Michelle Palmer6 said:It’s actually pretty ironic how the Bridge ended up sabotaging themselves by winning so many seats. If they had just held onto a handful of mandates, they could have played the role of a constructive opposition. That would have allowed them to stay relevant until the next election without constantly being caught in the crossfire between the left-wing and right-wing media outlets and various political pundits. Instead, they landed themselves in this total lose-lose situation during coalition negotiations; every single choice they make regarding the administration ends up discrediting them in the eyes of at least a small slice of the public and their own voter base. Because they're stuck in this bind, I truly believe the only way to judge their performance is by watching what they actually do once they finish forming a government. How they choose to act within the administration and their impact on the country will be the ultimate litmus test. And that is exactly how I intend to hold them accountable!

They can go back to preaching to the choir now—I'm sure nobody will push back then.

By the way, regarding that clown from Petrin—based on what that Bridge defender (who clearly supports him) was posting on political forums, it looks like everything was already a done deal with the Republican Party anyway. It was all just theater.

As for Bridge and Petrov—from what we've seen so far, it's obvious they aren't the "change" people are looking for. We're basically stuck waiting for someone decent to show up in the next election. If someone comes along with an actual, clear reform plan—and more importantly, a way to actually implement it—without making a massive media circus out of it, they'll easily grab 30 seats. Meanwhile, this crowd with nothing but a wish list barely scraped together 20.

What are we even talking about? They’ve spent a month straight blathering on about reforms—only to flip the script at the last second and side with the GOP after their proposals were shot down. But hey, they finally settled things regarding ZERP ☕

Wait, I just realized the local Republican Party backed Bandić’s budget today—basically giving a green light to a guy facing multiple criminal charges to keep riding his high as mayor of the capital.

By doing this, they’ve basically been enabling this criminal activity long before they even officially took power.🙏 🙏 It’s pure surrealism.🙏 🤣

Sure he will—but given how this whole thing is playing out, it wouldn't be a shock if they showed up to the Congressional inauguration only to find themselves a seat or two short. It’d be a total disaster.

In a way, it’s actually for the best—let them finish what they started back during the "saintly" Franjo era, so we can finally hit rock bottom and get it over with. We aren't exactly far off anyway.
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
And most importantly, they need Bandić’s touch—so both he and Mamić could finally take a breather today.

It’s not a coalition—it’s just cooperation 🤣

In just one month, Božo Petrov has managed to sink even lower than Joe Biden or Mike Pence, guys who have been working on their reputations for years. Since everyone knows how I feel about the Republican Party—basically, they're the ones burying the American dream—I can only wish him a swift political exit. It’s obvious to anyone with eyes that the Republicans aren't going to let him touch a single thing on that "reform" wishlist of his.
Can anyone help me get a partial ban lifted on ESPN? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It doesn't just happen automatically—partial bans are basically permanent, and that six-month mark is really just the earliest you can even ask for a removal.

We’re still debating whether to pull yours, so just hang tight.

Supposedly they didn't find anything—they just got a tip from some high-level agency and decided to act on it.

Emily Ward3 said:The attackers were firing at people while screaming 'Allahu akbar' at the top of their lungs!

But sure, I'm sure you know their motivations better than they do. After all, they're clearly such intellectual giants that they must have studied hundreds of history and economics textbooks before deciding this was the best course of action.

The media wants us to look at these politicians—as if staring at them actually changes anything. It’s all just a performance for the cameras.

Amanda Evans2 said:I honestly cannot wrap my head around why this handful of self-proclaimed intellectuals feels the need to dig up bloody historical grievances just to justify something like this.
I mean, if I were to go out on December 5th and massacre 120 people at a Bruce Springsteen concert in Madison Square Garden, would I really be entitled to an apology based on the fact that I’m "traumatized" because my home state was hit by a war twenty years ago?
Trying to find excuses for violence, while simultaneously trying to lecture us uneducated masses on how beautiful and wonderful Islam is—usually by using those French flag emojis on their Facebook profiles—is quite possibly the most sanctimonious level of nonsense I've ever encountered...

Nobody's out here asking for justifications regarding something like this—honestly, I don't know why it even needs to be mentioned, let alone debated. It’s just a pointless conversation.

I think we’re all mature enough now to actually talk about what caused this—without the theatrics. The root issues go way deeper than just religion, and that should be obvious to anyone who does more than glance at a headline once a week—or even those who've been paying actual attention to how this attack unfolded.

As for the whole religion debate—I only jumped in because I felt physically sick reading someone claim you have to distance yourself from Christian teachings just to justify killing. Apparently, they forgot that history spans a bit longer than twenty years.

You're missing the point because your entire argument starts from a flawed premise. They didn't attack because of religion, they didn't attack because we're "infidels," and it's not some grand scheme to Islamize us (?). The attack wasn't about faith—it was driven by other factors that you, Emily Ward3, that wannabe comedian Ken, and the rest of you seem determined to ignore, which is exactly what this thread has been debating for three days now.
They use religious rhetoric because the people pulling their strings have brainwashed them into thinking there’s a reward waiting in paradise—but that isn't why the attack happened.

