High CPU/RAM usage issues in IT Support ·
What the hell is actually killing my PC and how do I fix this mess?
Just took some screenshots from Tacoma a few minutes ago.
The numbers are all over the place—totally erratic. My disk usage spiked to 100% then immediately tanked to 2%. CPU was sitting at 76% before dropping down to 9%. I snapped these screenshots about 10 seconds in, right after I started doing stuff in Portland.

How do I restore my Google account? in IT Support ·
Yeah, you nailed it. Exactly.
Thanks for the link, man. I'm gonna give it a shot.👍
How do I restore my Google account? in IT Support ·
So, sometimes when my PC crashes or shuts down, Google actually lets me hit that restore button and everything comes back—but other times? Total bust. It just won't work. Why is it so hit-or-miss? Is there some kind of secret workaround to get all my windows back if I click "restore" and nothing happens? Like, can I force it?

Oh, and while we're on the subject—how do I fix this annoying issue where my computer randomly starts crawling like a snail for no reason?

fadedorca66 said:Look, we're talking about bottom-of-the-barrel power supplies here—they're all basically the same junk. First off, there’s no actual model or brand listed, so we're flying blind. Even if you compare Spira to EZ cool, EZ cool looks better on paper, but honestly? That's just a sticker. Those cheap units always lie about their specs—they'll claim some massive wattage that they can only hold for maybe ten seconds before dying. It's all a scam. 😬

My advice? Stay far away from those budget units. But hey, since the PC is old anyway, I guess it'll do the job for a bit. Just make sure whatever you grab is actually new...

Thanks.👍

What do you think about this PSU down here?

It's some random Chinese unit I found via a QR code online, but the whole description is in Chinese.

Man, I think it’s finally time to swap out my power supply.

Hand rash help? in Health ·
So, a few days ago this nasty rash popped up on my left hand—totally annoying. I tried dabbing some boric acid on it, which seemed to take the edge off a little bit, I guess. But then I went and used this homemade herbal salve I picked up from a local apothecary, and man, that was a huge mistake. It didn't help at all; if anything, it made things way worse. Honestly, my hands always act up when winter hits—the skin just cracks wide open and stays miserable. I’m basically living in gloves at this point, constantly slathering stuff on just to get through the day. Does anyone actually know a decent cream or maybe a natural remedy that actually works? Thanks in advance.
Grace Sanders24 said:Just Google "package tracking" or something. There are a ton of different trackers out there—just try them all. Sometimes these systems are absolute garbage and take a few extra days just to refresh the data. 🍿

Look, I've tried everything under the sun and nothing works—it's been two whole days already (and honestly, by 6 PM today, we're hitting day three).
So, what’s everyone’s deal with international shipping lately? I just had a package sent over from Greece last night around 6 PM—and yeah, the local post office here stays open until 8 PM—but get this: the sender gave me the tracking number, and yet... nothing. Absolutely zilch. It’s not even showing up in the system yet! Is that just how it goes, or am I getting ghosted by the logistics gods? Also, where do you guys actually track your stuff? Do you use some kind of universal tracker site, or do you stick strictly to the official USPS page?
Flat feet help? in Health ·
So, is walking on rocks actually a good move if you've got flat feet? I went ahead and built this little pebble path in my backyard—total DIY project—and I was thinking about hitting it for maybe 15 minutes at a time.

And, just being real here, does anyone actually know how long it takes for an adult to fix flat feet? Like, is there a timeline for when things actually straighten out?
What’s the deal with these eyelid lifting exercises in the link below? Like, is there any chance they actually backfire—maybe by making the muscles even looser or something? I really need an actual expert to weigh in here before I try anything stupid.

Also, what's the verdict on those Wonderstripes patches? Anyone here actually use them, or maybe know someone who does?

Kidney ultrasound in Health ·
Can someone please tell me how much an ultrasound costs at a private doctor's office, and what they're charging for just a standard checkup these days?

Thanks.😁

Angela Wright said:Just go see your regular doctor with a referral—unless you’re planning on paying out of pocket at a private clinic.
They'll just have you lie down, feel around your abdomen and groin, and maybe check your testicles too, just to rule out a hydrocele.

So I can just go to a private specialist then? No need to deal with the local clinic?

