Look, nobody is actually stopping you from starting a thread about any album you want. The only difference is it won't be under the official Album of the Week banner... 🤷
Pandora just charges my card once a month. It’s got its quirks and some albums are missing, but it's a solid way to build a reliable library with great sound quality and zero ads.
I've already spun most of this. That guy Cymande... man, he's an old soul. Total one-hit wonder, but damn, what a hit! If I were putting together a top 20, "Dove" would definitely make the cut. Not really worth my time on Blu-ray, though. He’s an old favorite of mine, so I'll probably always be a fan...
As for the second half, Autechre is somewhat interesting so far. Dudley and Coleman hold their own until things get repetitive and that Art of Noise sound starts pushing you right to the edge of boredom.
All in all, nothing groundbreaking here. I'm starting to fear these kinds of discoveries are becoming a rare breed. 😢
Look, you can start a thread for any album whenever you feel like it. It’s just that there wouldn't be an "Album of the Week" distinction anymore... which honestly becomes pretty pointless if you end up having ten of them at once anyway. 🙂
I think some people here are just being contrarians for the sake of it. For me, whether something qualifies as art matters way more than whether it's "music." Take Madonna, for example—that’s a textbook case. What she does is definitely music; all the classic elements are there, she’s got top-tier session musicians, and the production is polished... but it’s certainly not art. The definition of art is a lot messier than music, and honestly, it’s never been set in stone because true art always manages to slip through any attempt at categorization. So, it doesn't really matter if our Bernhard fits into some narrow, old-school musical box. What we're hearing here transcends those rigid musical rules, which, as someone who isn't a musician, seem pretty trivial to me. Attacking this is no different than bashing abstract painting. I remember once I was looking at some abstract pieces during a break at work and heard a coworker mutter, "That's not art to me." Well, yeah—of course it's not, when you don't know the first thing about art.
I love him. Vampire's Kiss is a perfect example of his genius. And in those thrillers, like Con Air, he gives so much that the movies become total cult classics. Oh, and then there's Malkovich.
I just got word that some underground splinter group is forming— SPERMA, an alliance of the permabanned. I don't know anything about them, other than they're scouting Loom for a spokesperson and drafting a platform titled "Adult content in America"... we'll find out more once they wrap things up.
Either way, just double-check And if you already did, check again... A contact of mine at JP Morgan told me the same thing earlier today—someone high up who definitely has no reason to lie to me.
Maybe there are slight variations depending on which bank you're using, but I doubt it's that massive a gap.
Check it out and let me know.
It's not like I'm sitting on a fortune, but I'm pretty sure I read that the FDIC covers up to $250,000 if a bank goes under.
Jamie Davis9 said:So, I did a little digging with some buddies over at Chase, and they're saying it’s actually a smart move to swap those savings from dollars into euros. They also mentioned that up to $110,000 is FDIC insured... anything beyond that, you're on your own. There you go. Anyway, never hurts to ask...
