Sash: Vol. II in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Let me say this one more time: someone actually caught a ban for starting a completely pointless thread, and then the whole thing was shut down or deleted—honestly, who cares which one happened
after all that nonsense, we’re just moving right along as usual
last time I checked: look, I feel bad that some of you seem to be struggling to grasp the situation here, but frankly, that isn't my problem to solve
everyone is more than welcome to jump in with constructive topics, actual suggestions, or legitimate complaints, but we aren't going to tolerate spamming or trolling on this subforum
take that thread about how "I don't like emoji xy," which adds absolutely zero value to anyone
amen

Look, I’m basically the definition of Midwestern culture, but honestly, this whole thing has absolutely nothing to do with that

I already gave you the exact reason why you’re getting flagged, and I’ve gone over it several times now, so there's really no point in dancing around it
honestly, we’ve reached the limit here
Advertising and anti-advertising in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, at the end of the day, a moderator really ought to be reading through threads properly and cleaning up the mess
but honestly, sometimes it’s just an exhausting amount of work, and if you're just skimming or trying to fly through everything, it's incredibly easy to miss something important
having user reports is an indispensable tool for that

that being said, if a mod only ever reacts to reports without actually doing any other upkeep, then they're basically failing at the job
it’s just as bad if a mod jumps on a report without actually taking the time to grasp the context of the conversation first

Look, I’m not trying to step on anyone's toes here, but honestly, it feels like the right time to jump in. You’re sitting there asking for an explanation regarding that first and third card, and frankly, we're all waiting. That third card came courtesy of none other than Tyndall, so maybe it’s about time Tyndall actually shows up and explains what was going through his head with that one. And while we're at it, you should probably explain your own first card too—because, if I'm being blunt, what exactly did you even explain? It felt like a whole lot of nothing.🤷

He actually went ahead and admitted that his second yellow was totally deserved.

I honestly can't wrap my head around how you guys actually managed to pull off banning both papija and Alex Cook. It’s just baffling, really.🙏🙏🙏

Let’s take it slow here: you go ahead and open some completely pointless thread just because you aren't a fan of a smiley face.
You’re gonna get a ban for opening such a pointless thread.
What part of this is still unclear?
And then you go ahead and start insulting people, only to end up getting slapped with a warning card for being abusive.
And then you go right ahead and start another thread just to act surprised, only to inevitably end up getting banned anyway.

I mean, seriously, which part of this is actually unclear? How much more time am I supposed to waste explaining something that’s staring everyone right in the face, and exactly how long does someone have to play dumb before the permanent bans finally start rolling in?

If you ask me, the group mentioned above really ought to be feeling pretty grateful for the sheer amount of patience the local moderators and site admins have been showing them lately.

urbanhawk17, I am asking you—and please, just once, take a second to actually read my previous post again, slowly and carefully this time, before you even think about typing out another response
if you and your little group of friends want to spend your time playing dumb and acting confused, that’s entirely your prerogative, but honestly, go do it somewhere else where you aren't getting in everyone's way

Banned moderators! What happened?! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, at the end of the day, getting your posts flagged or catching a ban is strictly a private matter between the users and the site admins; it’s got absolutely nothing to do with the general public at large
Seth's Story in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You go ahead and start some completely pointless thread and then act all shocked when you get banned
then you throw a fit and somehow find it just as baffling
so you move on to start yet another one only to end up with another ban—which, honestly, you didn't even get from me this time
but I guess you just sit there in total disbelief, expecting someone to be at your beck and call to argue with you and explain things over and over again??
Look, sorry, but you really should have learned how basic etiquette works before you showed up on an online forum, or frankly, anywhere else in society for that matter
I simply don't have the willpower, the time, the patience, or the tolerance for it
Politics Moderation! in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I went ahead and shut down the previous thread because it was turning into a total disaster zone—just complete and utter chaos that nobody could follow
and look, like hollowtrucker77 was saying, if you have an issue with a specific post, just report it, but if you’ve got a bone to pick with a moderator or how things are being run here, then feel free to start a whole new topic right here
Archery enthusiasts in Other Sports ·
Did you seriously not read that other thread?
Alright, let's go over this one more time: a bow is a pretty serious piece of equipment, and honestly, it’s unlikely you’d even be able to draw it back in the first place.
And look, it’s not because you’re some weakling or anything, it’s just that drawing a bow requires a very specific set of muscle groups to work together properly.
On top of that, there are several technical details you have to nail if you want to avoid injuring yourself during the draw and release.
🙂
I’d have no problem letting you try to pull my bow, but most likely you'll just end up staring wide-eyed in shock at how hard it is, and there's a real chance you could tweak a shoulder or tear a ligament.
So, your best bet is to just head down to a local archery club to see how things actually work; once you see it in action, the whole situation will probably make a lot more sense to you.

You can't really get anywhere close to actually feeling what it's like to shoot a bow and arrow
🙂
I mean, technically you could—I could hand you some cheap kid's toy bow and just stand you three feet away from the target

but let's be honest, that isn't archery, and it certainly isn't going to give you any idea of what the sport is actually about

Alright, look, I think it’s high time we actually de-escalate things and start focusing on the issues that actually matter here, rather than just spinning our wheels,

Just so everyone's clear, I've officially handed out a ban to one of the users from the main thread topic.
