Lisa Davis10 said:It seems as though everyone is just so incredibly happy, with everyone constantly expressing love and affection for one another... 🤣 I suppose one could say that Fernando Alonso has been contending with Lewis Hamilton, much like how Lewis Hamilton has had to deal with Sergio Perez. 🤣

Setting Lewis Hamilton aside for a moment, I suspect that Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa might actually get along quite well. It seems to me that we won't have to deal with those toxic psychological games played by Ron Dennis, which nearly derailed Alonso's career back in 2007 and arguably did the same to Hamilton. These two seem to possess similar temperaments, and they will be supported by an experienced, stable crew. While their rivalry will undoubtedly be intense, I imagine it will be the kind of competition that remains respectful rather than becoming unnecessarily heated.

It feels as though the season has truly begun. I suppose we might finally be witnessing the start of Ferrari's year.

Ferrari takes first and second! Fernando Alonso is finally back where he belongs. It feels like everything is right again, though I suppose it's a shame about all those lost years.

I wouldn't say that—for a nation as great as America, those could be considered historic laps! 😂 It was almost like watching Neil Armstrong's steps on the moon. 😁

I suspect the issue lies primarily with the track itself. It seems quite incredible that they managed to take what was already arguably the most tedious circuit on the schedule and make it even more monotonous. Perhaps it is for the best that we get this one over with early on..😁

Congrats to Sebastian Vettel.👍 Massa taking second place is interesting; I imagine things might get a little heated at the starting line tomorrow. It feels like spring has finally arrived now that the Grand Prix season is kicking off.😍
Schumacher finishing seventh—well, happy numbers to him.😁 I suppose this might be a pretty good season.

I would like to join in the greetings. I also believe this could be one of the better seasons in recent memory, though I doubt I will be able to keep up with all these strong new teams and drivers before we reach Monaco.

It was an impressive start. Sebastian Vettel seems to be signaling that he is done playing around and is ready to win again. Ferrari suggests they have moved past the slump following Schumacher's departure; the new lineup and everything surrounding the Prancing Horse seems to point toward a return to glory. As for McLaren, I suspect even their chassis innovations won't prevent them from having another mediocre season. And Schumacher... well, I wish all the best to those who are retiring. 😬

I think it will be a wonderful season, filled with plenty of upbeat music once the races conclude. 🙂

I am looking forward to the discussions, the passion, the arguments—even the bans on the F1 PDF forum!

Let the race begin! 👍

Hello everyone. I am one year older now... though I wonder if we have actually become any wiser. 😁

I wish you all an exciting 2010 season!

Go Ferrari !!👍

I am in support of this. It feels necessary that both Jason Campbell70 and Mommy's be brought back.
My mother is being a nightmare, help! in Psychology ·
It has been about four hours since the last update. I suppose he might be in an "acute" phase of a crisis right now—meaning something probably happened today that prompted him to post this. It would probably be beneficial if he checked back in; then, if anyone is able to offer concrete advice on what he can do "right here, right now," I think that would be most helpful. Otherwise, my personal opinion is that it might be best, at least initially, for him to simply head to those friends' cabin for New Year's Day, despite his mother's prohibition. This should only be considered if he is certain she has no way to contact them or their parents, so as to avoid any unnecessary drama or scenes. A second option could be finding employment to start generating his own money, though I worry that might negatively impact his grades, which are actually quite excellent. A third possibility—is there perhaps someone else in the family who could offer him support if he decides to stand up to his mother? Maybe a relative, an aunt, or his father's side of the family—someone willing to clash with his mother on his behalf.

Those are just some initial thoughts and suggestions from a bit of a distance—hopefully they serve as useful guidelines for you to consider. I wish you a great deal of luck. Having a mother who has lost her mind, especially if there isn't a father nearby to help, makes for a difficult life problem; however, if this situation encourages your independence and greater emotional resilience for the rest of your life, then perhaps everything can still be turned to your advantage.

I personally feel that Scotman is one of the better moderators on the politics board. I suppose users who feel the need to register more than one nickname should probably be prepared to face all the consequences of their unusual decisions.

I honestly feel that Maminho should be allowed back into Formula 1 discussions on Reddit; if certain soccer players have an issue with him, I suppose they could just deal with that privately on their own files.

Maminho seems to be quite an intelligent and capable young man who possesses an incredible amount of knowledge regarding Formula 1, so perhaps someone as old and out of touch as myself could actually learn a thing or two from him.

