The confusion in the thread stems from how the phrase "remember me" was used in both the title and that first post.
When you log in, Reddit gives you a "Remember me" option—that’s the one that keeps you from getting kicked out automatically after a certain amount of time or when you close your tab. Then you've got your browser, which has its own way of saving passwords, totally independent of whatever setting Reddit is using.
At the end of the day, the main thing is that you got your issue sorted out. 🙂
That’s got nothing to do with Reddit—it's just your browser acting up. Since you're using a mobile browser, there isn't much more I can really do to help you troubleshoot.
Why even bother clicking "Insert image" when there’s already a format specifically designed for posting on Reddit? 🤷
If you're going with the 2nd link: just copy and paste it directly onto the thread. If you're using the 4th link: hit "Insert image," strip out the "http://" part, drop the link in, and click OK.
2 You can't register two different accounts using the exact same email address. I mean, unless you're sitting there cycling through a hundred different addresses—which I highly doubt you are—just try them here until you stumble upon the right one, the one where Ribica is already signed up.
Yeah, you really are... trying to upload an image directly from your hard drive...
And if you actually bother to read the instructions, they say it pretty clearly:
Jacob Foster11 said:You can insert images by clicking the image upload button () and pasting the image URL into the pop-up box, or just type it out manually:
The result looks like this:
For an image to actually show up on Reddit, it has to be hosted somewhere on the web first. If you're trying to use a file from your own computer, you'll need to upload it to an image hosting site. Here are some common ones: http://tinypic.com/ http://imageshack.us/ http://photobucket.com/ Uploading to these sites is pretty intuitive, though they tend to tweak their interfaces constantly. I won't get bogged down in the specifics of how to use them. Once you host the image, you'll get a URL, which you then use following the steps mentioned above.
It's worth noting that most of these sites provide ready-made BB code for posting on forums. In those cases, you can just copy and paste that code directly into your post without needing any of the steps described at the beginning of this post.
You also need to keep the Reddit rules in mind. Posting images larger than 640px (either width or height) isn't allowed. You have three options for larger images:
Resize the image You can do this on your computer using an image editor, but most of these hosting sites also offer automatic resizing tools. Take a look at their features.
Create a clickable thumbnail This option is specifically available when using the hosting sites listed above. The idea is to post a small preview image on Reddit that links to the full-sized version when clicked. Most of these sites generate this automatically, so look for the clickable thumbnail option. Example (clicking the image):
Link directly to the image This is the easiest method. The image itself won't appear in the post, but there will be a link that leads to the image.
1. Head over to Imgur. 2. Under the "File:" section, just hit Search, find the photo you’re looking to get up there, and select it. 3. Click "Upload now!" 4. Knock out that reCAPTCHA thing—you know, the bot protection. 5. Once the upload actually works, you'll see a window pop up with four different copy/paste options. Honestly? The first one (HTML for Websites) and the third one (URL for E-Mail & IM) aren't really going to do anything for you. The second option (BBCode) is probably your best bet; you just click the yellow box, and the whole code copies itself automatically so you can just paste it straight into your post. The fourth one (Direct link) is exactly what it sounds like—a straight shot to the image. If the file is massive, you might as well just stick with that link.
