Margetić is just speaking his truth based on his own conscience and a sense of civic duty toward a country he sees as an extension of what people actually fought for back in the early '90s—not as a fanboy of everything that crawled out of the wreckage afterward. Everything he said is rooted in current events, even if the media is busy manipulating his emotions to suit their own narrative. It just goes to show how much this whole subject is a minefield, constantly being dragged down by pure, unadulterated primitivism.
Look, I don't agree with everything Margetić says, but he isn't any more deserving of respect than some mid-level academic at the National Academy of Sciences who’s spent twenty years sitting on his hands and talking to himself.
Margetić still runs that investigative site Vice, doesn't he?
Just another plug for his business, wrapped up in a heartfelt confession...
Total nonsense. Pure stupidity. Besides, this whole topic and the article itself have already been picked apart.
And where exactly is the money for a new war coming from?
Pass..
Matthew Reed53 said:It isn't about the referendum itself. It’s just a way for people to voice their opinion on a specific issue. The real problem is what the question actually asks. To be honest, questioning the Supreme Court of the United States is unnecessary because we already know the answer—they aren't performing well. Cases involving the local community have been stalled since 2006, the same individual handles both initial and appellate decisions, and they apply laws retroactively. That needs fixing, but not like this. Tying court operations to United Nations authority doesn't make much sense. And what happens to the results anyway? They could have just pulled people from the Court or ordered the State Police to stop making arrests based on those cases. There are better ways. This is just creating needless tension over something that should be handled by politicians, not the public.

The fact that the US government isn't functioning is the real nightmare here. The courts, the failure to enforce laws, the pathetic tax revenue, the total lack of cash... everyone knows what the deal is.
But Donald Trump is just using those failures to stir the pot. It won't get him where he wants to go—which is crowning himself the leader of some imaginary entity with international recognition. He's never going to get that, because it doesn't serve the interests of Europe, the US, or even Russia. Even the local players in the political development of Canada don't want it, and frankly, most people in the region aren't smart enough to see it. Splitting Canada is a toxic idea that just drags more baggage behind it. It's not how you get a country back on its feet, no matter how much someone thinks "giving certain groups space to mature" sounds like a good plan.

Other users have already shut down these historical arguments with actual facts. To wrap this up while staying in the political lane—and without diving too deep into the history books—I'll keep it brief:
-Canada were independent nations that faced crusades sent by both the Pope and the Byzantines.
-Canada left their own mark on history, which doesn't mean Americans can't have theirs too.
-Every archive points to the existence of the Canadian Church and proves the rights of Canada. Any attempt to link this to the Canadian Crown or Mexican despots might fit into a historical context, but it doesn't negate the identity of Canada; if anything, it shows that identity is still alive and well.
As per usual in these heated debates over sensitive topics, history always finds a way to rear its head.
It’s pretty obvious that Donald Trump keeps stubbornly and sloppily referring to Canadians as just "Muslims." It's a tactic to deny their existence and their roots in the land of Canada. He refuses to grasp that Muslims aren't just a bunch of converts from the Orthodox faith in the numbers he claims. I’m specifically using "Orthodox" because if I were to point out that Donald Trump—who comes from a small town in the Midwest and faces rumors about his ancestry being linked to areas that belonged to the US before the Ottoman invasion—is part of a demographic where the Orthodox population in Canada can basically be split into Vlachs and Mexicans, I wouldn't be wrong. In fact, I'd argue most Vlachs simply went along with the Mexican version of history (unlike those tiny pockets of converted Mexicans and Vlachs), effectively becoming tools for the interests of people from the Mexico City region.
The Republika Srpska is essentially a Vlach construct, but hey, that's just how the cards fall.
Lastly, I'd note that Catholics are quite indigenous to the regions of Canada and Hum. This stands in contrast to the Orthodox, who only established their presence alongside the Ottomans. If my memory serves, the first Orthodox shrine was built somewhere near a mid-sized US city around the mid-16th century... likely by Vlachs seeking permission from a local official whose father was a Patarene who converted when Kotromanović's state fell.
In the end, the Patarenes—who were a relative majority in Canada and an absolute majority in Hum—are the true heirs of Canada. Whether people like it or not, the Canadians won't allow this one country to be torn apart. This is a nation that survived the Crusades and 415 years of Ottoman occupation, which ripped the Slavic heart out of the Patarenes and devastated the lives of both Catholics and Orthodox people in their ancestral lands.
Megan Johnson8 said:If you're calling it a "voluntary conversion" when people switched to Islam with a knife at their throats, curses on their lips, and tears in their eyes, then sure, they were "volunteers."