He has expressed his regrets and made a humble plea to return, and since it seems people genuinely care about him and want him back—plus, the issues that led to his ban were really just confined to one small, insignificant corner of Reddit—I don't see why it would be a problem...

Come on, Admins... please take action and bring back Maminha! 👍

Give me a break... 😁 I mean, her family home was completely gutted, the piano smashed, photos burned, antique furniture stolen, and even the pool was left in total ruin—all while knowing she has nothing left and has to spend the last fifty years of her life rebuilding everything just to ensure some semblance of security for her old age... and you honestly think someone who went through all that would want to go back and perform in Mexico?

Even Theresa wouldn't be that foolish!

Charles Thomas70 said:Obviously it isn't, because you can't post all the specific details or necessary documentation regarding a case on a forum. You can only speak from memory and offer some vague, general suggestion. Most people just come here for entertainment, and honestly, thank God for that; even I used this forum for entertainment, though if I noticed someone actually needed help, I’d give it to them. Why not?

But mostly, people do show up asking questions about their own problems. Anyone following Legal Forum has surely noticed that. And what are you supposed to do with someone who asks how long pretrial detention lasts without even knowing which GOP official or entity they are even talking about, let alone anything else? You could write a mile-long post about pretrial detention and the different stages of a legal proceeding, but you can't really start a meaningful discussion around an inquiry like that.

I'm sorry you feel that way about the forum, but I believe everything can be fixed—by analyzing it and seeing what needs changing. I think everyone should have a hand in that, both the moderators and the users, since the forum exists for your sake.

As for moderation, I don't want to be blamed for things that aren't true, just like Francesca did. There have been plenty of situations where another moderator might have handed out a warning, but we managed to resolve the dispute via DM without any penalties or fighting. It feels to me like this is just pure criticism—let's just criticize a moderator simply because they happen to be a moderator.

I suspect there isn't much need for deep analysis here. It seems quite apparent who needs to be replaced. Most of the issues would likely be resolved once Katrin is removed from the Law PDF moderation team, which I believe would pave the way for many former contributors to return—those who were perhaps driven away by her gatekeeping or chose to leave on their own because they didn't want to be subjects of her personal biases.

I fear that only then might true conditions for a dialogue regarding the improvement of the PDF be established with the users, provided there is actually a sincere desire to do so.

I suppose this kind of mindset is essentially what causes the disaster over on the Legal board:

crimsonsailor7 said:best wishes to you too 👋

If you want to troll, maybe try other sub-forums or threads where people aren't actually looking for serious advice.

The Legal PDF isn't—no matter how crimsonsailor7 might feel about it—really a place where people come seeking legitimate counsel. I mean, when someone truly needs serious legal advice, they would probably just go to an attorney. People visit the Legal PDF because they're interested in the law as a way to pass the time, have some fun, or just indulge in a hobby. God forbid we ever see a day when internet forums become places where people rely on them for actual legal guidance.

But even if that were to happen, I doubt there would be enough competent lawyers left to help, especially with hostess crimsonsailor7 in charge—most of them have already abandoned the forum.

Charles Thomas70 said:And who are you again? I don't really recall. Could you give an example of my "bad" moderation?

You can't just show up and criticize without any actual arguments. Otherwise, I could just write that you're a bad forum user or a troll, too, without providing any proof.😉

To be honest, I don't really know you at all. However, I feel that the general state of the Law subforum, the childish nature of its topics, and the way people there interact with the Forumas community overall, reflects on everyone responsible for maintaining those spaces.

It seems to me, if I may say so, that even your "supermoderator" Vojky is now encountered much more frequently on the Politics board than on the Law board, which, if I recall correctly, is the very one I established a long time ago.

Bravo, truly a stroke of genius, that conclusion... If you actually bothered to read, you could have just answered the guy yourself. I simply asked him what he needed, maybe he does have to deal with the local records office, how was I supposed to know...

As for that whole mess about forced pregnancy, what you guys did wasn't even a discussion, it was just straight-up bashing and trolling, even after Charles Thomas70 and I warned you all to knock it off. Do you guys need me to draw you a map or something?

