cosmiccrane14 said:For me, the absolute worst part is just staring down at my plate. Everyone feels entitled to chime in and tell me that what I’m eating isn’t "baby-safe" or is loaded with pesticides, antibiotics, or some other junk. Like—am I eating enough fish? I’m definitely not touching tuna every day. And wait, are you actually going to drink a Coke? That stuff is a silent killer for babies. It’s just endless nonsense.
You won't truly get it until you actually go through it...😁 People seem to think you have to live on nothing but bread and water for three months just to prevent colic. Honestly, I count my ounces of water... and then there's the pressure to constantly sip soup. Apparently, warm soup and tea are supposed to boost milk supply. Oh, and apparently beer works too...☕
Ugh, tell me about it. Every single time someone asks how I’m doing... I just end up sounding like a broken record. It’s honestly easier to just say "everything's fine," because if you dare to mention you're feeling even slightly off, people immediately spiral into total panic mode or start dumping a thousand unsolicited pieces of advice on you.
I’m just sitting here waiting for that final month to hit, so then the floodgates can open with everyone blowing up my phone asking if I've had the baby yet or when I'm finally going to deliver...🙄
Right now, though, it's just pure irritability and insomnia. I can't sleep for anything—nothing feels comfortable. When I try to lie on my back, it feels like someone placed an anvil right on my chest. And if I flip onto my side? It feels like I'm crushing the little one because they start kicking like crazy. Honestly, there's just this constant, pounding pressure... and I feel like I'm running to the bathroom ten times in half an hour.
When people tell me—specifically my mom—that I shouldn't get worked up because it’ll somehow affect the baby, like they can just sense my stress levels or something... I really do try my best not to let the little things get to me, but honestly, who can actually stay 100% calm for nine straight months??
Plus, I have a 2.5-year-old at home who is constantly cycling through different moods and phases, so you basically have to be on high alert 24/7...
Then there’s the insomnia. During the day, whenever I actually have a chance to nap, my brain just won't shut off. Then at night, I’m just tossing and turning for hours—I get this restless feeling in my legs, and the baby is kicking around so much in my stomach that I can't even get comfortable. And just when I finally manage to drift off... the toddler starts waking up, and then 😵
The newborn is only a month old, too, and she's only just starting to actually sleep...
Olivia Nguyen3 said:What really gets under my skin are those comments... people saying stuff like, "Oh, the baby will come back to life at X months"...🙄 I mean, if I heard a heartbeat at five weeks, then the baby is already here. What kind of nonsense is that? Saying someone might "come back to life" at four or five months... as if they weren't alive to begin with. I can't stand hearing that.🙂
I’ve actually had three different people ask me about this now, but honestly, it’s reached the point where it’s just funny to me. It's mostly older folks who are just used to using that specific phrasing—it's not like they're asking if the baby started moving or anything—so it doesn't even bother me anymore.
What *does* get to me is everyone jumping to conclusions about how I'm going to start opening up just because I go for walks or carry the little one around (which, by the way, was just for a few photos from a trip I sent over WhatsApp—I was just holding him so we could get the shot, you know?) 🙄
This pregnancy has been such a struggle compared to my first one, which felt absolutely perfect. Everything feels heavy right now—I feel sluggish, unmotivated, and like I just want to sleep all day... I am so ready for this to be over and for the baby to be here.
It’s almost been a full year since we moved to our new city And everyone keeps asking if I’m planning to have the baby back in my old hometown. God, why?? I mean, think about the logistics—I’d probably have to head back there at least ten days before my due date, just to stay with either my family or his... and both houses are always absolutely packed with people. So, I’d be giving birth there, and then stuck in a crowded house with a newborn until I’m finally mobile enough to make the trip back to our actual "home." And no, it's not like we moved to some tiny rural town without a local clinic or anything—there's plenty of medical help nearby, and it's not even a question of whether someone will be available to assist me. My mom has already cleared her vacation schedule for it too... So yeah, it’s just one of those things that is seriously getting on my nerves right now.

I actually hired them for my own wedding—honestly, they were fantastic. I was so happy with everything we did together...
I really need to jump in on what Tika said here...
It’s not even the belly touching that bothers me—I actually don't mind that part—but just like you mentioned, it’s my mom that gets to me. When she starts poking at my stomach, it's such aggressive tapping that I honestly start worrying about what's going to happen once the baby is actually born 😁 I felt too awkward to say anything, though. Since the baby is everyone's grandchild, I figured it was better to just stay quiet rather than start an unnecessary argument right now, especially when I have enough on my plate as it is...
My due date is November 22nd, and honestly, the most frustrating thing has been the sheer lack of manners from people lately. You see someone who is clearly, visibly pregnant, and instead of being respectful or letting you go ahead of them, they'll actually race you to the register at Target just to cut in line
And then there's the judgment whenever I pick something out for the little one. People act like, "Oh, why would you need that? Someone else will bring it to you." Okay, fine—I guess I'll just wait two months for someone to show up at my house and buy me exactly what I actually need... whatever...
On top of all that, I woke up this morning and just cried my eyes out like it was a monsoon. I've been up since 6 AM because my hands were so swollen and numb I couldn't sleep at all. My husband and I ended up having to rush to the jeweler just so they could cut my wedding ring off my finger... *sniff*... at least the engagement ring stayed on intact...
I'm looking for some intel—does anyone know a decent coffee shop around the San Francisco area that won't absolutely rob me blind? I need somewhere that actually has some vibe, you know? Like, it’s gotta be stylish and taste good, but still feel young and trendy... not some stuffy old-school place.
Also, if anyone has a lead on a solid local baker or someone who does custom candy making...
Thanks in advance...

