Lump under the skin on the vulva in Health ·
Lisa Chase90 said:But how on earth can we possibly know—honestly, even a gynecologist wouldn't attempt a diagnosis for someone they haven't even seen face-to-face, let alone 🙂

GO-SEE-A-DOCTOR 🙂

I don't think you quite caught my drift in my previous post... most people here tend to share their experiences without running to a doctor first, mostly because so many of these things are just fleeting issues that don't actually require medical intervention! That’s exactly why I was asking if anyone else had dealt with something similar... in a similar area 😬 You can see that not everyone responded the way you did—some people actually offered some common sense... regardless, thanks anyway

I suppose I should begin by addressing the matter at hand—though where one even begins with these shifting paradigms is often quite a mystery... It seems we are all circling the same questions, aren't we? One finds oneself lost in the nuances of the current discourse—much like being caught in a slow drizzle in Seattle—and yet, there is a certain necessity to the investigation... If we are to move forward, we must first understand the foundations upon which we stand... Or perhaps, more accurately, the ground that is currently shifting beneath us... kaže:
If the swelling is truly significant—and I mean really noticeable—it’s probably best to just head in and see a doctor... though honestly, you might be better off starting with your primary care physician. They can take a quick look to see what we're dealing with. Usually, they’ll just prescribe some antibiotics or maybe a topical ointment to clear things up... and then it just passes... eventually.🙂

I honestly don't think applying any kind of ointment is doing much of anything—since there isn't even a visible trace left on the skin... though, actually, wait... I'm certainly not taking my little one to see some random general practitioner for this... 🤣

Angela Wright said:It’s possible you’re looking at an inflamed Bartholin's gland. There was actually a thread discussing that quite recently over here.

You should probably head to the doctor if it starts swelling up—or if it begins to hurt and doesn't just clear up on its own after a few days...

I don't think it's that specific gland because... well, I was looking at some anatomical diagrams online and the gland is located right by the opening of the labia... but this little thing of mine is further away from the vaginal opening—closer to the thigh area, though still technically on the vulva...🙄

Hello there. I have run into a small little issue—something I actually stumbled upon about ten days ago while I was showering. I felt this slightly firm, pea-sized lump under the skin, just to the left of my labia where there are quite a few sebaceous glands. There is absolutely nothing visible on the surface, and it’s mobile to the touch—it doesn't hurt per se—but if I apply any pressure, it causes a bit of discomfort. I can even feel the edges of it between my fingers... I did go in for my annual checkup with my gynecologist recently; she performed a Pap smear and told me everything looked fine, no signs of inflammation, and said the results would be good too. However, that was a month ago, and I really don't feel like making another trip to the clinic right now... if this is something normal that might just pass. I am one hundred percent certain this isn't related to an STI, so please disregard that possibility entirely. At first, I thought maybe it was just a pimple that would eventually come to the surface, but it hasn't... I'm feeling a little concerned—not overly so, mind you—but I'm just waiting for someone to reassure me, perhaps someone who has dealt with something similar that eventually cleared up on its own... 😬 Thanks.

I feel like it should be obvious just by looking at it...
maybe I'm wrong, but I've dealt with yeast infections enough times to know...

She likely knew because the discharge from a yeast infection is so distinct—that thick, white, cottage cheese texture—and it has a very specific scent. This woman isn't an OB/GYN, she specializes more in general infections, so she knows exactly what she's seeing—though honestly, any gynecologist really ought to recognize it too. As for it being an STI? There is absolutely no way.

I always experience a bit of spotting after my Pap smear...

Honestly, there’s really no need for more testing right now... years ago, everything came back negative except for one single bacterium—which I eventually cleared up, and after two follow-up tests, it was gone for good... since then, nothing else has surfaced, so I feel like rushing into more swabs out of sheer panic would be pointless. Unless, of course, some new bacteria decided to show up by some divine intervention...
thanks to everyone for the advice and all the support....

