 !
I feel like I'm stuck right in the middle of, as Aunt Polly would say, a complete mess! 😬 😂
Since I clearly can't be Miss America... maybe I should just aim for Miss Chaos?🥳

Sam Hall15 said:Part of being a cultured person is embracing diversity and being tolerant of different ways people talk. Honestly, if we applied that logic, every doctor in NYC should stop using heavy regional slang—not that I do, obviously, I stick to proper American English when I'm seeing patients.
Look, my intentions were purely good... and hey, I’m glad you took it that way. Actually, I’ll go a step further and say I was just teasing. I love a good joke, and honestly? I actually enjoy reading your comments. I think they're pretty chill and actually quite charming.🙂

Sam Hall15 said:hm....it’s not like I don't know them, it’s more just maybe a little rebellion against all that fake, performative "cultured" behavior... I mean, I don't go around dropping f-bombs constantly, but I’m definitely not one for being overly precious with my vocabulary (not that I value people any less because of how they talk) whenever I get the chance, I just speak my mind...
Look, I never said you didn't know them, and I wasn't trying to "teach anyone manners," which is why I told you not to take it personally. I totally get that rebellious streak you're talking about—honestly, I kind of dig that attitude. And I never said I respect people any less just because of their word choice or vocabulary, or whatever you want to call it....
I'm just glad that kind of language isn't part of your professional persona, because... just imagine this: I'm a lawyer by trade, and can you picture me saying "f***" to a client? (or you to a patient) 😱 .
To me, it's not about being "fancy" with words, it's just basic personal decency. 😳

Oh, I totally can... I mean, why wouldn't I? I just kind of fixated on how you used that certain four-letter word in your comment. It felt a little off—honestly, a little awkward—seeing someone so well-educated throw that around in this day and age.
There are plenty of other filler words out there that actually fit the vibe better...🙄

Sam Hall15 said:damn you guys make talking about money sound way too easy... I mean, we aren't talking billions here, but when you realize you could basically walk into a hospital and get everything covered for free... God help us all😁
Yeah... sure, you can get it... if the reaper doesn't grab you first.😬
Don't get mad at me for being blunt... but seriously... I mean... cough cough.🙄

I totally get where you're coming from... honestly, it’s just depressing what people have to deal with just to get a basic checkup. Though, I gotta say, I kind of see both sides—the healthcare system and the doctors who are hesitant to take on new hires because the federal budget is such a mess. Not to mention how much of a nightmare it is to actually land a residency or a grant these days... that part is just tragic.
Maybe try checking in directly with some private clinics to get an idea of the costs? Because let’s be real, I don't know who actually has a massive pile of cash sitting around today where a standard doctor's visit wouldn't break the bank....

Honestly, I’m not even surprised by the way you were treated at the ER. It’s classic. When my mom was dragging me along because I was dealing with dizzy spells and losing my vision, the doctors at the local university hospital basically told us I needed a neurology consult, but since I could still walk, they weren't going to admit me to the ER. (And yeah, we were talking about the neuro ER specifically, just so there’s no confusion). The head of ophthalmology was adamant that they had to take me in because it looked serious, but the staff downstairs kept insisting everything was fine. My mom finally lost her cool and we just bailed and drove straight to Savannah. They admitted me to neurology immediately and the whole diagnostic machine started moving. That’s how I ended up getting diagnosed with MS. I’m not telling you this to freak you out or to suggest that's what you have—not at all. I'm just saying: save yourself the headache, go to a private clinic, and pay for the tests you actually need.
Unfortunately, it usually turns out that we have to figure out where to go, when to go, and who to talk to all on our own, even when we're desperate for help.

Is a major brand's sparkling water toxic?!

Angela Wright said:Look, unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to have tap water that tastes as good as yours. Where I live, it’s absolutely terrible—overloaded with chlorine and has this nasty metallic aftertaste—so...🙂
I’m with you on this one. What else is there to say? Pfffff... don't hate me for saying it, but this "big city" is a total joke. It’s anything but a metropolis. I mean, look at Rome or Munich—you can actually trust the water coming out of your tap there. But here? It’s just one mess after another.👎

Don't be an idiot and sit there waiting for "that manager" to come by for a water sample and "take it off" for testing... Jesus... don't let him play you! Just do it yourself! Go find out what's going on and take it in personally... make sure *you're* the one holding the lab results so this guy doesn't pull a fast one on you. Honestly, I just feel bad for people who buy bottled water... like, "spring" water my foot... give me a break...

Like I said, the pain was brutal. Constant exhaustion, racing heart—that feeling where you think your heart is actually skipping beats.
I’m not sure what triggers a flare-up, but stress? Stress is a total killer. I notice that whenever something stressful happens, the pain in my hands just spikes immediately.
As for how dangerous it is... my primary care doctor basically told me, "If you had to pick one of these illnesses to deal with, this would be the best one."
>>That’s a hell of an image.
Oh, so she "comforted" you by calling it the "best"... seriously? Like, where else are you gonna go, a skipping heart and constant agony? Great advice.

Look, I know it’s hard to give anyone straight answers when I’m out here fighting my own battle with Systemic lupus erythematosus, but I’ve been wondering about how things work with Multiple sclerosis. How heavy does it actually get? Like, what’s the real danger level here? And what else triggers those flares... how do you guys handle the stress?

She was on corticosteroids—Prednisone and one other, I can't remember the name now (feeling pretty spacey since I went through it myself🙄
I have this buddy... they just found out two months ago, he's only 34... I've been reading up on it online... he's feeling pretty rough and isn't exactly doing great...
I really want to wrap my head around what this actually entails...
Homemade moonshine as a painkiller?
in Health ·
It’s absolute perfection for those minor little ailments. I actually scored two liters of some homemade pear brandy that’s been aging for 15 years, and honestly? I’m hoarding it like crazy just for moments like this. It’s way better—and definitely healthier—than any overpriced pill you can grab at a CVS. I don't even care for the taste much, but when I'm feeling under the weather, I just take a tiny sip and boom, instant relief.😬 😬 😬