For three days now, you've been bashing Islam, yet you conveniently forget how many people have been slaughtered in the name of Christianity—and you also forget that "peaceful" Christians in this country have only managed to nearly wipe each other out twice in the last century.

Besides, when you start quoting the Old Testament—all those lovely verses about forgiveness and peace...🙄

No, Islam isn't inherently violent, just as Christianity or Buddhism aren't—even though millions have died in the name of all three. Why? Because there are enough corrupt people in this world to twist any belief system to serve their own petty interests. Attacking Islam is an insult to the millions of people who have lived peacefully in America for generations under that "violent" faith.

Personally, I don't think religion does anyone any good, but I can understand why some people need it. Still, seeing one religion like Christianity being placed on a pedestal above all others—it's honestly nauseating.

We're talking about causes here—nobody's actually making excuses for this, nor would any sane person.

Since we’re going there—all religions are basically the same thing, just playing out on different timelines. What you see from radical groups today is exactly what American Christians were doing two centuries ago—killing heretics and spreading faith through warfare. Some might argue two hundred years is a long time, but that’s really just three generations.

That massive development gap everyone talks about? It’s a major reason why things are this broken. And the blame lies squarely with Western nations that colonized half the globe—keeping them suppressed while stripping away everything of value.

The second cause is a modern attempt at the same old game, only now it’s directed by America. The U.S. is essentially trying to colonize Middle Eastern countries for their energy resources—using war, killings, and the funding of terrorist organizations to get it done. In the last decade alone, maybe a million innocent people died as collateral damage in their colonial wars. That breeds nothing but a desire for revenge and pure hatred—just like what happened here yesterday. When you combine that with underdeveloped societies that are easy to manipulate, religion ends up being a pretty minor factor in the grand scheme.

For us, this tragedy in France feels much heavier than a million deaths in the Middle East—mostly because we share enough cultural DNA to actually imagine it happening to us. It’s a normal reaction, and I’m not going to play the hypocrite by pretending otherwise. But that doesn't mean we should ignore the root causes or pin everything on faith—it isn't that simple. I’m not just talking about this one incident, either; I’m talking about the pattern across the entire Western world for the last twenty years, and likely the next twenty.

Labeling and discriminating against people based on their religion is a massive mistake. In Europe, much like here in the States, the far-right would love to start "purifying" the continent—conveniently forgetting that Hitler had a similar vision. There are too many Muslims in Europe living peaceful, honest lives just trying to provide for their families to let some loudmouth claim Islam is the sole problem or a terrorist religion. I’m not a religious man myself, but it’s just plain stupid to attribute everything to faith while ignoring everything else happening in the world.

Look, after the presidential election, they didn't have anything left to go after there—that's just how it is. It's not like the Republicans were the only option on the ballot; they could've gone with any third party or whoever else. But instead, they stuck with the GOP and local machine politicians 🤦

On another note, I have to say I’m pretty satisfied with how Željka Markić performed in the elections. Hopefully, she’ll just fade back into the margins and stay out of the spotlight now.
Offside Chat Archives (2014-2021) in Soccer ·
No, there's no way he'll let someone else take the Prime Minister's seat—he'd honestly rather lose the election than agree to that. 🤣

It’ll happen to the Republicans first, though it won't be because of the party leadership—it'll be those people pulling the strings in the background who decide it's time to pull the plug.

Morgan Williams said:I’m stuck wondering if these people are just incredibly dim-witted—to put it politely—or if they’re actually malicious, trying to spite those of us who stayed behind in the States. Honestly, I don't see the point in their ballots.

It’s a unique mess.

First off, I think the recent expats—mostly the younger crowd—aren't even bothering to vote because they want zero ties to this swamp; they're just happy to be gone, and that’s enough for them.

Then you have the ones who fled during the war without looking back—they feel the need to prove they’re "better" than the rest of us staying here, so they cast a ballot.

Then there are the uninformed folks who still cling to old political tropes from decades ago, linking certain parties to patriotism—completely unaware that "patriotism" around here has just become a code word for theft and corruption. But hey, when you haven't set foot in the US for years, you wouldn't know what's actually happening.

Then you have the ones who are simply stupid.

And don't forget the people being paid to show up and vote... etc.

There are plenty of scenarios—and I doubt any of them are pure malice—but I honestly think the biggest issue is misinformation, followed by deep-seated complexes, and then everything else.

Morgan Williams said:If this thieving coalition grabs an absolute majority, they’ll be throwing parades just like they did back when we had that referendum on LGBTQ+ rights. The only way we'd see an even bigger celebration is if the government somehow made some extremist slogan the official salute for the U.S. Army.

But fine, looking at it objectively, Tomislav Karamarko is the literal embodiment of this nation, as terrible as that sounds. 🤦

The diaspora—88% voted for him. 🤦

And then there’s the runner-up at 3%—Mayor Adams. 🤦

Then people wonder why we shouldn't let them vote. It's not about stripping their voting rights—it's more about barring their entry to the States for the summer.