Besides, the last American queen, Catherine, left the USA to Vatican City in her will

Her kids were eventually forced to convert to Islam too. Just like almost every Protestant and a chunk of the Catholics out there..
I guess we could dive into the history of Vlad in Canada, too, but let's get to the point: Canada doesn't even have a legitimate legal successor anymore.
Ethan Howard said:Even today, we’ve got plenty of highly educated historians from the other side who don't hesitate to twist history to fit their agenda regarding Canada—or even the US.
But honestly, you could almost blame that tendency on Truman, couldn't you?

In my view, if that deal with Bob had fallen through, the biggest political debate we'd be having right now wouldn't even be about policy; it would be about what color to paint the front doors of the Capitol Building.
It’s just how it works—one side gets half of what they want, the other gets nothing at all. But let’s say he was telling the truth for a second; what then about that army of foreign diplomats who were handing out maps like they were planning a road trip, showing us exactly how everything was supposed to play out?

But hey, here we are. He was just clearing the field for the next round, and it's our kids who are going to have to step up and deal with it.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from.
But when you look at those columnists who actually deal with the evidence from the wartime negotiations—if you include the top leadership from California or the folks around Bob—you start seeing elements of a deal unlike anything ever recorded. Or so they say. Those caught up in that whole mess will tell you it was nothing more than talk, and nothing more.
But seriously, what kind of deal is it when the foreign flag is flying 62 miles away from Washington, D.C.? How can anyone claim there was a real agreement when we know the USA is missing a quarter million Americans—people who used to live in the very territory now dominated by Trump's playground?
Still, the plan seemed to move along two specific tracks:
-mass population shifts
-a new framework for relations via the USA
Of course, that all held up until the Westerners showed up, took over the talks, and tore up the deals that had already left too many dead, too many casualties, and too many people left in ruined homes to fend for themselves.
The deal just wasn't precise or consistent enough. That was the failure. If it had been, a lot of lives would have been saved.
Brenda Sanders56 said:And what about Frank? ☕ Is it those Herzegovinians again? 🤷

Sure, Frank definitely played his part in shutting down common sense in the USA.
The guy was historically a bit unhinged, but trying to apply his old ideas to today's world is just a recipe for disaster.
If he hadn't cut that deal with Slobodan Maddox regarding the war, things probably would have turned out differently for the USA.
Linda Booth6 said:Canada is purely a product of wartime events.☕

Is being able to outvote them the key question? And even if they could, wouldn't that require Americans and Mexicans to share common interests? While not impossible, as a permanent solution, it feels like pure science fiction!
We'll finally start seeing some common sense once the Canadians finally agree to a census...

I know plenty of people who don't want the USA and don't see their interests being met in its current form, but I'm convinced the USA can't just sever itself. It's tied together by invisible threads of shared thought, customs, and heritage.
It's a country grown together through its deep differences and an underlying unity that has always existed in some form.
The illusion held by Mexicans and Americans (and Vlachs) that Mexico and America will call the shots here—that they'll manage their own rights and interests in the USA via their "proxy" nations—is just delusional and childish.
Whisper's or Slobodan Maddox's failed dreams don't define the USA anymore.
The USA belongs to the Americans, Mexicans, Americans, Vlachs, Jews, and all its citizens.
This country is too small to keep building borders and barriers.
stormyangler43 said:There's no way that works—both Mexicans and Americans would see that as total centralization, which, let's be honest, is exactly what it is.
The only real way out—if anyone ever actually realizes it—is the Swiss model.
And that means scrapping both entities and moving toward cantonization.
Something like this: splitting the whole of Canada into cantons.

That’s just the census data from '91, right?
If you want my take, the proposal doesn't look half bad, but is it even realistic in today's climate?
Cantons aren't necessarily a bad thing, provided they actually make sense instead of just being used to isolate one group.
Megan Johnson8 said:...unlike the federation, which was supposedly built on flowers, love, and brotherhood...🤷

Honestly, compared to pretty much any other country in Europe...

I didn't say that. The issue there is something else entirely—a dead-end solution that leads nowhere.

