Kenneth Edwards3 said:Punk messages? Just "screw the system, screw everyone else, punk rocks"... I could write that myself. If I did, it’d look just like every other cliché out there. But I'm not going to argue about it because, honestly, that kind of stuff is exhausting...

Oh, wait, just remembered. NOFX - War on Errorism. Now *that* is a punk message.

What kind of metal nation is this supposed to be?! Are there even any non-metalheads left in here?

Punk messages are always just "screw the system" and "fuck everyone else," and punk lives on... I could write those lyrics myself. If I wrote like that, it would sound exactly like everything else out there. But I'm NOT going to argue because, honestly, punk is just a nightmare to me. [/B]

whatever...

Whatever... I'm just not into metal. I have this weird, inexplicable aversion to the whole genre. Plus, those solos drive me crazy because you can't actually sing along to them.

Look... with punk songs, you get the whole message in three minutes. They don't waste words. Or time. Because "time is money."

Of course it does. But if a track runs longer than five minutes, it feels like it needs some kind of loop just to stay interesting, which gets boring fast. Anyway, most albums I listen to aren't even 45 minutes long. Usually closer to 30.

...honestly, does anyone actually find value in listening to ten-minute tracks? It feels unnecessary when you can fit everything perfectly into just 3 minutes. Take the Ramones, for example—none of their songs ever went past the 3 or 4-minute mark (unless I'm misremembering). And they were legends. So, what's the point?
