I moved part of the America spike over to the America topic—I figured what’s left here is probably fine to just stay put.

TAKING 👍

Predictably enough, Idioteque was the one that really got to me. Miss—the start of the album is honestly some of the best stuff ever—but it kind of just drifted in the background while I was busy with things. And then who's in a bunker who's in a bunker started... LOGGING OUT

For me, the US music scene is pretty essential too. I was listening to OK Computer back in middle school and thought it was great, though it didn't exactly shatter my worldview—if you know what I mean. But when I first heard Kid A, it felt like my brain actually did a complete reset.

And I'd say Transformers is definitely one of those key albums for my own personal growth. Man, what an absolute masterpiece.

Tool isn't nu metal. I know that, being a huge fan of Slipknot's first album. image

I think there’s already a thread for this, but I can’t seem to find it. FAIL. So, let’s just leave it be.

I spent a good chunk of my childhood listening to total garbage meant for kids. The Beatles, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys—all that stuff. Somewhere around 6th or 7th grade, my dad bought me the BBC Sessions Led Zeppelin, and then toward the end of elementary school, I started getting into Metallica. After that, I heard Slayer and stuck with metal (always with two L's!) pretty much through high school. I have to admit, though—kind of embarrassingly—the band that actually pulled me out of that narrow black and death metal mindset was Tool. image
Then I discovered The Big Org and How It Feels. Jeremy and Cedric were basically my gateway into indie. And early Sonic Youth? That was some real foreign territory for me.

We'll see what happens next!

thanks

I didn't just hand you a pass because I'm feeling generous. You might want to pull yourself together a bit.

Anyone else looking for some actual insight into Judaism lately—where'd everyone go?
Hey there. 👍

I'll follow up with Anita right away. 😍
But they don't actually exist, right? I guess. 😢
Betty Myers7 said:If a few rock bands are popping up lately—well, why not? I guess it just shows there's still an appetite out there for that old-school, classic sound.👍

I guess it feels like those bands aren't really looking to revisit any of their old glory days—not that they seem particularly interested in riding past waves, anyway.

Marshmallow works for me too, so I guess those are just facts at this point. 🙂