I suppose I should begin by saying that... well, there isn't much more to add to the previous discussion—though one might argue that there always is, if one looks closely enough at the nuances of the matter... anyway. It seems my earlier observations were perhaps a bit too focused on the immediate implications, rather than the broader, more systemic shifts occurring within our society here in America. One tends to get lost in the weeds, doesn't one? Much like how I once spent an entire afternoon researching the history of municipal zoning laws in Chicago—just a complete detour, really—but it serves to illustrate how easily we lose sight of the forest for the trees. Regardless, I remain steadfast in my belief that the current trajectory is, shall we say, somewhat unpredictable... even if it feels inevitable in hindsight. kaže:
After being on those low-dose hormone pills for several years—you know, brands like Yaz or Loestrin—it can actually lead to breakthrough bleeding. It’s because the uterine lining starts getting thinner and just becomes more prone to spotting... I'm not entirely sure if I explained that part quite clearly enough, but that's the gist of it. You should definitely check in with your doctor about it, though. Usually, they suggest taking a break for maybe two or three months... I’m actually in the middle of one of those breaks myself right now, since it happened to me a few times...
If you aren't currently taking any birth control... that kind of bleeding can actually happen during ovulation—it’s just one of those things... quite common, really.
Everything is going to be just fine... truly... 😘

So... I finally figured out why I’ve been bleeding... turns out—and this is just devastating to process—it was all because of some botched treatment and poor gynecological care that led to chronic fungal inflammation... which has actually spread to my cervix. That explains the bleeding... finally. My first round of medication managed to stop the bleeding itself... but I still have more to go through since you can't exactly wipe out a chronic Candida infection overnight... though my doctor did tell me I’m finally on the right track. At last...

Angela Wright said:Even during ovulation, you might see a little spotting. Check if you're halfway through your cycle—if you are, that’s likely the culprit.

But I've been on birth control for two years now, so there isn't any ovulation happening... which is why I'm so worried. There was blood on the swab, and then more ten days later... something that has just never happened before. My doctor will probably insist on more cervical swabs because of this bleeding—she maintains that random spotting from the cervix isn't "normal"—but honestly, I can't justify paying for those tests all over again. Everything came back negative, except for Chlamydia, which I mentioned... though after being treated twice, it has tested negative for an entire year now. 🙄 It seems highly improbable that I would get a false positive at two different clinics within such a short timeframe... 😕 I wonder if the Clindamycin cream could be causing the bleeding? Who knows...

So, I was at the clinic getting my HPV swab done, and when the doctor went in, she noticed some blood on the swab from my cervix... she mentioned it wasn't exactly ideal. My HPV results actually came back negative just seven days ago, which was a relief, but then this happened. I was a bit spooked because I noticed a few drops of blood on my underwear today—something that has never happened to me outside of my period. And I still have about ten days left until my cycle starts. My Pap smear from six months ago was perfectly fine... and my Chlamydia tests were negative after treatment—I even went back and double-checked twice, since I’d heard it can sometimes lay dormant. I honestly don't know where I could have caught it again, considering my boyfriend and I have been using condoms consistently for two years now. I haven't had any other bacterial issues either—no mycoplasma or ureaplasma... Recently, though, my doctor was treating me for vaginitis caused by Gardner, and it absolutely wrecked my immune system... the inflammation was so intense that my thighs were actually aching. Is it possible for bleeding to occur because of bacterial vaginitis? I should mention that I finished my treatment just a couple of days ago, but this little incident today really threw me off balance... so I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else has dealt with breakthrough bleeding? I'd love some advice from the more experienced women here on what my next steps should be. Thank you...

Can anyone recommend a reliable private dentist in Chicago—ideally somewhere downtown, near Lincoln Park, or the surrounding areas...

Also, does anyone have a rough idea of what private practice rates look like these days? if you happen to know...

I really have to single one doctor out here... it would be Dr. Dean Cekić, his website is: www.ordinacijacekic.hr . He managed to resolve a massive issue for me that three different dentists couldn't quite crack—so I am beyond satisfied with the care... he is incredibly thorough and kind, as is his entire staff, and the pricing isn't outrageous—you can find a full price list right on his site.

Best of luck!

I would highly recommend Dr. Mladen Karakaš, over in Brooklyn... he's in private practice, truly excellent... I actually ended up seeing him based on a recommendation from others... and I just stayed with him. He is polite, very professional... and his rates aren't even overly expensive.

