Emily Fisher26 said:But what’s going on with your sister doesn't necessarily mean it's something serious. For instance, I deal with stomach and digestive issues, and two different doctors told me everything's fine. To be fair, they didn't even send me for any real tests—just basic blood work and a urine sample—they just suggested I tweak my diet. The problem is, the symptoms still pop up sometimes, and it drives me crazy that these doctors act like nothing is wrong. Like, seriously, at least send me for some actual testing.

Yeah, I hear that all the time. When doctors can't pin down exactly what's wrong, they tend to brush it off by saying it's "nothing" or just blaming it on stress, anxiety, or depression...
..hmm, take a guy I work with. He was dealing with constant stomach and gut issues, and after a year of running tests, they told him it was all in his head. The thing is, the pain never actually stopped. Once his health really tanked, he turned to alternative medicine, tried out a VEGA test, and it turns out he actually had celiac disease... once he started watching what he ate, he was totally fine—even put on some weight... no more pain. And he wasn't just making it up...
...Sometimes people are "making it up" so much that they are actually in real pain, even if there aren't any physical indicators yet...but that's a tough one to solve. My colleague above was basically labeled a hypochondriac until they finally found the real cause... food for thought...

Chloe White87 said:I’m dealing with the exact same thing, specifically with my blood pressure.😁
Every single time I’m at the doctor's office, it hits 150/100, but when I check it casually at home, it's totally fine. Then there's the whole "new illness every day" thing—it really depends on what I let get in my head.😁
It's true I take meds for my thyroid, but even for that, my doctor mentioned how negative thoughts can actually make things worse. I think that's exactly what I've been doing by obsessing over everything wrong with me. Yesterday, my doctor told me she believes the pain is real, but physically, everything looks perfect—so it's all happening in my head. I'm trying to stick to that mindset, but I know the urge to go down a rabbit hole researching every possible disease will probably grab me again soon.

Yeah, but this one is seriously exhausting because he's actually healthy. I check his pressure all the time and it's normal... but two weeks before every appointment, he completely loses it. It's ridiculous.
..Honestly, I'd love to just buy him some pills so his blood pressure stays normal during his checkups and he finally stops this nonsense... I just don't know what to get him. Maybe ask the pharmacist? He won't do anything himself because he's too embarrassed... it's pathetic.

What’s your take on this phenomenon... I’ve been thinking about how much more common this is becoming lately...
...for example, I have a buddy who’s been convinced for years that he has high blood pressure. He comes over to get his levels checked, and once I start chatting him up to distract him, his numbers are totally fine... anywhere from 110 to 125 over 80, depending on the day. But then he goes to his doctor, hits 150/80 or even 90, and the doc just sends him off for a mountain of extra tests...
..fast forward a year, he goes back for a follow-up and it’s the exact same loop—more tests, more nothing. They can't find any actual evidence of hypertension. His only indicator is those erratic readings; everything else looks perfect. His eye capillaries, kidney function—everything is textbook healthy...
..basically, he’s just a hypochondriac...
...he probably just gets hit with a massive wave of anxiety every time he walks into a clinic, and that’s what triggers the spike...
..I wouldn't even be bringing this up if my sister hadn't started dealing with something almost identical about six months ago. After a literal endless string of checkups, they still haven't found a single thing wrong. Nobody sees an issue except her...
...I've got more stories, but that's enough for now...
Mirko is the GOAT, but... in Martial Arts & Combat Sports ·
True, but that’s actually part of the appeal. Silva is sitting at 229 lbs and fighting at welterweight, while Mike is at 220 lbs in the heavyweight division... it feels a little off, doesn't it?😲

I’ve got the footage right here. There isn't a single blink or flinch to suggest he took a finger to the eye, and if Barrett claimed he did, then he's full of it—unless I somehow missed it. And look, I'm rooting for Mike, but let's be real about what happened. Barnett didn't stand a chance of winning this one. Silva had the edge, and we all saw how that played out. That's just how it goes.

You guys are talking nonsense... he definitely didn't get poked in the eye. If he had, he would've been done for after four minutes. He broke down his match against Frazier perfectly fine without even a single tear in his eye. You know how it goes when you accidentally "get something" in your eye—like a finger or a pencil—you can't see straight for at least an hour because your eye won't stop watering. But Barnett? Zero symptoms of someone who just took a finger to the eyeball. I'm 100% sure about this.

Norton is hands down the best... at least in my book...👍
Anyone else here an occasional smoker?
If you are, you’re probably wondering how much damage you're actually doing compared to someone who smokes daily or stays completely smoke-free...
I hear conflicting stuff all the time. Some people swear it's worse than being a heavy smoker, while others claim if you just go hard once a week and polish off a pack, it’s basically a wash. Nobody seems to have a straight answer, so if you know anything about the science behind this, drop some knowledge in the thread. I'm genuinely curious...👍

My bad if I came off like some know-it-all expert. If I actually knew what I was talking about, I wouldn't be making this thread in the first place!
I caught a segment about this on the Discovery Channel—can't remember the exact show name—and since English is basically my native tongue, there wasn't any language barrier or misunderstanding on my end. They laid out such a heavy case against daily soap use (any kind, really) that it actually made me pause. When you hear experts arguing a point that hard, you start wondering if they know something the rest of us don't, and you don't want to mess with that. Look, I’m not trying to play philosopher here. It’s not like I was sitting there taking frantic notes on which specific hormone or which exact specialist they mentioned, so don't hit me with "name the doctor" or "tell me the science." Instead, if someone here actually cares enough to dig into it, why not just do a quick Google search and report back what you find? That would be way more helpful. Thanks for understanding.

Look, I get it. Nobody wants to smell like a dumpster, but let’s be real: once you account for your feet, junk, pits, face, and brushing your teeth, there’s about 70% of your body that doesn't need a daily scrub unless you're hitting the gym hard. If you aren't sweating constantly, you aren't going to start smelling bad after four or five days. Just rinsing those areas with water works fine; using soap every single day is overkill. Plus, when you constantly strip away your skin's natural oils and that protective layer, you're messing with your hormones. Those levels fluctuate to compensate, and over time, that can really mess with a guy's cardiovascular health. It won't drop you dead tomorrow, but playing that game for years? Not great. That's just what the experts say. I haven't fully committed to the "water-only" lifestyle yet, but I'm thinking about testing it out. We'll see what my wife says if I suddenly start smelling like a locker room—assuming that even happens. I doubt it, but hey, we'll see. Just some food for thought. Maybe this isn't something to mess around with.👋

So, just like the title says, does anyone actually know how often guys should be showering? I saw some random thread online claiming most dudes only do a full scrub once a week, while supposedly hitting the "critical zones"—armpits, junk, feet, and teeth—every single day. Someone who actually knows what they’re talking about, please weigh in... let's hear it.
