Ah... I can see it clearly now. : )))))))

I usually just listen to his podcasts if I can't catch a show—it's my fallback. And honestly, whenever I head out the door, I make sure to declare ...for I am not possessed by this house. 😍

I have been suffering at work all day—mostly because I am strictly forbidden from getting too deep into movies during office hours.😢

Here we are.

My top 6 favorites that roughly fall within this year:

1. Dear Wendy (Thomas Vinterberg) —absolutely gorgeous, truly stunning, just beautiful. 😍
2-6. 2046, Trauma (Marc Evans), Tony Takitani (Jun Ichikawa), Mysterious Skin (Gregg Araki), Broken Flowers (Jim Jarmusch)

The top 6 older films that became dear to me this year.

1. Berlin: Symphony of a Great City (Walter Ruttmann, 1927)
2. Nói Albínói (Dagur Kári, 2003)
3. It's All About Love (Thomas Vinterberg, 2003)
4. Postcards from the Future: The Chuck Palahniuk Documentary (Joshua Chaplinsky, Kevin Kolsch, 2003)
5. L'Appartement (Gilles Mimouni, 1997)—this moved up after Wicker Park fell off the list.
6. Kes (Ken Loach, 1969)

The most important category—the top 6 films I have watched most frequently this year.
1. Jojo in the Stars (Marc Crasté, 2003) 😍 😍
2. Vincent (Tim Burton, 1982) —honestly, I find myself watching the first two every single day.
3. Fritz the Cat (Ralph Bakshi, 1972)
4. Sword in the Stone (Wolfgang Reitherman, 1963)
5. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead (Tom Stoppard, 1990)
6. Catch-22 (Mike Nichols, 1970)

(Hmm, I seem to watch a lot of nothing but short films and these eccentric pieces...)

Top 2 films that everyone here raves about, yet I simply cannot understand the appeal... 1. Million Dollar Baby 2. Sideways😕

Here are my top films that I believe would make this year's list—assuming I manage to track down the subtitles for them:

1. White Castle Castle

Does anyone here happen to speak Canadian? 😁

ajnjuit 😁 —but regardless, I always end up being the last one left standing when the fake hype dies down. It seems I’ll never quite catch on... sigh. 😬

everything looks identical to what we have here—😬which is precisely why I mentioned someone was cheating...

That does help, actually 😁

Though—looking closely at their diagram with the solutions—there isn't actually an answer for the girl in the bikini, nor for that little shrub at the bottom. They just used red circles instead. Hmm. I just realized those aren't even the official answers...

I realized everyone was whispering—it seems a memo went out to the executives yesterday featuring a photo along with the proposed solutions 😬

At first, I noticed nothing but laughter and people trying to outdo one another—but then came the fury—as if someone actually asked, *wait, who has ever heard of the USPS?*—and in that moment, I felt compelled to step in.

Hey! A triple threat colleague 😍

Carol Jackson45 said:Well, I see your point. I have a close friend who is similarly directionally challenged—it works out quite well, actually. If I need to give her directions while she's driving, I'll tell her to turn right when I'm thinking left, and she'll somehow end up turning left anyway. 😍

That is exactly how it goes for me with my group of friends...

(And then there is the punctuality issue—we will agree to meet at a certain time, only to casually show up at the exact same moment forty-five minutes later. 😍 )

Daniel Bailey7 said:to actually requires closing your eyes—just an observation—to truly grasp how everything relates in space.😬

🤣

I might give this a shot after work today. Just a heads up—stay clear of the main intersections around 5:30 PM.😁

The grand prize at my preschool—awarded for an exceptional level of kindness and exemplary behavior—is getting to sleep in the closet on a pile of stacked cots, specifically those left behind once everyone else has been moved out and settled...

...with the closet doors shut, naturally.😍

Saxophone said:She uses this mnemonic trick—you place your thumb and index finger of your left hand perpendicular to one another, forming an "L" shape from the left side.
That’s helpful, I suppose—but honestly, when things get this massive, needing a memory trick just feels overwhelming!

True—but what am I supposed to do? Am I going to be stuck at every single intersection—say, when someone's trying to navigate me while I'm driving, and they don't realize I need them to actually point *there*—just making an "L" with my left hand? Or should I be doing it while deciding which pen to use, or whatever else comes up? 😬

dzdzihad said:I was quite the troublemaker back in preschool—a bit of an association, if you will. I remember tying the little girls to the radiator. It sounds rebellious now, of course, though the teachers were understandably concerned at the time. Even some of the older staff seemed unsettled by it.

When you say things that cool, I honestly wish I could head straight back to your old preschool.

Melissa Sanchez37 said:3. What does "three quarters of five" actually mean—say, five? Is it 4:15, 5:45, or something else entirely?🤔

I always remember it because the logic seems totally backwards—it really is. "Three quarters of five" would be 4:45. To me, that sounds like it should be 45 minutes *until* five, but—well, no.

That strange way of thinking implies it’s three quarters of the fifth hour. So, 4:45.

🙂

As for the first and second points... I haven't the slightest clue.😕

Susan Clark10 said:Bikini Kill🤣

That was my initial thought—though I feel the "kill" part is missing from the sentiment.😁

And what about this DJ Shadow fellow standing next to her? Three more such instances and I might just lose it. Well, I suppose I have to admitelbow 😁?

Where is that gazelohunter user to give me a little encouragement?😬

Now my colleague has organized everything quite nicely—there should be no more excuses for inefficiency 😁

What is with that mannequin in a bikini in the storefront window?!!!? 🤔

Where did the White Stripes go?

As for Depeche Mode? I'm afraid I'm quite lost. Personally, I've always leaned more toward The Smashing Pumpkins—it's just my thing. : Cheers:
