Well, you could say that... but sometimes things work differently. Take Watch Dogs, for example—if you actually wanted to run it on MAX settings back in the day, you were looking at needing at least 3GB of VRAM. That was right when the game first launched; I'm not entirely sure if they've pushed out an update since then to smooth out the optimization... but regardless, these days, 2GB feels like that sweet spot for most people.
Well, if that link from Craigslist is actually the real deal, then it’s definitely 👍 though I have my doubts—I mean, 900 views and nobody has snatched it up yet? Either that, or someone already bought it and just forgot to take the listing down...
rapidpuma59 Having that much GB of memory means you can handle higher resolutions... Or maybe even run a triple-monitor setup if you want to go all out 🙂
I mean, honestly—what kind of mechanic is that, leaving half the job unfinished? 🤷 If they were actually on the clock, shouldn't they have been able to pinpoint the actual issue in the first place?
The 265 is actually the strongest one you mentioned, and honestly, it’s trailing the AMD Radeon R9 270 by just a hair... so if you ask me, that's definitely the "sweet spot." 👍
Look, the AMD Radeon R9 270/x is basically your standard mainstream card—you can definitely run newer titles at Full HD with decent settings. Since there are rumors that Grand Theft Auto V isn't dropping until next year, the developers haven't released official recommended specs yet, so we're all still kind of guessing, right? If you're aiming for those ultra settings, you might want to shell out more than a couple hundred bucks for a GPU. I was just browsing Craigslist and saw some R9 270x cards going for about $367... Whereabouts are you located?
I’d personally suggest going with the AMD Radeon R9 270, but the price tag at $440 Best Buy is a bit steep...
As for your power supply, it should handle the card just fine—after all, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 pulls way more juice anyway. Also, wouldn't it be a smart move to bump that up to 4GB of RAM while you're at it?
I wouldn't recommend anything too crazy to the guy... He can't just slap any random graphics card in there—his processor isn't quite powerful enough, so he'll run into a bottleneck where the CPU just won't let the GPU hit its full potential.

So, what kind of budget are we working with here? And what's the deal with the power supply—do you know the specific brand and model?
Prices tend to fluctuate a bit everywhere—you might find a processor a few bucks cheaper over at Centro.hr, while a motherboard might end up costing more there... Honestly, you’re probably better off just grabbing everything from a single shop to keep it simple. Personally, I've always found ADM to be one of the better options; I've never run into any issues with them, and the guys there are genuinely fair and straight shooters..
Do you happen to have a screwdriver handy to unscrew that cage, or is it actually built into the Case? If it's integrated, you might just have to wing it—personally, I’d probably grab a hacksaw or a decent utility knife... Since you mentioned it's just some random case, it likely isn't high-end anyway, so cutting it out shouldn't be much of a hassle.
Honestly... it isn't its own thing—it's just integrated right into the motherboard. It might be fine if you're just surfing the web or playing some light indie games, but for anything else? Yeah, you can pretty much forget about it. 😁
My old CPU 😍 It’s still a perfectly solid chip for gaming. Honestly, once you finally have the budget for a massive upgrade—like something way more powerful than a GTX 1060—you won't be dealing with any major bottlenecks...
