Push-ups and abs? in Health ·
Good afternoon. I’ve been putting in work with push-ups and sit-ups for about four days now. I’ve heard through the grapevine that these are the gold standard for building a solid physique, and since I’m currently in that prime growth phase—fifteen years old, standing 6'0", and weighing about 143 lbs—I’m curious about the timeline. Realistically, how many days or months will it take before I actually start seeing the fruits of this labor? Thanks in advance!

Supplements and pills are off the table.
thanks

And how old are you, exactly?🙄 😕

D'Adamo, you’ll know he approaches the subject from that exact angle—suggesting that certain blood types might be more predisposed to oncological issues than others. According to his theories, those with type O or B seem to see significantly fewer instances of carcinoma compared to those with types A or AB, though he’ll be the first to admit we still lack a definitive scientific explanation as to why this pattern exists. Of course, he’s careful to add a necessary disclaimer: having a type O or B blood group isn't a guaranteed ticket to a diagnosis, nor does it mean you're somehow shielded. It’s all highly speculative, but it certainly raises some interesting questions about biological predispositions.
On the contrary, if you fall into category A or B, you're essentially sitting ducks for this. Personally, I suspect that if someone is a heavy smoker, their blood type becomes a completely irrelevant variable when it comes to the risk of developing cancer. It’s hard to imagine such a massive lifestyle factor being overshadowed by something as biological as blood type. I’d be curious to hear everyone's take on this. Have any of you actually known someone who battled this specific disease? If so, did you happen to know their blood type? It would be interesting to look at the numbers here—just to see if this scientist, doctor, and author is actually onto something or if we're all just chasing ghosts.

Please... President, ban this thread.

I’m about 6'0" and only clock in at 143 pounds. To hit what most would consider an ideal weight, I’d need to pack on another 18 pounds, which—let’s be honest—is going to be an uphill battle.

Personally, I wouldn’t say my diet is anything to write home about. Every morning at school, I usually just grab a quick sandwich made with cheese, salami, and a bit of ketchup. For lunch, it’s typically a mix of fries, beans, peas, spinach, and chicken—most of the time, anyway. When evening rolls around, I tend to stick to sandwiches with various teas or creamy spreads, and so on. To wash it all down, I mostly stick to milk, water, or those store-bought multivitamins juices you see everywhere.
Bent wire in Health ·

I wear fixed braces myself, and while my bracket has only come unglued once, I've had the wire pop out of the ring more times than I care to count. In those instances, I simply swung by my orthodontist's office to have them thread the wire back in or glue the bracket down. These are minor technical hiccups that happen to everyone dealing with orthodontic hardware; I find the idea of a dentist being genuinely incensed over such trivialities quite baffling. Just head into the clinic and let them straighten the wire—it’s really that simple.

But it hasn't even shifted that much, and I fail to see why I'd need a professional adjustment unless the whole thing actually snaps.

I’m currently wearing fixed braces, and I’ve noticed the wire has actually warped—it’s sort of bowed inward between the units. I’m in a bit of a bind because I can't exactly go back to my orthodontist; the bracket has already snapped three times now, and he’s honestly reached his limit with me. At this point, I feel like if I showed up at the clinic again, he’d probably kick me out of the office entirely. My best guess is that the wire bent when I bit into something a little too hard. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of thing, and am I looking at any major complications if I just leave it as is?
Just venting... in Health ·
Look, man, I’m dealing with a similar situation regarding my anatomy. My shaft is covered in these tiny white bumps, which, from what I can gather, seem to be hair follicles. There’s one particular bump that’s significantly larger than the rest, and I’ve even noticed actual little hairs starting to sprout from them. To be perfectly blunt, I think it looks pretty unsightly. These aren't just on the scrotum; they're right there on the shaft itself. I remember reading somewhere that these things are basically permanent and stick with you for life, which isn't exactly the news I wanted to hear, especially since I'm only 15. Honestly, the thought of being naked in front of a girl and having this be an awkward moment is weighing on me. I haven't exactly rushed to see a doctor, though, mainly because I live in a tiny, quiet town where everyone knows your business.
Dead tooth – what are my options? in Dentistry & Oral Hygiene ·
Hey everyone, I’m 14 years old and about two or three years back, I took a hit to one of my front teeth. Since then, the tooth has darkened significantly—basically, it died. I eventually went to see a dentist, and they managed to whiten it for me. My main question is: how long is this whitening actually going to last? Am I looking at needing a high-end porcelain crown relatively soon? To be honest, the texture of the tooth feels just a tiny bit different than the others when I touch it, though it hasn't caused any actual issues or pain. Thanks in advance!

I’m looking for some honest feedback here—am I actually eating a healthy diet? Here is the general breakdown of my daily intake: for breakfast at school, I usually grab some toast and a multivitamin juice. Lunch varies quite a bit; sometimes it’s a hearty beef stew, other times it’s chicken with potatoes, or just a bowl of spaghetti. However, I make it a point to have a bowl of Nesquik cereal with milk every single day without fail. I also tend to drink nearly a quart of milk daily and find myself snacking on milk chocolate bars pretty frequently. When it comes to dinner, I usually stick to dairy-based spreads, cheese, and deli meats like salami. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
