Well, isn't it just typical of Madonna? She’s always had this uncanny, almost obsessive knack for sniffing out the weirdest little trends and deciding they absolutely deserve a massive push. In this latest video, she decided to lean hard into that whole "Rice" dance craze—though, if you want the real tea, she actually scrapped the whole thing halfway through production because of some "creative differences," yet somehow those snippets still managed to end up 😁

I caught this one on a massive screen here in SC, and I have to say, the experience was absolutely breathtaking. But honestly? If they had just trimmed about twenty minutes off the runtime, it would have been perfect. 😁
Personally, I think "Spirited Away" takes the win every single time.
What an absolute masterpiece of an album! Honestly, there isn't a single flaw to be found... the songwriting, the production, everything is just spot on. I actually caught them playing about four or five of these new tracks live at Lollapalooza earlier this year, so I felt pretty prepared going in. There are easily 4 or 5 massive singles in here, making it 100% 😁

ps. Outsiders and I'm Your Villain are definitely the standout tracks for me.

And let’s be real, the lead actor was acting way too "extra" in this one, don't you think?😁
Magnum Opus!*

*- Or rather, it's a much better "Wonka-esque" flick than any of the ones this guy has pumped out himself. 😍

Honestly, that stands as one of the most incredible documentaries ever made about the filmmaking process... truly, hands down.
... I mean, can you imagine the sheer chaos? They start out trying to get things moving, only to realize they've set up shop right next to a massive military base where fighter jets are constantly screaming overhead 😂
Uh, what an absolute list 😁
I can't offer much in terms of deep analysis here, but if we're just going off the titles alone, I’d definitely be gravitating toward these: 😂

Blood Sisters
Psycho
Fortress
I Was a Teenage Werewolf
American Pie
Mad Max
Surf Nazis Must Die!

🤣 🤣

Ugh, honestly, this "Digital Ash in a Digital Urn" is just a total disaster—a complete waste of megabytes. I mean, the music video for "Easy / Lucky / Free" was actually pretty engaging to watch, so I figured it might be worth a shot, but...
\n\nIt’s got a few decent moments here and there, I guess, but let’s be real: Oberst would be much better off just writing a book instead of trying to package his brilliant songwriting with this kind of music. 👎

Look, I'll say it: it isn't actually that bad... I mean, you've got Takeshi Kitano showing up in the movie, haven't you? 😁

A complete masterpiece.🙂

So, I actually sat down a few weeks ago and revisited Waking Life... and honestly? It hit me way harder than it did the first time around. It’s almost like the movie needs a bit of time to just sort of "settle" in your mind, you know? You can't rush it; it kind of needs to drift into your consciousness and align itself with your headspace at exactly the right moment to really land. 😉
And I have to say, even the soundtrack really hit the right note for me this time around—it had that specific, sophisticated "art-tango" vibe that just seemed to settle perfectly into the atmosphere of the film.
Presidential Lies in Movies ·
The movie was filmed two years before the attacks hit... and man, is it good. Of course, everything that went down in real life afterward just adds this surreal layer of intensity to the whole experience.
It’s honestly bizarre when you think about how NBC aired this film several times right at the start of the bombing raids... probably trying to use it as some kind of twisted "proof" of things to come, I guess? 🙄 But let me tell you, watching this thing while explosions are actually thundering around you is one hell of a trip.🤔
Matthew Herbert in Music ·
So, I was out in New York City last night, and man, what a blast.
Matthew Herbert is honestly in a league of his all his own... it’s not your typical DJ set, you know? He leans so heavily into those jagged, high-octane rhythms, and there’s hardly any vocals to speak of... (which, let's be honest, can get a little tedious if they drag on too long 😁 ). Toward the end, things finally picked up with some sets from Mu, The Ting Tings, and of course The Audience alongside Bodily Functions.

But if I'm being totally honest, I still walked away from his live performance with the Big Band two years ago with a much stronger impression... I mean, you don't just see that every day, does it? Watching a dozen musicians absolutely shred through those rhythmic, percussive patterns 😁

Jonathan Ward5 said:Wait, what exactly is this FEST? Is it just some big festival or an awards ceremony? And what was Alex de la Iglesia actually rambling about? 😁

@Robert Cooper41/">@@Robert Cooper41: honestly, now that I look back, I realize what a total blunder I made in my last post... yeah, I see now that he's definitely one of those "left-leaning" types 😁 , but frankly, it doesn't change much. I don't really resonate with either of them, unfortunately. 😁

FEST is the big film festival held in Mexico City.