Just bring that sweet little baby into this world and you'll find that all those overwhelming problems just sort themselves out along the way... honestly—I know quite a few couples who became parents during their senior year of college... they finished up their degrees, and their parents were there to help them get through those early months... down the road, you'll look back and be so incredibly happy that you had that child!

sretno and just listen to your heart—because from everything I can see here, it seems like you truly want this baby...👍

I mean, I’ll be honest—I just can't deal with those certain types of Catholics who preach this whole "wait until marriage" thing... yet they're out there using birth control and condoms, and if a pregnancy actually happens, they just figure they'll head to the chapel and get married with a full baby bump. 🙄 😬

It’s especially grating when those very same people feel entitled to lecture everyone else on how to live their lives... 👎

Go ahead... try to find me ten Catholics in your neck of the woods who actually stay pure before marriage... I'll wait...🙄

Betty Barnes43 said:Please correct me if I’m wrong—I’ve actually started feeling a bit agitated by the sheer amount of stubbornness being displayed here—so I just couldn't bring myself to read through this entire thread anymore.
So, is it just my imagination, or has none of the self-righteous Catholics present here (and please, don't jump down my throat about how I know that—we all know it 😉 ) actually stated how many children they have?

The question was asked quite explicitly at one point, yet nobody seems particularly eager to boast about their "blessings" 😁... in fact, they all seemed to elegantly sidestep the whole thing... perhaps I simply can't list them all? 🙄 😁

Come on now, you champions of the right to life, the pure consciences, the morality, and all that other shallow rhetoric: HOW MANY CHILDREN DO YOU HAVE?

I am not some narrow-minded Catholic, nor do I have children... and I am still quite young... in my early 20s. I don't believe children should be produced like items on an assembly line... rather, I think if you don't want kids... you shouldn't have them, and you should make sure it stays that way (meaning, prevent pregnancy instead of aborting!)... if I were a closed-minded Catholic, I would be protesting against condoms and birth control pills....
go to a church... you'll find more of them there

well, it just occurred to me—I had an ovulation window a few days back.
honestly, if I’d actually taken advantage of that to have a seventh child, they’d be heading off to elementary school right about now.
I suppose I should spend the next three days mourning that unfortunate missed opportunity...

There is a profound difference between simply being fertile and actually bringing a life into this world... when you combine male and female cells and then opt for an abortion... it's as if "nothing happened"... which leads me to think—perhaps animals are somehow more enlightened beings than we are...

Justin Fox said:The pro-life crowd are total fanatics—people who think they have the right to dictate how everyone else lives their lives. If they want to start having kids at eighteen, fine, good luck to them... biologically speaking, that might be the peak window for a woman, but it’s just far too extreme for most of the population.

This specific breed of people—those arguing today about why someone shouldn't have an abortion—will inevitably move on to demanding censorship of information tomorrow, and eventually, they'll probably be calling for some sort of federal surveillance state to listen in on our private conversations...

In my view, the whole situation is just messy—it's incredibly intrusive to meddle in someone else's personal decisions, especially when a girl is simply asking for information on how and where to proceed... once she's made up her mind, that should be the end of it.

Besides, regardless of how unpleasant an abortion may be, I am certain it is significantly less traumatic than being pregnant—let alone the actual trauma of childbirth, even if everything goes perfectly during the delivery...

There is absolutely nothing more beautiful in this world than pregnancy and bringing a child into it! No matter how desperate things seem at first, I am sure by the time she turns twenty-five, she will feel nothing but regret... thinking to herself, "Well, my child would be seven years old now, starting first grade..." THERE IS NO GREATER SHOCK TO A WOMAN THAN AN ABORTION! You aren't a woman, and you will never truly understand the pains of childbirth, so please, leave that to us women! My own mother forgot all the traumas of labor the moment she laid eyes on us... and frankly, it's revolting to even discuss abortion. Men bear a much larger share of the blame for unintended pregnancies, because despite birth control, they still have the option to finish outside... yet they take the pleasure that created life and turn it into the murder of that very child. It is utterly selfish. 🙂
