Either Brawn decided to start testing and developing the car for next season before this race even happened.

Or Brawn and Grandpa just choked.🤣 Seriously, they had a killer position, stayed inside, and were right up there. They could have cruised to points just like Kobayashi did without any stress. Plus, watch this: Grandpa was on Hard tires😉 meaning he could have easily gone to the end or at least the last 7-8 laps, which is exactly what I expected from him and Kobayashi. On softs, they would've cruised past that whole circus in those final 7-8 laps and finished high up in the points.😉

Their tactics were just plain stupid, though I guess that first explanation might actually make sense.🤔

Grandpa burned through his brakes in those first 20 laps—once that happened, it was game over for him. 🤷

Let’s set aside the whole Hamilton and SC situation for a moment.

Nobody seems to be talking about everything else happening on the track—though I think that's exactly where we find the real reasons behind Lewis's frustration. It was honestly tragic to watch Alonso spend more than half the race stuck behind Buemi in 9th place without even attempting a move. Sure, they had decent pace to catch the leaders before the SC, but once you look at the big picture, their actual race pace was just dismal. And that's after showing up with a new spec and such high expectations.

It turns out they didn't just fail to catch McLaren and Red Bull; they actually lost their edge over the midfield teams like Renault and Williams too.

The gap Alonso is facing is worrying—especially in a field this tight, where four or five drivers are fighting tooth and nail for every single point.

Ferrari can still try to delude themselves by blaming a string of bad luck, but unless something radical changes, it feels like Ferrari has essentially given up on the title fight today.

In my opinion, that’s the core issue—and likely why we're seeing all of Lewis's venting. 🤷

Honestly, what an absolute embarrassment—it’s genuinely unbelievable that someone could sink that low, actually checking to see if they slept around or not. They’re going to absolutely lose it from pure rage. Unbelievable.

Nobody is actually criticizing Ferrari—it’s all aimed at Alonso.

It’s easy to talk trash from the sidelines—just try stepping into the arena yourself and see if it feels quite as fun then. 😁

A guy who consistently puts in a 0.6-second advantage per lap—and a massive two-time world champion at that—doesn't whine, doesn't complain about everything, and isn't an egoist. Which is exactly what Alonso is.

Comparing him or Lewis Hamilton to Kimi Räikkönen is just pointless. There’s really no debate there. Even if Alonso had six titles, he'd still claim he couldn't win a new championship unless he was handed the fastest car on the grid. I remember after his first win in Australia, he actually claimed he'd surpass Michael Schumacher. What a jerk.

Hamilton is cut from the same cloth, honestly. The kid is used to having the best machinery and expects everyone to bend to his will—which, let's be real, usually includes having the FIA in his corner.
I often wonder what would happen if every driver had to tackle a full season in identical cars. Where would Alonso end up? And where would Hamilton? They'd both be falling apart—complaining to anyone who would listen.

It’s interesting how McLaren offered Jenson Button money in his contract, yet they didn't do the same for Kimi Räikkönen. It was as if they already knew Ferrari would have to settle up with him, and that he wasn't exactly chasing the paycheck in his next deal. I'd bet my life there was some complaining involved from Hamilton, his dad, Nicole, and the whole crew... I mean, how would they handle it if the "Iceman" outpaced them?

🤦

stormybadger8 said:The way the FIA handles things is just a complete joke—honestly, it’s getting to the point where it feels totally surreal. 🤣😂😂

Michael Schumacher wasn't penalized—honestly, I think the call was fair. And that’s all following a discussion with the drivers—it was quite an insightful conversation, actually.🤣 Felipe Massa seems to be forgetting that his grandfather isn't the one calling the shots at Ferrari anymore—it’s a tough lesson to learn. 😬

Felipe Massa has been penalized—quite a tough break for him.

I wonder if that's why Alguersar Kubica was called out—it’s a bit of an odd move, really—but I suppose there's some logic to it.

Robert Kubica has been issued a warning—it’s a tough situation, all things considered. 🙄

I really do hold Robert Kubica in high regard—truly—but that was just a reckless move on his part, and he honestly deserved the penalty.