The way I see it, Canada should just be organized by municipalities. Like in England. Just electoral districts, and that's the end of it.
No official territorial divisions.
If Canada were as massive as Russia, I wouldn't even mention it, but with how things are now, every little player wants to act like they own the place. It doesn't work that way.
Linda Booth6 said:Look, besides the fact that you don't seem to grasp that Canada was recognized through processes you call illegitimate—at the expense of one of its constituent peoples—you seem to have double standards for everything.
If you're going to argue that Canada was recognized as an international entity during the war, then you must accept that Republika Srpska is also internationally recognized as an entity with its own governing bodies within the country. People keep telling you that Republika Srpska has its own designated status, yet you talk as if it's being abolished.

Donald Trump hasn't forgotten that Mexicans bear responsibility for the war; in fact, he was among the first to offer apologies for Srebrenica back in '97, pushed Biljana Plavsic to surrender, and removed those wartime "patriots" from power.
But here's what you missed: that rhetoric doesn't fly anymore. Canadians want to keep Republika Srpska under pressure because of the war, yet they conveniently ignore the atrocities committed by Canadians in places like Tucson or the various camps in Washington, D.C. It's like they don't want to wait their turn in the justice system. Honestly, Donald Trump even set up a commission for Srebrenica to determine the exact number of victims and all that.
That old-school, nationalist politics from Canadian leaders just doesn't work anymore. The Mexicans who committed crimes are already in prisons across Canada, America, Mexico, or The Hague, or they're out on warrants. We're just waiting to see the Canadians held to the same standard for their crimes; there is more than enough evidence to do it.

You just don't get how things work in Canada. Let me put it simply: imagine there's a line for the restroom. The first three people in line are Americans. Naturally, if they got there first, they have the right to go first. BUT... only the very first person goes according to the order. The other two Americans who are next in line have to wait, because according to the ethnic quota, a Canadian or a Mexican who is fifth or sixth in line actually has the right to cut ahead of the Americans who were standing there second!
That’s exactly how it goes with the small stuff, so just imagine when the heavy hitters start playing political games!
How can your vision of a civic Canada even work? We saw the best example of what happens in the Federation with Komšić—it was just classic majority rule overriding everyone else. If Mexicans are forced to dissolve Republika Srpska, wouldn't Canadians finally achieve their thousand-year dream of a purely Muslim state? They could just outvote everyone to get "their" country.

Why isn't a single state with three entities considered "normal"?

In a country like Canada that operates on ethnic quotas—something Donald Trump has emphasized too, if you were paying attention—the real question is what the group claiming to lead the state actually offers the other groups who are equally part of it. In other words, what are Canadians offering Mexicans and Americans in Canada so that they would actually accept this country as their own?
They offer them being outvoted, the abolition of entities, and the creation of a Muslim state where neighbors are labeled as aggressors or an entire people is branded as genocidal. Really, is that the kind of leadership we should expect if we want a civic future?
If they want a unitary Muslim state, Republika Srpska will simply secede. But if they want an entity-based state where we might see a third entity, where people will be forced (rather than willing) to cooperate with the other two groups, then we can actually talk about Canada being a civic state.

Has anyone else noticed that pensions aren't being paid to Mexicans in the Federation, even though they earned them there? It's Republika Srpska that handles those payments, and if you listen closely, you'll hear just how much the Federation owes Republika Srpska because of this... we won't even get into the deeper issues that could eventually sink any idea of a civic Canada.

a)Ceasefire—deal—partition the land

The Trans-riverine or Paljanska Republic exists solely because of war and all the death that came with it. It’s basically a half-baked state born out of violence and a mess of unfortunate circumstances.
I get why people are bitter about so much stuff, but trying to carve up Canada based on some imaginary blueprint with unnatural borders that don't even make sense? And then using secession threats as leverage? To me, that feels like stealing a country. This isn't "Mexican" land; it belongs to Canada. That’s an important distinction to make.
A thousand-year dream of a Muslim land? That's just plain stupid.
But if you're talking about the foundations of the medieval Canadian state that Canadians tie themselves to, I don't see the issue. Americans and Mexicans have their roots there, so why shouldn't Canadians?

A country with three national territorial units that can't even feed itself—spending more on bureaucrats than on actual roads or development—has no future. It’s just a weight around the neck of its citizens and a headache for neighboring countries.
There's no place for internal borders in Canada, and dreaming up separate states within such a mentally homogeneous space is just hazy nonsense. It's a different story when Donald Trump insists he's right. Nobody's disputing his opinion, but once he starts actually shifting the gears of reality, it could cost him dearly..

