Smoking ban in all public spaces in Health ·
Why on earth is the fact that other harmful things exist being used as an argument against addressing cigarettes? I mean, of course there are other hazards out there, but they aren't what we're discussing right now, and they certainly don't change the reality that smoking is bad for you... if I'm following your logic correctly, are you suggesting it's hypocritical to take action regarding the health risks of smoking for non-smokers just because car exhaust is also toxic? 🤣
Look, sure, vehicle exhaust is harmful, but at the same time, everyone is working toward minimizing that impact (or at least, they really should be!), and we need to approach the conversation about cigarettes in that exact same way! Plus, you seem to be overlooking the simple fact that smoking isn't being outright banned—it's just being restricted in public spaces. At the end of the day, I can look at a single car and see a million different ways it benefits us all, which is a far cry from what a cigarette offers.

I honestly find it absolutely mind-blowing how smokers just can't seem to wrap their heads around the simple fact that their habit actually bothers other people—you know, non-smokers! And then, the second anyone tries to finally address the issue, they immediately start throwing a tantrum, acting like they're being demonized or discriminated against... isn't that just wild?
And what really gets me is that whole "take it or leave it" attitude they push. Does that seriously imply I should just stay home on a Saturday night because I can't stand the smell of Environmental Tobacco Smoke? Are we really talking about "stripping away rights" here?!
Personally, I've always found smoking absolutely revolting. I hate the smoke; I hate when it clings to my skin, my hair, and my clothes, and I hate how it makes me cough, feel suffocated, and makes my eyes water. So, what's the alternative? Am I supposed to just stop going out entirely? I am fully in favor of bans in public spaces, though I do think there should be designated areas specifically for smokers. Honestly, this whole debate about bars going broke because of smoking bans just strikes me as ridiculous—I mean, do you guys actually go to a bar just to light up a cigarette?

If you look at it from that perspective, though, why on earth would it be so important to sit down and watch Brokeback Mountain?

If you think what they went through was bizarre, then you’re the one living in a fantasy world 😉 😬

All I know is that if I were in Joe's shoes, I would have called it quits the very second I tumbled into that crevice...

And honestly, it is easily one of the best movies out right now 👍 damn right!

That's why I can't help but wonder—and honestly, it breaks my heart—why something this incredible might just fly under the radar 😢

I’ve been scouring the forums, but apparently, there isn’t a single thread dedicated to this movie 😕

It's playing at the local AMC right now, and honestly, I stumbled upon it by total accident—I am still absolutely reeling from the experience! It's one of those intense "docudramas" about two climbers who set out back in '85 to conquer a massive Summit in the Andes... can you even imagine? What they went through during that week sounds like something straight out of a fever dream, yet everything about it is completely true 😲

Seriously, why on earth hasn't this film gotten more hype?
Tea, honey, and Brita... in Health ·
So I just skimmed through all the posts... 😳 my bad!

See, since I'm still such a newbie when it comes to the whole tea world, I haven't quite figured out my specific tastes yet, but one thing is for sure: I definitely lean toward the lighter, more delicate flavors... I usually steer clear of black teas right off the bat... though, I have to admit, I might be being a little bit biased there since I haven't actually sat down and really given them a fair shot... It’s just that I tend to pass on them simply because I assume they're going to be way too bitter (and therefore just plain 🙄 😬
), you know?

About a year ago, I came across this absolutely incredible green tea from India—I can't recall the exact brand name right now—and it's still my absolute favorite to this day... but unfortunately, you just can't find it here in the States... what a bummer, right?
🙂Thanks so much, Eric Brown3! There are some seriously great suggestions in this thread, so now I just need to get moving and start tasting everything!

Honestly, I’ve only recently started getting into the whole tea scene myself... I used to have this silly little philosophy where I’d only reach for a cup whenever I was feeling under the weather! 🙄

Right now, I’m sticking strictly to green tea, though I have to admit it tasted pretty bitter to me when I first started. But then I figured out a better way to brew it... though now I’m sitting here wondering, did my palate actually adjust to the bitterness, or am I just getting better at making it?
I read somewhere that you shouldn't just dump green tea leaves into boiling water right away; you really need to let the water cool down just a bit first... so now, once I drop the tea in, I make sure to steep it for a MAXIMUM of two minutes... and that's when it tastes absolutely perfect! It seems to me that the longer it sits in there, the more bitter the green tea becomes.

Does anyone else pick up their tea supplies from the Green Tea Selection? I’ve only ever tried three different kinds, even though they have like... a million options... does anyone have any good recommendations? 🙂