It feels like the FIA is increasingly tripping over its own feet—now they’re seemingly trying to play nice to avoid making a mess, but honestly, it feels like things are spinning out of control. I can see it coming; more nonsense is inevitable. Personally, I find it entertaining to watch the overtakes, those wild moves, and the desperate defensive driving, but if this continues, it could lead to some serious disasters on track.😢

Thank God we finally have a driver in the officiating—it’s about time someone who actually knows what it feels like behind the wheel helps call the shots, rather than leaving everything to a bunch of bureaucrats...🙏🙏🙏

It feels like you’ve been watching Formula 1 for the last few years—you've probably gotten used to seeing nothing but chamomile tea on the track.

To be honest—I mentioned just yesterday that McLaren is going to absolutely tear through Red Bull like they're nothing—and that's without any help from the rain or an SC. 😍

stormybadger8 said:I am in complete agreement—Rubens really should have received a severe penalty for that.

On the flip side, you have Michael Schumacher being penalized—bless his heart, I’ll always defend Grandpa😵—just for interpreting the rules and finding a loophole.

It is maddening to see that they aren't being penalized for the exact same thing now.

Personally, I don't see why Lewis Hamilton should be punished for removing the steering wheel; instead, the team should be held accountable for intentionally sending their driver out when they knew they didn't have enough fuel to finish Qualifying properly.

I've mentioned this before—there isn't actually a rule regarding fuel quantities and returning to the pits; there is only an internal FIA directive, which carries no real binding weight. And honestly, this $10k fine is a joke, let alone if they were to hand down something more substantial.

Besides, wasn't McLaren previously given a conditional penalty from the FIA? If they pull another stunt like this, shouldn't the team be banned for several years? They ought to enforce the penalties properly.😍

stormybadger8 said:That feels a bit extreme—don't overdo it 🙄

The rule states they have to make it back to the pits within a specific timeframe, and there needs to be at least one liter of fuel left in the car.☕

Come on, stop nitpicking. There isn't actually a strict rule about how quickly a driver has to return to the pits; there’s just a guideline that isn't mandatory.

Honestly, Sep is always complaining about everything—not that long ago, some drivers were tossing steering wheels onto the track and hitting other cars, and by those standards, you'd have to disqualify an entire team for ten years.

mistybear87 said:In my honest opinion—and I say this with all due respect to the drivers—taking the steering wheel off while the car is still moving should carry a massive penalty. It’s nothing less than a blatant disregard for safety. ☕

It’s a bit of a mess—really quite a mess—when you see how much trouble a single mistake can cause during a race weekend. Looking at what happened at the US Grand Prix 2010, that $10,000 fine feels like a massive hammer blow over something that seemed almost trivial at first glance. It reminds me of a time I was working on a project back in Chicago where a tiny clerical error ended up costing us a whole week of progress—it's always the small things that catch you off guard. Regardless, the stewards aren't playing around this season.

10 000 $ 🤣

stormybadger8 said:If the rain keeps coming down—regardless of any SC—and Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button struggle, the RB cars and Robert Kubica are going to absolutely tear them apart. 😉

By the end of the race, once we have those piles of discarded tires on the track and everyone is running on softs for the final 5-10 laps, they'll practically be flying. 😁

All in all, I think we're looking at the race of the season—incredibly gripping and tense. 🙏

Look, man,

Hamilton is incredibly fast—he was 0.25 seconds ahead of Red Bull in qualifying, which translates to about half a second in the race. He’s going to run circles around them out there, whether it rains or an SC happens or not.

I can't quite decide which is the greater tragedy—John Doe losing his footing to Novak, or Novak losing his to John Doe.

It would probably be best if they both just took the shot—honestly, I think that’s the move here.

Good grief...

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they penalize Lewis Hamilton for this—it's getting to the point where he's genuinely putting other drivers at risk.

At the end of the day—given how things played out—he’ll be starting from the back tomorrow. 🤷

Watching him push that car through qualifying really made my day—and honestly, seeing him perched on the airbox earlier... it just brought back such wonderful memories from the good old days.