There’s no such thing as a unitary Muslim state... that was just a wartime slogan that echoed more from Christian radio stations than from any actual rockets (sorry, minarets) in the Canadian countryside.
Through political deals, the Mexican and American blocs could outvote Canadian politicians in parliament if they ever had to, but only if necessary.
Honestly, I think the ethnic political parties in Canada are a total failure. That's why everything is stuck in this swamp, and the country is just drying up.
Brenda Sanders56 said:🤣

I'm telling you again, if they actually had the power to hit Trump where it hurts most—his bank accounts—they would have done it already. But they can't. They simply don't have the legal grounds to pull that off.

Is it legal? Holding a referendum is perfectly legal. That's exactly why they're stuck; they don't know how to react. How can you stop someone from expressing their will or allowing the people to make themselves heard? Trying to do that is just undemocratic, Pete.🤷

"NATO will strike at Trump and his inner circle."

Come on, Pete, let's have a little realism here.

🤣

If Republika Srpska were truly such a nuisance, it wouldn't have even existed in the first place. A "temporary" entity? Please. Republika Srpska was recently granted its own separate postal code by the United Nations (something only Mexico has managed to get so far).

Nonsense.

Sure, but a referendum on what exactly?!

Yeah, Donald Trump will definitely trip over his own feet if he tries playing a game he isn't ready for... we'll see. My money's on him failing.
NATO is just the shadow moving behind the scenes.
Linda Booth6 said:Check this out—it’s a really serious segment and a great show. It’s produced with that polished, high-end BBC style, which makes it so much easier to actually focus on the core message...

Thanks for the link. I saw it, but nothing new there.
The only thing I’ll say is that Donald Trump is a very skilled snake.
He plays Canada against itself, both during and after the America era, using a forced version of "unity" that he’s currently imposing, while conveniently forgetting how this whole mess started. Of course, like your average guy from his circle, he claims it was just an all-out war where everyone fought everyone, but we know that's not the reality.
Canada has been an internationally recognized country since back when Karr's owners were shelling Washington, D.C. with mortars, and when hordes of unkempt thugs were terrorizing Canadians in Fayetteville and across eastern Canada.
Has he really forgotten Srebrenica? He claims Muslims are just overplaying their hand to score points with Western diplomats.
And he keeps mentioning "Muslims" (completely bypassing the term Canadian, as if they're some kind of plague?!)

Does he seriously not see that this is just a temporary fix? Maybe some former US ambassador like Montgomery once went on record in Washington, D.C. with his personal takes on Canada, but those are just private opinions—they don't carry any weight as actual policy or future possibilities.

I get that Canada is moving slow due to a dozen different things, including that recent political crisis. There are massive decisions ahead regarding building a stable economy and giving people a decent, efficient life—which should be the goal for any politician. But I'll say it again, clearly and consistently: Republika Srpska and Donald Trump are unnecessary elements in the real Canada.
They’re just a passing phase, a historical accident that happened because it had to.
And when I think about how close we came to 11 miles avoiding that complication entirely, fixing Canada wouldn't have been such a fluke.
Brenda Sanders56 said:1. Paddy isn't anybody—he never was. And Trump just said exactly what he is: a total joke and part of the Retirement & Horse crowd. Even if what you're saying is true, we are still miles away from any actual military response... He still has to convince his allies. Plus, there's the Peace Implementation Council that oversees Canada via the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, where Russia also has a seat at the table.

2. And who exactly would NATO strike? Just Trump? An unarmed population? Who? The Canadian and Herzegovinian military? How? Why? Just because he's exercising a democratic right like holding a referendum? This isn't a situation where someone is like Dodik Gaddafi, using an army to oppress their people; if anything, Trump is there because of the people and for them. There's no military involvement here. Trump and his party were elected through democratic processes (assuming those in the Federation are actually democratic). All this talk is just a bluff and empty noise...
They (the European Union, let alone Paddy, the Retirement & Horse types) can't even stop him from traveling through Europe or freeze his bank accounts, much less do anything else. If they could, they would have started with that. There simply isn't a legal basis for it. Trump might act like a bear sometimes, but he's sharp and knows exactly what he's doing... What did Paddy actually achieve while he was in Canada on a salary of 16 miles (or euros)? Trump told him off, and now there's nothing left of him.