The woman on the right is female... and that’s where the real hook of the plot lies: she's standing next to the main flirtatious guy at a massive department store, but the crudest woman there catches him during a certain... let's call it a "random" murder, and then forces him into the exact situation depicted in the photo—a wedding! 😁

Alex de la Iglesia actually came out on stage alongside the screenwriter to address the audience, though he didn't say a single word about his own movie... instead, he spent the time venting about how the women in Mexico City are way too tall for the short, stout Spanish guys, while noting how great it is that everyone is just focused on eating and drinking! 😁
He was wearing this massive T-shirt the whole time that said "The Misfits".

And yes, he is a huge fan of American comics, those old-school genre films from the 1950s, and all things trashy...

Jonathan Ward5 said:Oh, for heaven's sake!!! Why on earth didn't I catch this post when it actually mattered? 🙄 ...because by now, that whole festival is surely long gone, and I haven't even mentioned that I should have asked Alex de la Iglesia to cast me in his next flick! I mean, honestly, I've got all the right qualities: I can scream hysterically in Spanish—"Deja me John!!"—and if the scene calls for it, I’m perfectly willing to wear a wet T-shirt. Surely that would be enough to get my foot in the door, wouldn't it? 😁 AAah... excuse me, the lady with the cookies just walked by.

BUT ANYWAY... The Community airs this Thursday, March 31st on ABC at 11:55 PM. So, if anyone happens to be watching, feel free to jump into this incredibly deep and meaningful discussion. 😁

You probably would have made the cut with those "acting" skills of yours. 😁
Though, mind you, the requirements for "Crimen Ferpecto" were a little different:

The film is fantastic, maybe even better than "The Community"... though I really ought to give that one another look just to be sure.
A lucky real estate agent... A decomposing corpse... A community of greedy neighbors... 300 million hidden under a floor tile... Something stinks in this house. 😁 😁

a/n Antony and the Johnsons - "I am the Bird Now" I am absolutely obsessed with this album.
This New York icon uses such an incredible, unconventional falsetto over the piano to belt out these deeply raw, gut-wrenching stories. While following along with The Johnsons, who stay 😁 wonderfully subtle in the background, you'll even hear cameos from Antony's circle of friends like Boy George, Rufus Wainwright, Lou Reed, and Devendra Banhart...

Enki Bilal's Immortal (Immortel) in Movies ·
I honestly think the more accurate translation would be "Immortal." The film was actually directed by the renowned comic book artist Enki Bilal (Enes Bilalovic), based on his own graphic novel.
From what I’ve gathered through the grapevine, the visuals are absolutely breathtaking—truly a spectacle—but the actual plot? Well, let's just say the story is a bit thin.
The Community in Movies ·
"The Community" is absolutely fantastic, though if you really want to elevate your game, you should hunt down "The Day of the Beast"—it’s even better, trust me!!
by the way, Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro González Iñárritu are both Mexican.

[off] Alex de la Iglesia is actually heading over to New York in about ten days for the festival! 🙏
NFL Discussion in Other Sports ·
I am absolutely livid with Donovan McNabb... those deep passes he kept throwing were nothing short of disastrous. 😠 That being said, if we’re looking at the cold, hard facts, the Patriots truly earned this championship title... I mean, when the pressure is at its absolute peak, Tom Brady just completely dominates the field.
Sideways in Movies ·
I actually found the movie quite charming... in terms of its vibe and story, it feels like a mix between "Swingers" and "Ghost World." And man, Giamatti is absolutely brilliant.
I have to say, though, the sheer volume of positive reviews feels a bit bizarre, doesn't it!? I suppose if you just throw anything at the wall, American critics will act completely shocked when they stumble upon a film this unpretentious.
It’s a must-watch!
USA-Mexico and Mexico in Other Sports ·
Well—CONGRATULATIONS!
Man... that was a nail-biter from start to finish, wasn't it? Just one or two plays at the very end made all the difference. I suppose that’s just what happens when you have that veteran experience in high-stakes, unpredictable, must-win games, which really works in America's favor.

Now, look, the officiating was a bit bizarre at times, but I don't walk away feeling like they handed them the game (even if Dominikovic claims it was finally a call in their favor 😁 ). The real takeaway here is that despite our own mistakes—you know, those missed penalties and open shots—and even with the dominance shown by sterbikov, America just couldn't pull ahead during that first half.
Or, looking at it from another angle, maybe the American defense just did the heavy lifting early on, especially with how they shut down Nikolic.

So, when is the next handball match on the schedule? 😬