If we're talking about a lump, does it actually have to be felt? Like, is this kind of thing where a bump is always a mandatory symptom, or can it hide? Because I've been poking around myself and honestly, I haven't felt a damn thing—but hey, I'm just some guy, not a medic, and I don't see anything on the surface either.

Also, is there any chance those pains were just kidney stones or some grit passing through?
Groin pain in Health ·
Thanks.

So, first I gotta hit up my primary care doc at the clinic, and then I move on to the surgeon?
Also, do you have any clue what the actual exam is like—do they actually check out the testicles and the prostate?
Groin pain in Health ·
I knew something was up. Just wanted to give an update—everything felt pretty fine last night, I could move around normally and all, except for one thing: lying on my back was pure agony. Since I was hitting the books for about three hours, I ended up switching to my stomach, and even then, lying on my back still felt super weird—though way less intense than a few hours prior—so I just crashed on my side. I actually woke up in the middle of the night, rolled onto my back just to test the waters, and guess what? No pain. Seriously. Woke up this morning feeling totally fine, like nothing even happened. If we're talking about a minor hernia here, I read somewhere that you don't even need surgery for the mild cases, right? Also, quick question—I was reading that prevention usually means working on strengthening your core, so can I actually keep doing sit-ups and stuff?
Groin pain in Health ·
Man, this is the second time I’ve dealt with this specific pain—something I’ve never felt before. I’m gonna break down both times so you guys get the full picture.

1. The first time happened while I was just vibing to some music and pacing around my apartment. I stopped and tried to twist my torso to the right as much as I could—not really turning my feet, just shifting my upper body—and suddenly, I felt this sharp twinge. I don't even know how to describe it... like a vein or something just snapped tight. I didn't think much of it at the time and headed over to my armchair. As soon as I flopped back into the cushions to watch TV, boom—the pain hit me right in that spot, you know, where the left leg meets the... uh, groin area? I don't even know the anatomy terms, honestly. I went over to the bed and stretched my legs out. The pain lasted for a few seconds, and once I stood up, it was totally gone.

2. Fast forward to the second time—I got home from college and was just trying to unwind when it hit me again. This time, it actually stuck around longer. When I'm sitting down, it's fine. But the second I stretch my legs out to lie down, I feel this pain shooting through half my body—specifically the left side, from where the leg connects to the torso all the way up to just below the stomach, right at that crease between the belly and the junk (whatever that part is called). Even walking upright triggers it. It actually reminded me of this thing my gym coach told me once—he said if you get hit in the groin with a ball, just do a few squats and it'll ease up. So, that's basically what I did here. Thank Bog, it's gone now. Basically, being hunched over or sitting kept it away, but stretching out to lie down or walking caused this intense pulling sensation, like a tendon tightening up. And oh, one more thing—my junk actually retracted/shrank. I don't know if it was the pain or just straight-up fear, because I'm a total hypochondriac when it comes to my health, and this really freaked me out.

So, what the hell could this be? Just a heads up, there was a ten-day gap between the first and second time. Also, after the first incident, I had some drinks that night and spent the whole following week absolutely crushing sit-ups.

Could it be from sitting in those cramped-ass lecture hall benches at the university? I really had to tighten my belt, so to speak. Those benches are garbage—they aren't built for someone my height. They're so narrow that I practically have to sprawl my legs out just to be comfortable.

Is it possible the alcohol is the culprit? I’ve been out partying maybe ten times this month, but I wasn't exactly going overboard or anything.

Or could it be the ab workouts? I've been doing a massive amount of sit-ups—like 800 of them—so maybe it's some kind of inflammation or something?

I know I'm rambling like a maniac here, but I can't help it—I'm still pretty shaken up since this second bout happened only an hour or two ago.

Thanks for any input.
Western Union in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
So, I’ve got a few things bugging me about using Western Union to move some cash.

Can you actually send money through the post office, or am I stuck strictly dealing with banks?

And if I go the bank route, do I seriously need to be a customer there with an actual account?

From what I can gather, all I really need is my ID or passport, the amount I'm sending, the recipient's name, and whatever country they're hanging out in.

But here's the kicker—since I'm sending this abroad and we're talking different currencies, do I pay in US dollars, or do I have to deal with whatever local currency they use over there?
