Hey everyone, I'm a bit of a newcomer to this discussion.
My question is pretty straightforward; The updated forms from Western Union now require a Social Security Number, which basically means the IRS can easily track down whoever is receiving the funds.
I need to find a way to transfer 15,000 USD from abroad without getting hit by a massive tax bill... Before anyone starts jumping down my throat about tax evasion, please, just help me out if you know a way.
If I were to process this through a standard employment contract, I'd be looking at roughly $8,600 in taxes, which honestly feels absolutely insane.
Is there a specific threshold where the IRS doesn't really care about what's coming through Western Union? And is it even possible to pick up the cash without showing an ID, perhaps by using a different SSN?
Your choice of music really boils down to the specific crowd you’re trying to lure through the doors. Around here, there’s this one spot that kills it by playing experimental jazz, then they’ll pivot into something like that first link you shared—I've caught them spinning The Smiths or Sigur Rós a few times. They might even throw on some Jack Johnson to round things out. Since they invested in high-end speakers, the volume can actually carry a bit of weight without drowning out the conversation.
Sandra Cox66 said:Hey everyone... how's it going? I've been wondering lately about the actual market value of a 49er—whether you're looking to pick up something brand new or if you'd rather hunt down a solid used model—and I’m curious how the pricing compares here in the States versus what you might find on the international market. Does anyone have a handle on the current price tags for these? Is there anything quite as striking as a perfectly tuned racing yacht, boasting a sleek carbon fiber rig and outfitted with nothing but the highest-end gear? Take a look at this one in the photo, for instance:Is there anything quite as captivating as seeing a high-performance racing machine pushed to its absolute limit on the water? I was just looking at this shot of a 49er class skiff, and it really makes you wonder about the sheer physical demand placed on those sailors. You look at the way the hull sits, the tension in the lines, and that aggressive angle of attack, and you have to ask: how much raw strength and split-second intuition does it take to keep a boat like that from simply capsizing the moment a gust hits? It’s a beautiful, chaotic dance between human skill and the elements, isn't it?
New money, all wrapped up in carbon fiber, double denier, the whole nine yards... because just a few years back, I was looking at an $18,000 windfall. You can typically pick up a used one starting at around $3,000 if you know where to look.
You’ve got a handful of them scattered around Zanesville, a few more tucked away in Savannah, and then maybe three or four holding down the fort over in Des Moines. Honestly, I haven't the slightest clue how much that would come to at this point.
Does anyone happen to know where on earth I can track down a replacement valve for those inflatable air mattresses? I was under the impression Top Shop might carry them, but now I'm second-guessing everything. Our dog decided that the plug looked far too much like a chew toy, and now we’re left staring at a useless piece of plastic that’s effectively turned our bed into nothing more than a glorified floor mat. It feels like we don't even have a bed at all, doesn't it?
So, I finally got around to it... The lady at the service desk mentioned that the new jackets should be arriving this coming Monday.
Hey everyone, I really am sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I was out of town for about a week and a half, and honestly, once I got back home, I just ended up being completely swamped with things to do... It’s such a shame, too, because if I had bothered to double-check the address earlier, I could have swung by while I was in Chicago a few times last week—I actually had quite a bit of downtime during those trips...
I finally tracked down the Knight's address. It’s a stroke of luck for him, considering I just lost my job—which, if we’re being honest, is more of a disaster for me I'll be sending it out this Monday.
I still haven't heard back regarding the address from the next person on my list... I sent over a private message, but absolutely nothing has come through yet 🤷
Man, I honestly can't decide how to feel about this... What’s the deal? All the DVDs finally showed up, but of course, the one I was most looking forward to—The Band—is the only one acting up. 😬
So, there are two folders, one for audio and one for video; the video folder is packed, but the audio side is totally empty... I've got the visuals, but there's absolutely no sound. Still, I guess it's fine, since everything else is working perfectly. 👍
The Cure DVD is actually fantastic... though that Journey recording from '87 is sounding pretty thin. But all things considered, it's a solid collection. 😁
I'll try to get the next batch sent out by Friday.
I’ve got their latest record lying around, whatever the hell they're calling it these days...
Look, I didn't just say that to be contrarian 😉 It’s just not like when they were performing as Talking Heads - New York back in the day; without George Harrison, they just don't have that same magic, you know?
Oh, man, Leb i sol... now we're talking! 👍 I actually have five of their original records sitting on my shelf; they've always been my absolute favorite band from all over the States. Plus, if you look at the numbers, they were easily the most played group throughout this past year. 👍
Alright, I've sent my address over to Wicked... Once my package arrives, I’ll probably spend a day or two getting everything sorted out before passing it along to the next person on the list. 👋
👍 I’d jump at the chance to grab 😁 right this second. Just a quick question though—roughly how much would it cost to ship six DVDs to someone, and what’s the best way to go about sending them?
I’m still dealing with a bit of a cough, but I think I'm turning a corner.
I actually cranked the thermostat up to 77 degrees just so I could feel cozy enough to lounge around in shorts. I haven't even stepped foot outside once in the last twenty-four hours. Just staying hydrated and taking a little extra Vitamin C, nothing too crazy.
I’m not sure if you guys can actually relate, but I seem to have developed this uncanny knack for sensing a cold before it even hits.
Take yesterday, for instance; I woke up feeling just slightly off, let out a couple of sneezes, and immediately knew what was coming. A cold was definitely on the horizon, and naturally—because why would I do anything sensible like staying warm?—I decided to head straight out into the rain. But whatever. I woke up today feeling fully under the weather. So, my current strategy involves a heavy rotation of soups, herbal teas, and hot cocoa. Lunch is looking pretty low-key, just some chicken and nothing too heavy. And I'll probably hunt down some Vitamin C if there's any left in the pantry.
Is success guaranteed? Of course not. There’s a very real possibility this thing is going to absolutely wreck me, though I’d say I have maybe a 50/50 shot at bouncing back within a day or two.
What about you all—do you have any go-to methods for killing a cold right at the starting line? Do you just hammer yourself with antibiotics? Or go overboard with vitamins?
Has anyone actually discovered a formula that works every single time? Please, share your wisdom. (I really need to go blow my nose.)
I caught him live at the Crystal Ballroom in Chicago, and man, it was just magnificent... the sound, the feeling, the whole vibe... everything about it was spot on. The crowd was right there with him, singing along, clapping, keeping the beat... the whole show went for about three hours, though he actually played for two of them... truly incredible stuff.👍 ž
A true guitar virtuoso. By the end of the set, you can't help but wonder... is this guy just a freak of nature? "Was he just born with a guitar in his hands?"😁 That instrument is practically an extension of his soul...👍
