So, I went ahead and upgraded this ancient rig from Windows 7 build 7264 x86 over to the RTM x86 version, and honestly, everything seems to be running smooth as silk except for one tiny, incredibly annoying little detail: I can't actually run most of the stuff I download from the web. It just keeps spitting back errors like "bla bla bla is not a valid Win32 application," which is just great, and to top it all off, I can't even get a single torrent to download because it claims every single one is an invalid torrent file.

Awesome, I finally got XP mode installed and honestly, it’s running like a dream.

Does anyone know of a virtualization tool that lets me run Vista or XP in a separate window right inside Windows 7? I’ve got this one essential program that just refuses to cooperate with the OS, so I need a workaround.
And just so we're clear, I am absolutely not interested in VMware; that software is a total disaster, honestly—there are somehow a million different versions out there, and I've wasted my time downloading a mountain of them and various trials, yet not a single one actually works.

So, has anyone actually found a fix for this whole CoD4 PunkBuster nightmare yet? I’m running Windows 7 RC at the moment, and honestly, I haven't even touched CoD4 in ages just because of this damn PunkBuster mess and how Windows 7 handles things.

Someone just dropped build 7077 on TL about half an hour ago, but now I’m seeing people over there tossing around version 7105—is that some kind of prank or what?

I went ahead and installed build 7068, and honestly, everything was looking pretty slick until—surprise, surprise—that same old xfire glitch from build 6801 decided to show up again. I fire up xfire, click on a username, and boom, there’s just this blank white space off to the side. Does anyone actually have a fix for this? Because if not, I'm kind of at a loss here, and frankly, I really don't have the patience or the desire to go through the whole nightmare of reinstalling a different version of Windows.

I guess I'll just go ahead and install it; if it turns out to be a fake, then seeing a 7068 score isn't exactly the end of the world, but if it’s actually legit, even better.

😢, I actually already grabbed it. Are you positive it’s a fake just because I didn't pull it from some sketchy site like The Pirate Bay or whatever? I got it through some private trackers instead.

Quick question—is there actually a fix for this annoying PunkBuster kick issue (that "unknown windows api 131131" error) on Windows 7? I haven't touched CoD in ages—just played some CoD5 back in the day—but now I'm trying to get back into it on my Windows 7 machine (Build 7000), and PB keeps kicking me because of some API glitch.

What’s your take on just sticking with Windows XP? I mean, Windows Vista is a massive step up, and honestly, Windows 7 is even better still.

I don't know, man, I feel a massive sense of relief now that I’ve finally ditched Windows Vista for Windows 7, especially compared to that whole painful transition from Windows XP to Vista; it honestly feels lightning fast by comparison. Back when I was stuck on Vista, every single time I tried to close a game, I’d be forced to sit there staring at my screen for a good two minutes just waiting for the entire OS to stop choking and actually return to some semblance of normalcy.

I’ve got nearly 60 of them running, which is just great :O—using up about 1.15GB of RAM. I’ve managed to kill off maybe five services so far, but honestly, does anyone actually know which ones are safe to shut down without breaking everything?
On another note, I’m dealing with this massive headache when it comes to gaming. I can't seem to set any resolution lower than the default 1680x1050; I mean, I *can* technically select something else, but then I get these hideous black bars around the edges because the image won't stretch to fill the screen, making everything look absolutely disgusting. It’s probably a driver issue since I'm currently running an NVIDIA beta specifically for Windows 7, but is there actually a fix for this? And would it even be possible to just install the standard drivers for 64-bit Windows Vista instead?

I bumped my Vista up to the beta this week, and honestly, everything is running just fine. This OS absolutely kicks Vista's ass—it’s a massive step up. I’m loving the whole experience; the speed boost is actually noticeable, and I’m genuinely looking forward to when the final version finally drops.

Just finished the movie, and honestly, I thought it was great—especially that woman from India.
