I’ve been a regular at sporting events for years now, and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve witnessed referees pulling off blatant robberies.

It’s honestly tough to stay objective when you’re showing up as a fan—it’s easy to get swept up in the moment, which I guess makes it harder to see things clearly.

That’s why I want to hear from you guys. If you’ve ever dealt with a rigged game—whether you were out there on the court, watching from the stands, or catching it on TV—please, vent about it here or describe what happened.

I’ll kick things off with the Giljević-Komazin duo that’s been all over the US news lately. I mean, I’ve personally sat through about a dozen games where this pair basically handed the win to one side through sheer theft. To make matters worse, they seem to be officiating all the major playoffs for the top tier over the last three years—apparently with the full blessing of the NBA, or rather, Kavran and Gobac.

Well, that’s my grievance. Now it’s your turn.

If things are so terrible for you in the USA, then fine. If you come back from the Atlantic Ocean all sunburnt and find yourself sprinting for a bus, just watch out that you don't get shot in the back by your local European thugs. 🙂

Well, those folks end up getting surgery in 2007—if they even live that long—or they just have everything removed that they can so they stop being a nuisance... since there's no profit left in them (read: money).

So, my old man had a couple of surgeries—two, actually—and both times, my mom ended up footing the bill. Both were for tumors, and both times it cost about $250.

Before she handed over any cash, the whole vibe at the clinic was just... I don't know, strictly business? A bit cold, honestly. They’d act all uncertain about when appointments were or if they even existed—not to mention how they seemed determined to just cut everything out and remove it all at once.

But as soon as the money changed hands? Suddenly, they're acting like our best friends whenever my folks show up. And instead of just hacking everything out, they actually put in the effort to just excise the affected area.

I guess my takeaway here is that you basically have to grease their palms with a little something—maybe a small tip or a fraction of the cost. I'm prepping for my own surgery now, and honestly, if I just dropped $500 on them, I bet things would go much smoother.

So, I guess it’s just considered "normal" to slip a little something extra into a doctor's envelope when you're heading in for surgery—or maybe just grab a coffee and a box of chocolates for the nurse during tests so you don't end up waiting in line until 2009—but the second you pay a homeopath for treatment, suddenly everyone acts like it's some huge scandal.

Honestly? I’d much rather pay a homeopath for their services than hand cash over to those corrupt hacks in our local hospitals—I mean, between my own family's medical bills and those kickbacks, I’ve basically spent enough to buy a decent used Ford.