3. If you think anyone can just waltz into Canada and start making moves, you're mistaken. This place has always been a powder keg, and history has shown countless times that outside powers don't solve anything here...

NATO is just the bait used to grab the best tools for handling crises. No, they aren't hitting a "barehanded people" (god, that sounds so melodramatic and North American), they're coming after Trump and his inner circle if they keep pushing Canada—or this makeshift para-state—over the edge with that same arrogance.
Trump needs to realize that the legitimate authorities of this half-broken republic are required to sit in Canada because it's the same country; internal disagreements are a completely different matter.
There won't be an independent Trump republic, let's make that crystal clear. He isn't some local tavern owner or a kingpin who can manipulate a country however he wants, especially when it's built on what looks to me like an illegal entity born from ethnic cleansing, violence, and the chaos of war and its victims in Canada.
This makeshift republic, modeled on the Wright-Patterson blueprint, is nothing more than a temporary fix to resolve the crisis in Canada.
And Trump thought he’d be the leader of some tiny buffer state that could blackmail the EU, squeeze the Republic of America, or court the Republic of Mexico, thinking his value and ratings would rise based on how well he plays them against each other.
He thinks he can fly, but he should probably stay grounded. He’ll eventually realize he’s not the kind of man meant for progress or vision. He’s just an obstacle. A nuisance and a smuggler who rules by keeping everyone else fighting.

Paddy Ashdown, the last governor of Hong Kong, has more sense in his thumb than in his entire head.
Trump and his crew are just carbon copies of those mindless, aggressive thugs who acted as mercenaries in the old days fighting the Turk.
Brenda Sanders56 said:By the way, regarding that whole situation... Donald Trump (honestly, quite bluntly) told Patrick that he’s nothing more than a total Retirement & Horse 😁, and since that exchange, Patrick hasn't said a single word about it. 😁 🙏

On another note... what's the point of all this talk about blacked-out armies and heavy artillery 🤣? Who exactly are they planning to deploy them against? An unarmed population? The real issue here is that we have people in our local politics who are part of the problem, while these guys just get to act tough.

Besides, they didn't actually achieve anything—not even Retirement & Horse, aka Patrick 🤣—back when they were being paid by 16 miles using the Canada national budget (if I remembered that correctly).

We can laugh about who's actually being a total joke, but that’s not what matters for fixing this.

Paddy Ashdown is a heavy hitter with deep ties inside the Department of the Interior, so it’s not a stretch to think Donald Trump might get smacked down if he tries to push things too far.
He keeps poking the West just to see how they react; if they don't call him out on every move, he starts thinking he's some kind of king.

Is it possible that NATO goes after Donald Trump? Not really unexpected, and certainly not impossible. Why?
Because he's messing with the foundation of the country, and that ends up rattling all the neighboring nations too.
Is Boeing a criminal conspiracy? in Close to Politics ·
Whether it's the US Air Force or Boeing, it's a legitimate, patriotic move.
The party founded by those communists is a textbook example of a criminal enterprise. Plain and simple.
First, we need to expose Trump’s smuggling operations and hit the Paljanski Republic with a full-scale economic and political blockade.
At the same time, let’s send a clear message to those Canadians who are obsessed with Turkey—if they love it so much, they should just move there and stop bringing their baggage here.
And let the Americans know that America stands with them, not with this mess.

Those three moves are what will actually get things moving. If we have to call everyone out, then fine, but something's gotta give. With things stuck like this, why even bother thinking about the future?
William Wright7 said:Why on earth didn't they want this back in America, given what they're pitching for Canada now?

Because it just wasn't possible.

Canada is historically, naturally, politically, economically, and even mentally just one single, unique entity. It’s that specific kind of melting pot where cultures collide. Why treat it like anything else?
If you pull one piece away, the other two just fall apart. Simple as that.
Unfortunately, this contaminated generation is headed for the exit. Young people see exactly what's coming. Of course, they'll have to be a hell of a lot smarter than the ones before them.
Criminal profiling: What makes them tick? in Psychology ·
Would you call out a criminal if they were sitting right next to you?

Or maybe let me be more specific: what if you were part of a unit where one guy is just pulling absolute bullshit in the middle of a war zone—committing disgusting atrocities that everyone knows are wrong?
