Sarah Wilson95 said:The series itself feels like total trash to me, though I suspect the real issue isn't just the crude jokes about "pigs"—which, honestly, is pretty offensive regardless—but rather how the show attempts to portray some sort of generic, multinational lifestyle in Canada. You see all these diverse names popping up, people drinking alcohol, chasing women, and the lead actor, James Earl Jones, seems to be playing a character whose mindset is stuck somewhere back in the heyday of the CIA... and so on.
It’s obvious that pulling at "religious sentiments" is always the easiest way to get a reaction out of an audience, much like those old episodes involving Voldemort we saw back home.
Unfortunately, it seems like local networks are just cranking out even worse garbage lately; looking at the television landscape across the Middle East, especially these interconnected networks, they seem to have been completely stripped of any sense of humor, irony, or the kind of sharp cynicism that defined the last few decades.
They just don't seem to know how to navigate life in a democracy.🤣🤣
Give me a break.
I don't watch the show, but I'm telling you, everyone is full of it.
Look at American shows; they mess with Jewish people, Italians, Irish, Black communities, Catholics—they intentionally caricature certain traits.
It's the 21st century. If you don't like what's on TV, change the channel (assuming you follow the law, of course).
In Canada, Muslims allow themselves to believe they are the only ones who matter. They can joke about anyone else, but mention pork and suddenly some martyrs or mothers start screaming at you...
This is a textbook case of "Muslim multiculturalism," and nobody should be able to defend it.