I managed to get my catering sorted for 200 people at a really great price—so much better than those big-name companies that will charge you an arm and a leg even for a glass of water $6.75 just because "it's a wedding"...
It honestly drives me crazy—no matter what I say I’m planning to buy, the response is always some variation of, "Why on earth would you need that???"
Like, I told my mother-in-law that I was getting a dresser to use as a changing station—not one of those bulky plastic ones, just a regular dresser where I can put a changing pad on top—and she was just like, "Why can't you just change him on the bed?" Honestly, it's her way of being right... my back is going to be absolutely wrecked if I don't do this. Plus, a dresser is just so much more practical for keeping all his stuff organized—so yeah, we actually went out and bought it yesterday. 😁
Then there's the crib. I really want one with a side that slides down because it seems so much easier for me, but no, apparently that's unnecessary. "Oh, they're more expensive," or "It's all the same thing..." blah blah blah.
Or my clueless sister, who had the nerve to tell me today that I shouldn't even bother worrying about baby gear yet since I can just buy everything in two months. As if! My due date is in two and a half months, and I definitely am not planning on wandering around Target during my final forty-eight hours...
And don't even get me started on the unsolicited advice about chamomile tea or other herbal remedies for newborns, or people suggesting I give a newborn a tiny bit of salt and sugar in water... seriously...
On top of all that, I'm just so frustrated with this constant heartburn and the discharge I've been dealing with since the very beginning of the pregnancy. And the sleep... I haven't slept properly in nights because I just CANNOT find a comfortable position...
And yeah, it's just exhausting how rude everyone is lately. No one would ever let me cut in line; instead, people are literally shoving and rushing past me just to get to the checkout first. It's ridiculous... I'm always the one letting pregnant women or moms with strollers go ahead of me... ugh...

I picked mine up at that Art Shop downtown—you know, the one right across from the main Post Office, near the Semafor cafe
I know for sure they carry silver shades, though I'm not 100% certain about any gold options...
You might also want to check out General Mills over in San Diego, near that Lidl
Joshua Perez122 said:Oh, that sounds awesome for a wallpaper... I mean, what was the whole vibe like there? Does it bother you being stuck in a basement without any windows? And man, do you really think it’s worth dropping that much cash when you have to factor in the cost of food? Thanks!
I actually had a great time It didn't bother me at all being downstairs—there was a pool outside, and guests would head up for breaks, which was really nice. We even had a welcome cocktail and then fireworks later on
Listen, that’s just how the President does things... it's totally normal for them to jack up the price like that. The food wasn't bad, actually—it was pretty good—but it wasn't something I was obsessing over, if you know what I mean. I guess it just depends on what matters more to you... the food, the atmosphere, the price, or how many people are there...
Joshua Perez122 said:Hey everyone! So, over the last few days, we’ve been checking out the Sky restaurant, the Say yes i hotel President ballroom, and the hotel itself over in Solin. Honestly, the guy I'm with is totally loving the Hotel President vibe. But for me... I don't know, the wallpaper is just kind of bothering me? I guess I'm worried about whether it might be distracting while dancing or something. And most importantly—how's the food? If anyone could give me the scoop, I’d be super grateful.
I was there for a party last year and I actually thought I'd be tripping over the wallpaper, but not at all—it was actually more comfortable than dancing on tiles or hardwood floors as for the food, it was alright, nothing mind-blowing... considering what you pay per seat, I definitely expected something a bit more gourmet...
I don't have much time to scroll through the forums right now... I'm in a bit of a rush looking for a wedding cake
Between places like Boise, the Mississippi Delta, Viacom, or Kmart—are there any other bakeries out there I should consider?
Which ones would you all recommend?
I really want something that doesn't taste overly artificial—not looking for anything crazy expensive like some ultra-premium gourmet stuff—but I do need them to actually be able to execute my vision. I'm looking for something with fondant, so it needs to look modern and chic, nothing outdated or "country style."
Kate Martinez33 said:Does anyone in San Francisco know someone who handles custom paper cutting for wedding invitations? Like, is that something I could just tackle myself?
Honestly, probably any local print shop...
I used to work over at a print shop near downtown Chicago once...

I was actually there picking up supplies for some lapel pins, I wasn't really looking at car bows... anyway, still 🙄

Henry Flores5 said:Anyone here making their own invites or thank-you cards? Where do you guys grab your paper? I checked out an art shop earlier and they’re asking like $5 a sheet, which is insane because I need a massive amount...
Wait, what kind of paper are we talking about for $1 a sheet $10? I actually went to a craft store and picked up some patterned paper—it had these embossed designs and a silver shimmer—in B1 size (basically like a huge sheet of cardstock). I paid $7.25 for that one single sheet, but I managed to get 15 envelopes out of it, and you can get way more invitations from it if you cut them right...
For the actual invitations, I bought A4 sheets that were 190gsm thick. It was $0.83 per sheet, and I could get two invitations out of every one...
