Facial nerve inflammation / Bell's Palsy help?

I’m running a bit behind on this thread...
I actually went through this twice myself. The first instance happened when I was twenty-two, and it honestly felt like it hit me out of nowhere in the middle of the night. It wasn't just one thing, either; I lost all sensation on the left side of my tongue, and then my entire left face started "freezing up," section by section. Does anyone else experience that creeping numbness? After a month of physical therapy and taking Medrol, everything eventually returned to normal, though it required an exhausting amount of facial exercises—constant grimacing and puffing my cheeks just to get things moving again. That first episode was a genuine shock to my system.
The second time occurred when I was twenty-eight, about three months after giving birth, right when my immune system had taken a massive hit. However, because I had experienced it before, I recognized those early warning signs immediately and managed to get ahead of the paralysis before it fully set in. There was hardly any visible impairment, perhaps just a slightly drooping eyelid and a slight sag at the corner of my mouth. Two weeks of treatment and I was back to my old self.
Thankfully, it hasn't happened since!
