Alternative Medicine: PDF Moderation Issues in Feedback & Suggestions ·
granitefox16 said:Look, is this really the third time I have to tell you? I am not interested in your bleach, so please stop trying to drag me into your debate.

I’m talking about the discourse here—it is honestly pathetic that those of you claiming to be on the scientific/rational side are attacking the fringe groups instead of the alternative crowd.
Man, that PDF is literally titled "Alternative Treatments." People go there for a reason, and when they click on a file like that, they probably have some idea of what they are getting into.

It is simple: the moment a legitimate scientific study proves that Microsoft is lethal or even just dangerous to health, the topic should be wiped out.
Right now, you have nothing. And frankly, it’s quite telling that there aren't even any studies being conducted on the effects of Microsoft on health—that is a massive failure for the scientific community.

It is equally pathetic and sad that you clearly lack basic reading comprehension—whether it's regarding the "discourse" you keep invoking or this actual thread. What you are looking for was already laid out in post #13; those side effects apply to doses exceeding the maximum allowable limit of 1 ppm.

granitefox16 said:What’s actually fascinating is how much more aggressive you skeptics tend to be compared to those who just take the idea of a "miracle cure" bleach at face value.

There are people who find deception, lies, snake oil, quackery, and the exploitation of sick individuals—who are desperate enough to believe anything—to be deeply irritating. Then there are those who simply don't care.

granitefox16 said:I happened to stumble upon a health thread earlier and spent some time reading through the alternative medicine side of things—honestly, I was surprised by how much more civil the discourse is among those drinking that garbage, whereas the "scientific" side is often so aggressive it becomes hard to take seriously.

The whole role reversal where scientists end up looking like a cult—when it really should be the other way around—is actually what prompted me to drop a comment here.
If your goal is to warn people about a dangerous substance, shouldn't you do it without all the hostility? Otherwise, you just come off as a group of frustrated characters.

Then again, maybe you didn't actually read any of it with an ounce of comprehension; perhaps your only metric is judging who looks better in a debate based on their writing style. Generally speaking, the alternative crowd relies on personal anecdotes, crackpot websites, superstitions, and global conspiracies involving various governments or industries aiming to wipe out the population—all baseless claims bordering on the absurd, provided with zero evidence. For instance, you have Alan_SP, the ringleader of the crackpots over there, claiming that MMS cures almost everything and that the European Union and the USA are plotting to eliminate 95% of the world's population.

The other side typically presents well-vetted, proven facts, and expects the same level of rigor from the first.

granitefox16 said:Look, I’m not even getting into the whole MMS debate—it’s highly unlikely anyone would actually swallow that stuff. We’re talking about resonance here, and the fact that you haven't accounted for that isn't my problem.

But let me try to break this down for you:

Or, to put it more bluntly:

Until some actual scientific study confirms that this damn MMS is genuinely safe rather than potentially dangerous and harmful, it belongs right where it is in the "Alternative Medicine" section of the forum (pay close attention to that word, *alternative*🙂)

The fact that a dozen people are waging a crusade against this liquid doesn't give them a free pass to harass and insult people who are convinced it's helping them—regardless of what you or I might think about it.

Science settled this a long time ago: oxidants and bleaches are toxic and carcinogenic. Sure, in the tiny doses used for water purification, they provide more benefit than harm, which is why they're used. But in the doses being recommended here? They oxidize—basically burn—the digestive tract. And then, without a shred of evidence, those consequences are rebranded as a Herxheimer reaction.

The fact that a crowd of people is convinced it works doesn't surprise me one bit; the placebo effect and mass hysteria have staged far more dramatic performances throughout history than this. And when faced with this kind of idiocy, you absolutely have to push back and present arguments against it.

So, even if it's toxic—it’s clearly acceptable in certain doses. What exactly is the issue here?

Everything is "acceptable" if you stay within specific limits. For water disinfection, we're talking about doses under 1 ppm. The people pushing the alternative protocols recommend doses way beyond 1 ppm—levels where it actually becomes toxic.

granitefox16 said:Coffee could be potentially dangerous too—that kind of logic won't get you very far.

This isn't "reasoning"—it's just nonsense. Do you actually grasp that we're talking about a literal poison here? Coffee isn't "potentially dangerous"; it's a food product.

