New Seagate and Dell setup. in Desktops ·
You've got it a bit mixed up here 🙂

An LCD is an LCD—it’s just a thin Dell with an IPS panel, right? This means you get the same viewing angles from the sides as you would if you were sitting right in front of it—looking straight at the center
Hey there, stalker 👍
Look, man, I’m honestly not sure what you’re getting at here—are you actually trying to start something? All this feels a bit unnecessary. To be honest, it just seems like you’ve got nothing better to do than try to lecture me, which is kind of a sad look, don't you think? I'll just admit it—I'm clearly not the most educated guy around, so I guess I'll take that 🤣

Ah, my bad guys—I was totally out of it today and completely missed that he mentioned wanting a new case too...

AMD A10-6700
2x4GB RAM 2133
Samsung evo Basic 120
Some mATX ASUS motherboard
mATX case with a 200W power supply
-I don't have a dedicated graphics card

The PC is incredibly quiet—and I really want to keep it that way.
The integrated AMD graphics on the processor actually do a decent job
and they don't pull much power.

I only play World of Tanks, and even then, just on minimum
settings at 1400x900, where it stays above 40 FPS.

Now, I'm looking to play World of Tanks on max settings—everything cranked up—while keeping my FPS
from dropping below 40.

I'm planning to grab a new case with a
solid power supply, and I'm looking to pick up a new graphics card too.

The big question is: which route should I take? AMD or GeForce?
I'd like to spend no more than $500 on the card.
What would you guys recommend?

It's mostly a home PC used for browsing,
so I was also wondering—if I'm not gaming, will the power consumption
be lower?

Right now, the system pulls less than 100W per hour.

What exactly do you mean by an mATX case? Is it a vertical tower or a horizontal one? If it's the latter, you might need to look for a slim power supply rather than a standard ATX size.
I might just have to try reinstalling the graphics drivers if this doesn't work—honestly, at this point, I’m half expecting the screen to just go black anyway...
Anyone still running Windows 7? in Software ·
Maybe give your Windows a quick repair attempt—but if that doesn't do the trick, you might be looking at an issue with one of those programs you installed recently...

Check out this video—maybe it’ll clear things up for you.

To be honest, there isn't really such a thing as a "pirated" version of Windows itself. What actually happens is that some people—especially on those torrent sites—strip out certain programs or bundle extra stuff into the installer. They create these modified versions of Windows with all sorts of custom themes or pre-installed updates up to a certain date, which, if you ask me, is just a headache waiting to happen. It's much better to find a clean, original setup rather than dealing with the nonsense I mentioned above. At the end of the day, what really matters is having a valid product key; you can usually pick one up at a local retailer for about $100.😁

Here’s a site where you can grab an original Windows 7 setup. It has all the different versions available, and it's completely legitimate and free to download.

Well, you haven't really given us much to go on here... What does your current setup actually look like? Give me the full rundown from top to bottom—especially your CPU and the specific make and model of your power supply... Oh, and most importantly, what kind of budget are we working with for this card?
How should I partition a 1TB hard drive? in IT Support ·
I’ve got a 1TB hard drive myself, so I just split it into two partitions of about 465GB each. Honestly, it really just comes down to how much space you want each partition to take up... But yeah, if you go into Disk Management, you can just carve out 426GB—or whatever size you need—to create that new partition.

Try right-clicking that item and ending the process—then see how the computer reacts.
I'm going in circles here...
I’ve been using microfiber for years to clean my TV and computer monitor... Just like my friend mentioned earlier... Personally, I like to soak the cloth well, give it a good squeeze so it’s just damp, and then wipe everything down. After that, I just let the water evaporate for a few seconds on the screen—it doesn't leave a single speck of dust behind, and the screens end up looking brand new, straight out of the box. Microfiber 👍
When you boot up your laptop, you should see a prompt on the screen—something like "press F10 to start recovery"
Can this be saved? in IT Support ·
If it really means that much to you, then just go for it—you don't exactly have anything to lose, do you?
Can this be saved? in IT Support ·
There’s probably a chance to save something here—but you won't find help at your local neighborhood repair shop. You’d need to go through specialized data recovery firms. Just keep one thing in mind: even if they actually manage to pull your files back from the dead, they are going to charge you an absolute fortune for it. It’s going to be pricey, like, seriously expensive.

If you’re asking me, I’d probably just grab one from Target
My PC storage is disappearing for no reason in IT Support ·
Go ahead and disable System Restore.
Sorry, but I’m honestly a little lost on what you're actually trying to achieve here? Usually, Windows is installed right on the C: drive... If your plan is to format something like the D: drive, you can totally do that without "deleting" Windows from the C: partition at all.
PC troubleshooting help needed in Desktops ·
Grab the WhoChrased utility—once you've got it installed, just hit the analysis button. It’ll generate a log detailing exactly why your PC decided to restart. If you don't mind, go ahead and paste that log here on the forum so we can take a look and figure out what's actually going on...
