Finally, someone who isn't just posting off-topic nonsense 😬

Finally, someone actually understood my point when I compared those two. 😁

And for Nicole Baker: look, it’s perfectly normal for there to be truly great bands—what I called the "top tier." Anyone who genuinely loves music isn't just going to stick to whatever is being served up on a silver platter to the masses. I respect that. I really do. And honestly, hats off to you all for being such die-hard fans that you follow everything across every single genre and subgenre imaginable. My issue was simply with the attitude: the "I know better than you because I take trivia quizzes" or "I'll drop my last dime on any concert" vibe.
It's obvious that what you guys are looking for in music is quality, artistry, and so on. That's true. That's exactly what I look for and value in the music I listen to, too. But kopito has nothing to do with that. That's why I think everyone overreacted. You have to judge kopito within the context of its own genre—just like someone else mentioned here. There. Simple. I'm not going to argue about this anymore. Peace out. 😉

Honestly... I don't even care anymore. Let them talk if they want to.

A band that everyone loves to hate—but they keep touring anyway.🙂

Spot on, Jerry Patel6, haha.

I just wanted to point out that I find it honestly pathetic when people insist everything they listen to has to be "intellectual," filled with perfectly curated lyrics and complex melodies. If we judged kopito by having ultra-deep, philosophical lyrics, all the charm 😬 of their music would vanish, since it was clearly designed to be one big, fun joke.
As for this whole indie vs. mainstream nonsense—I’m just observing that a lot of people on this forum seem to live by the rule of "the less famous the band, the better." They act like they're superior just because they can spend their time trashing anyone who hasn't heard of some obscure underground act. It makes it seem like kopito is already too commercialized and therefore "bad" or shallow... but hey, to each their own.
I still don't get why you have to hunt for deep meaning in absolutely everything.

I’d much rather be wrong about something than spend my entire life obsessing over whether a band is "mainstream" or some niche "indie" act. It just isn't worth the energy.😬
Cheers! 🙂

The level of bitterness on this forum is honestly exhausting 😛
Look, those are just two different directions, but both paths lead to the same party... and if someone doesn't like the way the Hoof plays, they don't have to listen to it. That's the end of it.

Well, I’d say the ideal tools would be a rasp and a comb 😂
paired with the subtle jingling of Miracle Blade knives

Honestly, Hoof is 🙂

Even the Ramones were minimalists with just those three chords, yet we still love them 😍

I know some of them don't have any coverage at all.

😁
Well, fair enough. They probably spend most of the year back in a big city like Chicago or New York anyway... dealing with college stuff, I guess. Maybe they just don't have the time to manage a little website. Or maybe it's just that classic coastal laziness, haha.😬
Plus, I can barely understand half the slang they use. Yesterday, I could actually tell who was from the city and who wasn't. hehe

😲 Oh, come on... honestly, that Radio Bemba Soundsystem album is hands down the best party starter you could ask for. I've tested it myself. 😉 Especially tracks like "Machine Gun," "Welcome to Tijuana," and "Peligro"... just some top-tier ska. 🙂

The concert at the NYSE last night was absolutely wonderful 😍
So, I wanted to ask—has anyone here actually heard them before, or does anyone know their story?
Also, does anyone know why they don't have a website or any kind of online presence? 😬

Here is the schedule for the bands playing at Burning Man:
The Pixies
The Pixies
Sublime
The Velvet Underground
Green Day
Foo Fighters
The Killers

Doors open at 8 PM, and the first band hits the stage right at 9 PM.
(Let's just hope they actually stick to that "right at 9 PM" part
as if anyone actually believes them🙄)

Just one pure evil thing. 🙂
Look, I’ve listened to The Pixies plenty of times. Don't get me wrong—they're talented and their production is solid—but that isn't exactly the kind of music you want to dance to. In my opinion, it would be much more appropriate to save sets like that for the end of the night. 😉

Man, it never actually goes down like that...
I’m just praying I don’t pass out waiting for The Velvet Underground while listening to the incredibly dull sounds of The Pixies 🙂

Man, 😢
this is going to be absolutely terrible if it’s actually true... the last band always just plays a couple of songs before they kick them off stage and turn all the lights up... that's exactly how it went down last year.👎

Joshua Carter20 said:It’s the usual pattern... they'll probably start with some lesser-known bands, move up to the headliners, and then circle back to some mid-tier acts later on.😲

Hmm... I have to say, that isn't exactly the answer I was hoping for.😬
I'm just worried about missing Antenat.😍 Surely they won't be playing in one of those early slots, right??

Does anyone happen to have the setlist order for the bands playing at the fair?

🤣 Ah, Don Juan...
I actually have that record at my place. There was a time when a friend and I were absolutely obsessed with them. We’d spend all day singing their songs—much to the annoyance of everyone else around us. I’d belt out stuff like: "I am a true Don, Don Juan" 😬 then "up the ladder, up the ladder, up and down..." and "Extinguish the Light"... and so on.

But my favorite lyric has to be: "You'll walk down my street, and toss a bitten apple into my trash can... but you won't even realize what you've done to me... Barbara, Barbara." 🙏 😬
