Why do we watch movies? in Movies ·
I'm Miroslav, and I've got a serious addiction to movies.
Specifically sci-fi stuff...
Why... I've wondered about that plenty of times... It started back when I was just a kid... those sci-fi stories just hooked me, and before I knew it, I was deep in the magic circle... couldn't stop myself... used to hit up the local library for anything sci-fi... watched whatever was on TV, didn't matter if it was trash or a masterpiece... I just had this... need for sci-fi... Nowadays, it's a bit easier... learned a thing or two from my mistakes... Now I only go for the high-quality stuff, real solid sci-fi... but yeah, still an addict and I'm not ashamed to say it... don't ever want to quit...
Anyway, gotta run... got an episode of Heros to catch...

At the end of the day, it's all just trash, just like Mr. Lauer says.

I know all about the trash movies over there and I'm planning on it...
I actually took part in the first one with this film:
CLONE BROTHER WARS

Here’s a little teaser for this movie we’re filming... just a comedy, mostly messing around. We actually started it just to see if we could vibe as a crew and figure out everyone's quirks. It’s almost done now (after a whole year of work)... Once this wraps, we’re moving on to the next one, which is gonna be a bit more serious and experimental...

Sean Brown3 said:I’m wondering if there's any way to actually "make it" in the American film industry without graduating from a top-tier film academy.
I want to direct, but from what I can see, spots at these academies are incredibly limited—and most of them seem to go to people who already have the right connections.

The real question is, how do you define "making it"...
For me, I'm not even looking at the Academy. No shot I'm getting in, and even if I could, I don't have the cash...
But right now, I'm working on a script, I've got actors, a camera crew, and I'm directing. Once the film is done, it goes to festivals—both here in the States and abroad. I couldn't care less about the academy; the film's gonna be good... maybe not perfect, since we're tight on budget...
And yeah...
If you're looking to rake in massive money like someone out of Hollywood, forget about it. Directors around here make about what a Tim Burton gets from a studio just to cover coffee and donuts during a shoot...
Director: Steven Spielberg
Genre: Sci-Fi/Action/Thriller
Cast: Hugh Jackman as Capt. Avory Johnson
Christian Bale as Lieutenant Rio John McKenzie
Hugh Laurie as Major Trip Avoc DeMonc
Amy Smart as Lieutenant Jo Lee-Ann Ocenbash

Sir Ian McKellen as Lord Amoc Di Gera
Gary Oldman as Warder Angier
Monica Bellucci as Princess Morgan Ghou El Avon

Additional Cast...

Runtime: approx. 420 min (about 140 mins per film, trilogy planned)

Tagline:One galaxy... One human race... Divided by lust... For immortality...

Plot Outline: Set in the year 2245. The Galactic Empire is split right down the middle. The immortals are obsessed with finding tech to cement their eternal rule over everything. Meanwhile, those living under them just want peace and a chance to expand through spirit and intellect. Capt. Avory Johnson is out on a mission to track down an ancient relic... something that could actually stop Lord Amoc Di Gera from seizing total control...
Script and Shot List in Movies ·
TL;DR:
I need a tutorial on how to actually write a screenplay and a shooting script...
I've always just done things my own way and everyone was fine with it, but I've finally written a solid story, and now I need to get a script out to some people. Anyone got a guide or maybe a link to a good tutorial?
Tyler Price3 said:I'm totally on board. Me and my buddies make short films and we actually need an actor—hit me up if you're interested...

Just throwing it out there... anyone down for an amateur filmmaking subforum?
By the way, I also make amateur films.
Star Wars
A little parody of Star Wars
Deflated Candle Teasare Parodj
Just some sci-fi comedy stuff we're working on. This is basically just a teaser to give you an idea of what the final product might look like...
Space and Slavonian Ship
A short experimental piece about finding a ship lost in deep space...

Anyway, you can check out link to see some of my other short clips and 3D animations too.

The mods really should open up a subforum for indie filmmakers and amateur projects. It would be cool if we could help each other out. Like, if someone needs an actor, a camera, a location, or just a solid idea... we could all connect here...
Help with arthritis! in Health ·
Cut it back, man! Just trim it... don't let it spread too far, or you might start seeing some premature aging issues. Better to nip it in the bud now than be popping Viagra later. 🙂
Honestly though, I’m probably overthinking it. You should probably just check in with a doctor to be safe... they know this stuff better than I do and can actually recommend a real treatment.

Anyone there?
Look, if you aren't using Blender, maybe you're modeling or animating in something else... anyone got a portfolio or a gallery to show off?
And seriously, is nobody in the whole US even touching Blender? Man...

Been messing around with modeling and animation for a bit now... mainly just sticking to Blender www.blender.org. Anyone else here using it?
You can check out some of my stuff over at http://www.freewebs.com/miroslav/3dartgallery.htm.
If you're also into it, maybe we could swap some tips or something...
