Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Wait... you're telling me even at 6x, it won't push past 250 FSB?
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Maybe the motherboard hit its limit... hmm??

Still, it beats running on stock settings.
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
hm.. maybe try lowering the multiplier..
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
What motherboard and everything else are we talking about here?
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
A high multiplier definitely helps..

Think you can crack Super Pi?

Nice overclock... though that lady on the background is even better. Honestly, she's probably the reason your GPU temps are running a few degrees higher than they should be...xD

OCCT is acting weird on me... it’s reporting temperatures 15 degrees higher than every other program I run... WTF
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Ugh... when I fire this thing up (11 x 250 = 2.75), temps sit right around 29...

I’m not losing my mind here... I set the BIOS to 1.2V, but CPU-Z and PC Health are reporting 1.168...

No advanced techniques have been applied yet...

Just thought I'd share: I've got that same CPU sitting at 2.75 GHz with voltages set to 1.2V in the BIOS—which actually clocks in at about 1.168V real-world. Might be worth a shot...

🤣 But changing the factory settings... anyway, should I set the voltage to manual or auto? Because Core Temp shows my CPU at 1.325v, but if I switch to manual and set both the voltage and the CPU to 1.325v, sometimes it won't even boot. WTF

Here is a little underclocking ...
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Did some light testing on the CPU. Hit a Front Side Bus wall at 425
A few more results here
And SuperPI 1M came in at 18.610sec...

Man... when am I finally getting my hands on a P35-DS3 and a Sonic Tower? 🙂
I ended up killing my GPU because the CPU just couldn't keep up anymore...
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
It’s just not hitting 6.4 GHz... you've got two cores running at 3.2 GHz each.
So, I'm just waiting on my Sonic Tower to arrive...
Then you can just slap another 120mm fan in there—it'll run like a beast.
Or, if you want the budget route, go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212.

2 x 3.2GHz..
By the way, your temps are about 5 degrees higher than mine (I'm using the stock cooler too)
Under normal load or gaming, I don't break 60 degrees.,,,
But down the road, you might want to look into getting some better cooling.
Overclocking (Main Thread) in Desktops ·
Nice... what kind of cooling are you running?

Doing it through the BIOS is more reliable... check the link above... let me simplify things here: you can overclock an e4xxx series on a Gigabyte board without messing with voltage or worrying about frying your components...
just hit the Del key to enter the BIOS
then head over to Frequency/voltage control
set cpu host clock control to enabled
for the cpu clock ratio, it's 11x for an e4500, 10x for an e4400, or 9x for an e4300
now, increase the cpu host frequency (FSB) gradually, maybe by 10-15MHz at a time... the default is 200MHz
set the PCI express frequency to ASYNC or FIXED at 100MHz
regarding the system memory multiplier SPD = if your FSB gets too high and you can't boot into Windows, drop it from Auto down to 2.66 or 2.00
Memory Frequency (Mhz) refers to the RAM speed... try to keep it near the stock frequency (667 / 800)
there... hope that helps... I managed to OC my own chip from 2.2 to 2.93 before the board hit its limit😁