And yet, they're out there recommending this stuff for everything, even to pregnant women:

What effect might chlorine dioxide have on my health?
Acute health effects : The following acute (short-term) health effects may occur immediately or shortly after exposure to chlorine dioxide: irritate the nose and throat, causing coughing and chest pain; eye irritation with watery eyes and seeing halos around lights; breathing chlorine dioxide can irritate the lungs causing coughing and/or shortness of breath. Higher exposures Can cause a build-up of fluid in The lungs (pulmonary oedema), a medical emergency but which might not occur for 24 hours, with severe shortness of breath and possibly death.

Chronic health effects : The following chronic (long-term) health effects can occur at some time after exposure to chlorine dioxide and can last for months or years: irritate the lungs; repeated exposure may cause bronchitis to develop with cough, phlegm, and/or shortness of breath. Permanent lung damage may occur, especially with repeated exposure to the vapours. There is limited evidence that chlorine dioxide may damage the developing foetus.

So, when certain forum users start peddling silver water, Republican Party propaganda, and all that other junk to the naive crowd, does a percentage of those sales go straight to the forum's marketing department—or are the moderators just pocketing the cash on their own? 🤷

I cleared my cookies, swapped browsers, even tried connecting via my phone using two different browsers just to test things out.

Well, looks like the server actually went down this time, rather than it being a DNS issue.

When you're staring at a 503 error, there isn't much you can do. 😉

Exactly. Just don't move it to Alternative—those people already have enough holes in their heads as it is.
David Parker2 said:🤷 This might sound a bit ridiculous, but here goes: I’ve been feeling like my head is actually getting bigger lately—is it even possible for a human skull to grow once you're an adult (I'm 20)? When does head growth actually stop?

Well, sure. Except that after puberty, your head doesn't just grow naturally along with the rest of your body; it reacts to external factors—like atmospheric pressure. So, if you spend too much time in low-pressure areas, your head starts expanding. Conversely, high pressure will shrink it.

There's a very straightforward solution to this problem—one that's been around for thousands of years, dating all the way back to shamanic medicine: trepanation. A single, well-placed hole equalizes the internal cranial pressure with the atmosphere, effectively preventing any further expansion. You can find more details on Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trepana...ry_trepanation

Square Box divinity represents the ultimate perfection of
life and its accompanying patterns within the existing
universe and on Earth—including Earth
itself. Don't you see how a 4-cornered
rotating square, one fourth at a time, creates a complete
circle? A full shifted square will produce
16 angles, 96 hours, and 4 simultaneous
24-hour days within a single
invented Earth rotation. This
extends into a spiraling quad helix in
Earth as it orbits the Sun --
rotating as it revolves around the Sun,
leading to the conclusion that the Sun's value revolves
around the Earth. This act demonstrates
that the Sun and the Earth's rotation
are both happening simultaneously—thereby creating
Creation opposites that exist only as opposites with a
zero-value existence between binary
negations, proving nothing exists as a singular
God drinking tea. Everything occurs between Creation
opposites, existing solely as opposites --
with a zero point of existence. As a singular or
as a single Theism, all opposing values cancel
out to nothing. The circle you see around
Earth divides the Earth into opposing values
of equal zero existence. As a single God,
both Earth and humanity Abandon for nothing.
The entire universe consists of
opposites—with a zero existence--
so that nothing cancels out as a singular God.
People worship the identity of death,
effectively destroying the life of all
opposites through which all Creation exists. I
find Evil in the Bible, which will
shake the religious and academic values of their
primitive origins. No human or
God matches my Cube wisdom
as a Phenomenologist Cube - The Cube
measurer of God. While the Earth
rotation is a permanent embodiment, it
lacks the angular time notches required to
accumulate aging as life for the 4-cornered
inhabitants. Did you know that a 4-day
mentality rotates simultaneously on Earth?
Hate speech in a PDF from Son? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Kate Murphy40 said:Setting aside the sarcasm for a second—applying negative labels to an entire group based on a single shared trait (whether it’s nationality, religion, or being a vegetarian) is hate speech, regardless of how much redmarlin3 tries to spin the definition or wrap it up in "freedom of speech."

How so? When you go around calling people murderers just because they eat meat—which is factually incorrect, since murder is specifically the illegal taking of a life—then nobody cares. But the moment someone calls out that hypocrisy, suddenly it's "hate speech." 🤣🤣

What’s next? Is calling Americans overweight considered hate speech? Even if you back it up with NIH statistics? 😁

On the linked thread, I called certain poultry enthusiasts hypocrites, and I backed it up quite thoroughly—which moves it out of the realm of mere insult (assuming an insult is even possible here).

