Flat feet help? in Health ·
So, my four-year-old just got hit with a diagnosis of pes planus, which apparently happened because some orthopedic specialist swung by his preschool for foot screenings and decided that was his lot in life, though none of the teachers there can actually wrap their heads around what that even means in plain English...
The big recommendation they handed me was to make sure he’s wearing "proper footwear," but honestly, he’s already wearing the standard anatomical stuff you'd find at a place like Stride Rite or even Target, so I'm feeling a bit lost here.
I could really use someone to break this down for me, if anyone actually knows what's going on.
Help! I think I lost my brain! in Psychology ·
So, I went and passed my driving test about two weeks ago, and honestly, my medical clearance was already ten months old at the time, but nobody gave me any grief about needing a fresh one because, thanks to those new regulations that kicked in back on New Year's Day, that paperwork stays valid for eighteen months now.
Based on what you're saying, it sounds like there's a bit of a hole in your logic somewhere.
And besides, that little exam doesn't actually measure how sharp we are or how high our IQ really is.
Don't sweat it, the main thing is that you officially have your license, so just grab the keys and goooooooo drive.🙂
Motion sickness while driving in Health ·
Personally, I find it works much better if I just close my eyes and visualize myself possessing the kind of overwhelming love Madonna radiates, combined with the physical grace of Seve and that razor-sharp intellect of Adlešićka🤣🤣🤣
it really does the trick for me🤷
now, is that technically considered homeopathy?
but honestly, it works....

I feel compelled to jump in here and just say that placidjackal36 is absolutely spot on! This whole situation is turning into a complete circus... especially with those guides they're using!
Motion sickness while driving in Health ·
I don't get the whole motion sickness thing on planes at all, honestly; I once flew for twelve hours straight without feeling a single bit of nausea, though maybe that was just the sheer terror taking over back when the World Trade Center towers fell. But put me in a car? I'm completely out of commission, especially if there’s that overwhelming "new car smell" lingering in the air or if someone starts reading the newspaper next to me—just the sight of those moving letters makes my stomach turn. I suspect it's all happening up in the brain, perhaps some little tube in my head isn't wired quite right? And as for ships, forget about it; just imagine if I actually won some grand prize trip for a luxury cruise!
Always hungry? in Health ·
That was my exact situation when I found out I was pregnant, because I actually had my period and had absolutely no clue anything was changing, so I just kept eating and eating, and now here I am, struggling to lose the weight...
Heatwave! in Health ·
Maybe try some ginger ale, or just a handful of almonds... honestly, you’re probably better off steering clear of alcohol and anything with heavy spices for now, so just look at where you ended up... but seriously, ginger ale is a total lifesaver!
I need some help/advice in Health ·
I deal with that exact same thing myself, though what really gets under my skin is when I’m finally trying to drift off to sleep and it feels like my heart is just thumping rhythmically right inside my ears! It’s honestly exhausting, so maybe it’s high time everyone just goes to see their doctor to get checked out properly.
Female vs. male OB-GYNs: Any preferences? in Women's Health ·
I actually have this wonderful male gynecologist...
I went to see a female doctor once, and let me tell you, I am never going back—and it isn’t because of her medical expertise or anything like that, but simply because the whole experience was just incredibly uncomfortable, you know? Having a woman touch me in that way feels a bit perverse to me, which maybe isn't fair to say, but that gut feeling is just stronger than any logic, and I just can't deal with it.
I really don't like being touched by anyone except my partner, but when it's absolutely necessary, I'd much rather it be a man... preferably one who actually knows how to behave properly.
How to deal with an ingrown toenail? in Health ·
granitebear7 said:I’ve been dealing with this nightmare of an ingrown toenail, and honestly, I feel like I’ve tried everything under the sun, from trying to rip it out myself—which was a mistake—to sitting through seven months of professional pedicures that barely made a dent in the problem, so I’m wondering if anyone actually knows of some other way to fix this or if there's a top-tier specialist out there who can actually get it done right so I don't have to deal with this misery ever again, thanks!

I went through the exact same ordeal for a long time, though things are okay for now, at least. I just stick to seeing a professional because I really don't want to mess things up by trying to DIY it... there's a salon called Nail Oasis over in San Francisco, so if you happen to be in that area, go see them because they were a lifesaver for me, though maybe you should just talk to a doctor if nothing else works, since surgeons can just step in and handle it, and apparently, it doesn't even hurt once it's over.
Period talk: Questions and advice in Women's Health ·
Jessica King16 said:I suppose I should probably address the whole situation regarding Vrkuta, though honestly, looking at how things tend to spiral, it’s hard to say if anyone actually cares enough to change anything. It’s just one more thing on the pile, another layer of complexity in an already exhausting landscape where nothing ever seems to quite land where you expect it to. You look at these developments and you see the same patterns repeating, the same predictable cycles of chaos and supposed progress that don't actually move the needle for any of us regular people just trying to navigate the day. It feels like we're all just circling the same drain, watching these events unfold with this heavy sense of inevitability that settles in your bones, making you wonder why we even bother debating the specifics when the outcome feels so preordained by the sheer weight of institutional inertia.🙏 It honestly makes a difference, and I’m telling you, while it isn't going to knock back the pain quite like popping a couple of Advil or some heavy-duty prescription stuff, it actually provides a level of relief that's worth noting.

Where on earth am I even supposed to find this stuff, and more importantly, how are you actually supposed to take it without making a mess of things? It’s just one of those things where you realize everything changes once you go through it, because honestly, I didn't have any of these issues before I went through labor, but now that I'm on the other side of it, good grief, the pain is just absolutely relentless.
Dieting, starvation... in Health ·
I feel like I’m seriously lacking a bit of discipline lately—honestly, I kind of need someone to play drill sergeant for me because where on earth did that willpower I had three months ago disappear to? It’s just one of those things, you know, I spend my entire day whipping up different meals for the family, and since I’m the one cooking, I feel like I shouldn't even be tasting anything, which is a struggle. But anyway, I’ve actually managed to stay on track for two days now and things are finally starting to move in the right direction... I just have to push through because summer is coming and it’s going to be absolutely brutal. I’m planning to head out with the kids to go foraging for some wild ramps or something just to get a little bit of iron back into my system.
Dieting, starvation... in Health ·
Honestly, I don’t know a single soul who actually got sick from following this diet, nor have I met anyone who just ended up gaining all the weight right back, though I do know plenty of people who successfully slimmed down and gave me the push I needed to finally feel better about myself. I’m a very conscientious person by nature, so I don't go messing around with those nonsense fad diets—except for that two-day stint on nothing but cabbage soup, which, God forbid, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy... absolute nightmare!
I eat healthy, I stick to nutritious foods, and I don't overindulge, plus I stay active, yet for some reason, the scale just won't budge, which means I need a little dietary help, and this UN plan is genuinely fantastic. As for that fruit one... well, you can just grab some vegetables instead and there's no issue. Personally, I find this much more manageable than trying to go for a run on an empty stomach at the crack of dawn, which would require me to drag myself out of bed at 5:00 AM just to get everything done. Everyone has their own system, so please, just don't come for my diet...
Dieting, starvation... in Health ·
Have you ever messed around with the UN diet? It’s basically just eating hearty stews and soups, but you have to be smart about how you schedule everything. I actually managed to drop 20 pounds myself, and honestly, I'm eyeing a little more weight loss now. The best part was that I never felt like I was starving, and I haven't gained a single ounce back since I finished.
