You don't necessarily have to fly to the States to get that tiny YouTube nose; I've seen enough photos from local surgeons here to know they can pull it off just fine. Everything is going well on my end. I haven't had any real pain, and it’s already day five—they took the packing out on the second day. The swelling is finally starting to go down, so now I'm just counting down the days until I can actually see the final result. It was kind of funny when I was coming out of anesthesia; they told me, "It's done, you have a beautiful little new nose!" It actually reminded me of how people react during childbirth, where everyone keeps saying, "It's over! You've got a beautiful baby boy!" 😂🤣
Good grief, stormyharbor2, where on earth did you find these before and after shots? They look terrible! I guess that surgeon really did a subpar job...😢 My nose feels congested again, though I can still pick up this weird smell coming from the cast.🤣
He didn't even bother asking my permission because I was the one who brought up the idea of getting a lift in the first place. So, whatever needs to happen to make it a reality—I'm all in. I guess the end justifies the means.🙂It’s been four days since my surgery, and honestly, breathing through my nose isn't an issue at all. It's not a struggle or anything, I just look pretty rough right now. It’s kind of hard to wrap your head around going in for a purely cosmetic procedure only to end up looking like you got run over by a freight train.😉😉
It doesn't matter, just ask away. I'm honestly glad I can help someone out, since this whole topic helped me a ton during my own situation. Zachary Nguyen29 and I both saw the same surgeon, and it’s the same deal when they cut into that muscle. Your lips and your smile feel totally foreign for a while, but I guess it all passes. My whole face feels a bit distorted right now, but I take a photo every single day just to track how the recovery is actually moving along. And if you're wondering if I'd do it all over again? Absolutely! 🙂
@Zachary Nguyen29 - yeah, I feel the same way. Thinking about construction tools breaking bones sounds way worse than cutting through muscle, so I don't really get why everyone is panicking about this...🙂 anyway... your signature is actually pretty great 😍
Can someone point me toward a good dentist in the area? Specifically for cosmetic work in Los Angeles... I heard there's a place called Star over near Mihaljevac that’s supposed to be the best. Basically, I just want to touch up my two front teeth since they aren't perfectly straight. It doesn't seem worth dropping 15 $0.00 on permanent braces and having to deal with them for years. Thanks!
Yeah, I know most people were pretty against trimming that part, but personally, it didn't bother me. I knew that was what the doctor intended to do, so I just went along with it. It’s such beautiful weather outside, yet here I am, stuck in bed... if anyone saw me looking like this, they might actually get scared.😂...... stormyharbor2, did you ever make a final call on going through with the surgery or...?😍
stormyharbor2 said:😢 That muscle trimming above the lip sounds pretty intense to me, I guess.
🤣 So, I guess they finally stepped outside?😁
I don't really see the point. Once you're under anesthesia, what they actually do doesn't matter much, I guess. As long as you don't feel anything and the end result turns out okay, that's all that counts.
Regarding my lips, I have this feeling they look huge, though when I catch my reflection, they actually seem smaller than usual. It might just be that the area where the muscle was cut is really hard and swollen. My cheeks feel a bit puffy too, almost like I’m hiding something in them... I feel like Quasimodo!😢
I finally figured out what’s going on with my lips—I bit the inside of my mouth and now everything is just swollen... that's why I look like this. I have a feeling this is going to drag on for a good couple of weeks.
@stormyharbor2/">@@stormyharbor2: You'll definitely get some painkillers, everyone does, and you can probably pick up some heparin over the counter at a CVS without a prescription.
my mouth feels like it belongs to a heavyweight boxer after a rough fight.
It’s probably a little too late to stop the swelling now; I already dealt with that back at the clinic... but what’s actually worrying me is that my lips have almost vanished. It feels like they're half the size and much thinner than before, and my eyes are all puffy, kind of like a raccoon's.🤷...what happened to my lips? Where did they go?? I guess my whole face looks a bit distorted right now, but maybe it's better if I just avoid looking in the mirror for a while.....
Just pulled the swabs out—nothing too crazy. Now I’m just waiting for the mold to come off to see what kind of surprise is waiting for me... honestly, it hasn't been much of a drama. They give you some painkillers and everything is fine, though it looks pretty gnarly if you end up with bruises like I did. It’s giving me major 'purple smokey eyes' vibes right now... hehe😉
I'm getting ready to have my tampon removed now, and honestly, I haven't felt any pain yet, so there's probably nothing to worry about. My bones feel kind of achy even though I don't have a huge fever. I'll let you know how it goes once they're out. Even having them in isn't as bad as some people make it sound; for me, it just feels a bit like having a cold. Sleeping on my back was a little tricky—I spent half the night awake and the other half asleep—but it was alright.
I just got home from surgery to start my recovery. Honestly, I look a bit rough right now—kind of like I stepped out of a boxing ring with all these bruises—but surprisingly, I’m not in any pain. I have to change my dressings in the morning, and the nurses were taking good care of me while I was still at the hospital today... I guess it's hard to say how the whole thing will go, but I should know more in about seven days. If anyone has questions about anything specific, feel free to ask. 🙂
Hey ladies... thanks for all the support. I'm up and ready to go... heading in for my surgery now! Hopefully everything goes smoothly today. That's all for now... hugs to everyone!!
rustygardener172, thanks, I hope everything turns out alright 🙂 I'll let you know how it goes, don't worry—as soon as I'm up for it, haha Everyone seems to be hovering around me and they're already picturing me on that operating table, but for some reason, it all feels surreal, like it's happening to someone else. I guess I just hope the reality finally hits once I actually get there.
That’s kind of the point—some women on here mentioned they worked everything out directly with their doctors, only for it to turn into a total disaster...
Personally, I think this doctor is great when we talk; he actually listens and understands me. But reading all these horror stories gives me a bit of anxiety. I guess maybe this forum isn't always the best guide, who knows? Another doctor I spoke with—Alexander Milenović—actually told me, "If you spend too much time reading forums, you're heading for trouble."
Yeah... but I really want nose surgery. It’s something I’ve wanted forever, and I think I’ve given myself plenty of time to sit with the idea. I’ve been talking about doing this since I was just a kid.
It feels like there isn't a perfect doctor out there; everyone makes mistakes in their field, but since we're talking about surgery, nobody really wants to be one of those mistakes.
Well, it's pretty much decided now; I'm headed in for surgery in three days. I suppose all I can do is hope for the best and stay off that list of unfortunate cases. And yes—they all follow this forum, so they definitely know what's being said about them.
I finally finished reading this entire thread from start to finish, and honestly, I’m just shocked and a little spooked by how much negativity is in here. It seems like half the women paid a fortune for rhinoplasty results that look nothing like them... I don't want to be one of those people crying over old photos because I don't have a massive nose, just some minor things I'd like fixed. I'm not really sure what to make of any of this.🤷