Go ahead, keep on spitting venom if you want, it seems to be working out great for you... 👋

It is quite brilliant, I suppose. I generally try to simplify things in my life rather than making them more complicated. I would have been more than happy to explain certain details to that young gentleman from Miami (who, by the way, probably isn't even familiar with the specific legal term for property deeds that you used in your reply), but ever since you joined the Law School, I've started to feel like I'm being pigeonholed for simply trying to be helpful—what you seem to call "acting like a know-it-all."

Well, perhaps you should know—he didn't ask anything, and God knows why you'd make it so complicated. If a person doesn't realize you can't cross an international border with just any old scraps of paper, why would you assume they might understand the distinction between the county assessor and the land registry?

I guess this leads to a situation where you've become a victim of your own ambitions—by focusing so much on PDFs, you've pushed away most of the creative thinkers and left yourself and a lot of confused visitors behind.

Here is a typical example of what a real PDF looks like today (from just a few minutes ago):

mentalny said:I have a question... actually, two!

1. Why do I have to go to the County Clerk's office when I renew my driver's license, and what is that even for?

2. How fast can a new ID be made, and can I use a police clearance certificate to cross the border, since I have to head over to Canada on October 31st...?

crimsonsailor7 said:1. Maybe you mean the property deed and you need the title search?

2. An ID should be ready in about two weeks. You can't cross the border with just a certificate.

What does this even look like? A "Ask a Lawyer" column in the Arena?

One might also notice how, in response to the first question, Her Majesty the Hostess of Rules further confuses the visitor instead of providing a very clear answer that she surely knows (No, you don't need to go to the county office; you're mistaken, you need the land registry and the title for the property where you are registering your residence, or if it isn't yours, then you need the owner's consent to live there).

In some good old days, certain good old uncensored forum members would act educationally, and they would mock and embarrass this specific person so thoroughly that he would never again think of asking such a question under section 2—I mean, imagine him trying to travel across the border with nothing but a paper certificate. 🙄

But instead, we have a forum-like version of Big Brother: a hostess who stifles discussion, monopolizes the "advice," and performs a classic lobotomy on visitors—essentially dumbing them down.

Perhaps it isn't surprising that she became a moderator. The poor thing perfectly reflects the spirit of the times we live in.

Essentially, crimsonsailor7 wants to provide this as a free public service, which I think is a great move.
However, she should probably leave the door open for philosophical discussions regarding certain laws and regulations.
I know for a fact that Vojky enjoys those kinds of deep dives, and he and I often end up bickering over various topics.
The problem is that these subjects can be quite volatile; they have a tendency to spiral quickly into personal attacks and toxic venting.
That becomes especially tricky if you happen to be dealing with someone like rustywalker42.
It seems obvious that crimsonsailor7, or perhaps someone else in charge, has realized that nobody can realistically moderate those heavy, philosophical debates twenty-four hours a day...

However, I think there is a deeper issue here. For a free public service to maintain any level of credibility, the people offering advice should probably be verified experts in their respective fields. We seem to be facing some rather paradoxical situations under crimsonsailor7's model, where an individual offers advice based on their own lived experience, yet crimsonsailor7 then decides the quality of that advice, arbitrarily deleting posts or issuing penalties. I feel such behavior is perhaps unacceptable, because from a moderator's perspective, one should probably respect both participants in a discussion. Not to mention how any urgent request for a referral to an attorney or a law firm is immediately deleted—or rather, redirected to private messages—which leads me to wonder if crimsonsailor7 might be using her peripheral authority over Legal PDF to favor certain commercial interests, and if so, I wonder whose they might be.

The only model of public debate that would actually satisfy crimsonsailor7's demanding standards would likely be one where every single participant has to submit their posts for her majesty's review and approval before anything is published—posts she could then use as raw material to construct some strictly defined vision of legal science, which might partially serve her own private interests or those of her close associates.

This isn't what Legal PDF was like before she arrived. A free discussion regarding law and legal topics isn't just "philosophizing"; it is simply free discussion. It is something that repressive and controlling minds, like crimsonsailor7's, will probably never be able to truly grasp.
So, he didn't reject him? I guess I don't quite see why he would turn down hypothetical scenarios just to please you. Has there actually been an announcement regarding a performance? If not, then there isn't a show. Period. Anything else is just pure speculation.

As for politics and the past—well, obviously people move on from things that happened long ago! I suppose I might even sing for the Republican Party if they were the way they used to be and someone actually wanted to listen to me. I don't really see what the issue is.