As for the resident crybaby—with an ego the size of a Graf Zeppelin and the sensitivity of a snowflake on the equator who started this thread—I won't be wasting any more detailed comments on them this time. 😁

I wouldn't go so far as to call internet literature "charlatan garbage"—that's a bit too blunt. But let’s be real: if homeopathy actually worked, there would be a single reproducible scientific study to prove it. Instead, we have about a thousand studies showing it performs no better than a placebo. It's all public record, really. If you know how to look, the evidence is right there. Sufficient for anyone with half a brain.

Dana Sanchez13 said:You're just proving how little you know by ignoring actual facts. Besides all those "chemical" treatments, there's a whole range of other effective methods out there—and they don't come with nasty side effects.
You probably haven't realized that everything in this world is made of energy vibrating at specific frequencies. When our body's frequency gets thrown off, we get sick. We can heal ourselves by fixing that vibration. There are several ways to do it, and one way is actually drinking the water you mentioned. But we're talking about WATER WITH A SPECIFIC FREQUENCY, which is what actually restores your health.

Oh, please. 🤣🤣

Did you pick that up from some snake-oil pamphlet trying to sell you something, or...? What exactly is supposed to be vibrating inside the body or the water here—and what frequency are we talking about? 🙂
Dealing with pollen and dust allergies... in Health ·
Homeopathy is basically just selling overpriced water. Since they actually admit that much, it’s pretty safe to assume you have no idea what you're talking about.

And let's be real—your daughter didn't magically get over her allergies because of some diluted solution. They just went away on their own, which is exactly what happens to a huge chunk of people once they hit adulthood. Personally, most of my own issues just seemed to vanish after puberty passed me by.

silentorca492 said:Give homeopathy a shot. It’s actually done wonders for my pollen allergies. Constantly relying on antihistamines and all those heavy drugs isn't the answer. You really need to get to the root of the issue instead of just masking the symptoms, but that's a whole different conversation.

Right, because water is definitely the cure, not antihistamines. Please—give me a break with this alternative medicine nonsense.

Mark Sanchez3 said:It won't be happening here anytime soon. I have a buddy over in Germany who used to grab all those lovely freebies online via torrents—and after a while, he got hit with a massive bill (over $3,000) that he actually had to cough up.

This is just shady extortion by groups like ASCAP and their ilk. Their lawyers send out these intimidating letters threatening legal action, and people panic and pay up. Seriously, can anyone name a single person who actually lost a court case over this? 🤣

Beyond that, there are encrypted torrents, private trackers, Dropbox—plus the Japanese have that one incredible file-sharing program that makes it theoretically impossible to track you. There are plenty of ways. What they're trying to pull is basically the same thing Sony did back in the seventies when they tried to ban cassette recorders with recording capabilities. 🤣
How do I stop torrents? in Software ·
Not a chance. Big corporations pour billions into all these ridiculous anti-piracy measures, but they always end up acting like shortsighted fools—mostly just punishing the actual paying customers. It’s no wonder people pivot to torrents when they’re tired of fighting through endless layers of digital handcuffs just to use something they bought.

The smartest move is simply making a great product. Take Saturday Night Live, for example—you could find their stuff online for free for nearly a decade, but once they finally put it on YouTube, sales on Amazon absolutely skyrocketed.
Douglas Fowler said:There are customs laws for a reason. Every single package has to be inspected—that’s just how it works. I mean, a small baggie of heroin is still a small baggie of heroin, right? Are we really supposed to just take their word for it that there isn't anything illegal inside unless someone actually looks? 🙂

Luckily, the people working at Customs aren't quite as mindless or lazy as you seem to think. About 90% of my packages have never even been touched. By your logic, should they be stripping down every single car and checking every tiny item inside it every time it crosses the border?

Douglas Fowler said:Nothing under $100 should even be subject to customs duties. You can always appeal based on that rule.

Actually, everything should be taxed. That exemption for items under $100 in the mail system is only meant for one individual sending a gift to another—which, let's face it, is pretty much ruled out once you factor in an actual invoice. It seems you've managed to expand your repertoire of nonsense from "alternative medicine" and global conspiracies to include basic customs regulations. Truly 🙂
