One shouldn't forget: Sebastian Vettel - German-Italian - just like the good old days :-)

Button has already mentioned that visibility is nearly non-existent and there are significant puddles on the track, so he's essentially pressuring the FIA to keep the SC out on the circuit.
The driver will likely start from the Box office since they need to top off the fuel immediately; I suppose starting on wet tires might help reduce wear before the race begins.
I suppose if they decide not to restart the race, the standings will revert to the penultimate lap. That would mean the top three spots go to Jenson Button, Timo Glock, and Nick Heidfeld. Following them, we would see Jarno Trulli, Rubens Barrichello, Lewis Hamilton, Nico Rosberg, and then Mark Webber. In that scenario, Mark Webber would only earn a half point for finishing eighth, which is quite similar to how Alain Prost lost the World Championship in 1984. It reminds me of how The Monaco Grand Prix was stopped at half-distance while the Frenchman was leading.
I suppose I tend to agree that we have seen similar circumstances before. David Coulthard maintains that no one has ever been awarded 0.5 points until now, though some might point toward Interlagos 2003, but back then they were racing 75% of the total laps.
The stewards have confirmed that if the race is called early, half points will be awarded to the top eight finishers. In that scenario, Mark Weber would receive 0.5 points—which I suppose would be the first time in Formula 1 history that anyone has actually been awarded half a point.
It looks like there might be about 30 minutes left before the rain forces a stoppage due to visibility issues—if they call it, I suppose the top four finishers will likely only receive half points.
If the rain starts falling, I suppose a red flag could be issued due to the potential for darkness—does anyone happen to know how many laps would need to be completed for the results to be made official if the race is halted?

I suppose you could—maybe setting up a US-based proxy would work—but perhaps we should just let that go for now, especially since it looks like rain in about twelve minutes.😁
ironfalcon43 I suppose I should mention that... I suppose I just can't quite wrap my head around how they managed to strip Lewis Hamilton of two positions in what felt like a single second.🙄
I suppose the reason for that is because the two drivers positioned ahead of him were actually in the pits when the red flag was waved. My understanding is that once the race is halted, the final standings are determined by the order from the penultimate full lap completed by the leader. So, I guess it comes down to the positions at the moment Jenson Button crossed the finish line on that second-to-last lap.
Hamilton challenged an NBC reporter, insisting he actually finished fifth rather than seventh 😂😂
His father mentioned in front of the cameras that while the official result shows him in seventh, there might still be some discussion regarding the matter 🤣
Even a world champion like Lewis Hamilton seems somewhat confused by the final race rankings. When asked about the experience of finishing seventh, Hamilton replied, "I was fifth, wasn't I? Wasn't I fifth?" after which a colleague had to correct him. "Oh, seventh. I thought I was fifth."
