Project: Find a Friend (Classifieds / Meetup Thread) in Psychology & Therapy ·
Well, here I go again, trying a trial-and-error approach with ein brandneues method, since everything else has been a total bust so far. 🕺

I'm looking for friends, age 25+, living in Chicago. Women, if possible. I strictly want one-on-one hangouts because groups (like those Psychic sessions and stuff) just aren't my thing; I end up shutting down, freezing up, getting confused, terrified, or just miserable—counting sheep and praying for an exit strategy.

I’m really not interested in guys. Unless they play electric guitar (blues/rock), because that would be the only way we'd actually have something in common or even understand each other—music is my profession, after all.

Maybe some aspiring writers would fit too; I relate to that world. Hess is my absolute idol and greatest love; it feels like he wrote specifically for me.

Aside from what I mentioned, I don't have any other interests. Nothing in the outside world catches my eye—no sports, no gyms, no classes, nothing. But I do love animals and I have a dog.

Don't bother with hookups or dating right off the bat. I look a mess, I have zero self-confidence, and I'm definitely not exactly "partner material" for anyone.

As for my psychiatric history, it's a mixed bag, ranging from clinical depression to social phobia. I'm not exactly "normal" or predictable by the system's standards, but I'm not a danger to anyone else—only to myself. Honestly, my biggest issues are sudden mood swings and bursts of pessimism and sarcasm that sometimes spiral into mania.

There. This is probably my hardest attempt yet at writing a coherent, decent ad that covers the basics. I don't even know how it sounds because I didn't write it during a manic episode; I actually followed someone else's instructions and advice from books. So, maybe someone will actually reach out this time? Or maybe everyone will just run away even faster? Who knows.

Wait, which monument are you even talking about? 🤔

Seriously though, you guys are incredible!!

And then, in the end, only 3 people actually show up...

Honestly, you could probably use a little prayer right about now.

Unbelievable, those town hall meetings of yours actually still exist... 🤣

Show up to the live troll session... it's the only way to go. 😉 Just some fun, general-purpose nonsense... 😍
(No content provided to rewrite.)

How about Friday? Keeping it strictly weekend mode... 😬 It’s not an attack or anything... just people hanging out. Maybe some solo or group therapy if things get heavy... 😁

What about the Altica situation? I have zero interest in being anywhere near him when he shows up.

Chris Robinson25 said:Honestly, I used to think people were just total idiots—and let’s be real, about 95% of them are, mostly because of how they've treated me. But this sub? This is where that other 5% hangs out. You know, the 5% actually worth the time. 🙂 Since joining this forum, I’ve met three amazing girls and two guys who have become so close to being my actual best friends. If you’re reading this, you already know exactly who I mean. 😉 So... once you've got your act together, come say hi. 🙂

Fine

Chris Robinson25 said:I think she’d fit right in if she decided to join us. 😉 There are some great people here. Honestly, you find the absolute best of humanity posting on the Psychoanalyst. I know that from experience.

Well, maybe I'll make an appearance eventually. But not like this—right now, I'm just a walking target for everyone else's nonsense. I need to pull myself together first.

Chris Robinson25 said:Looks like you're only interesting to your boyfriend. Honestly, I don't think anyone else is even paying attention anymore. 😁

Oh, please. I already know I'm worthless trash to 99% of you.

So why don't you tell me something I don't already know?

Chris Robinson25 said:Seriously, go screw yourself somewhere else...

What am I supposed to do? This is one of the few things keeping me sane right now—venting on this damn Psychic Assembly thread and trolling everyone.

You never miss a beat, do you?..

I’d love to show up, but only if I knew for certain that certain people weren't going to be there.

I need someone to...

tap-tap-tap...
tap-tap-tap-tap-tap...
click-clack-snap-pop...
thud-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap..

...just tap away! 😁

My chat on the psychoanalyst's couch has become incredibly dull, and honestly, I could use some rhythmic tapping. 😬

Exactly. That is, if we actually bother to think for ourselves. 👍
Why do we feel the need to hide our emotions? in Psychology ·
Richard Wells said:What can I do about this?

Emotions are nothing more than straws used by various people and groups to suck the life right out of you.

Guilt and fear are the most obvious ways anyone tries to exert total control over someone else.

Sounds erotic. 😁

Jeremy Scott said:Paul White80 won't show up. She thinks Anna might actually eat her alive, plus everyone in those bars smokes indoors anyway.

So what's the plan then? I'll show up once Anna is gone and my gas mask finally arrives from eBay. 😁
