Hannah Reed3 said:Just so you know, I know this woman very well—I actually went to school with her husband. She had to have a C-section because she’s extremely petite, and her last pregnancy ended in a C-section too, just 15 months ago. She knew a surgical delivery was likely this time around. Her due date wasn't until late February, so there was no rush to get to San Francisco, but the little guy decided he was ready to make his entrance early. On top of that, giving birth on Maui is out of the question since they shut down our local maternity ward eight years ago. Honestly, even a standard delivery on Maui isn't an option anymore because we don't even have operating rooms for C-sections. So, there you have it—just another example of the "perks" of island life.
I know there isn't a full hospital on Maui, but you're telling me there isn't even a clinic capable of performing a C-section? ??????!!!!!!! That is absolutely pathetic!!!
It didn't happen in the middle of the ocean, but it could have. Take a look at this:
I honestly don't get how they thought this was a good idea. What if they hadn't made it in time? Imagine having to give birth in a glider during a hurricane with six-foot swells hitting the hull. It makes no sense. Is childbirth really so complicated that it can't be handled at home, forcing them to rush to a hospital in a glider and risk the lives of the baby and four adults on a boat?
Maybe if someone throws a handful of beans at you, you might actually land on a decent diagnosis by sheer luck. 😉
Look, it doesn't work like that. Thank God it doesn't. Gather all your lab results and go get a second opinion. You need a diagnostician who actually has miles of experience under their belt.
A bunch of supposedly "expert" doctors have weighed in, and yet we're still getting nowhere. 😢
Of course, I wasn't suggesting that an MRI or something similar provides a pinpoint diagnosis. My point was using them to identify which area of the body is malfunctioning so further targeted testing can be done.
The nightmare with neurological issues is that the root cause could be anywhere. For instance, poor circulation could mean certain areas aren't getting enough blood, causing the pituitary gland or some other brain center to malfunction even if there's no visible damage, tumor, or inflammation in that specific spot. Or say you have a misaligned spine, and a pinched nerve affects a completely different part of the body. It goes on and on...
I once had a neurologist tell me you could run 100 tests and see absolutely nothing, only for the 101st test to finally reveal the truth. That’s why I thought about streamlining the process—using an MRI or some kind of full-body scanner to pinpoint where the trouble might be lurking, assuming such a machine exists, of course.
I’ve used an AMS scanner twice myself, and both times it flagged my health issues perfectly. Now, I hear some people claiming the whole thing is junk and totally inaccurate. I guess it just depends on the individual case.
Does anyone know of another device out there that scans the entire body and can pinpoint exactly where the issue lies? We have someone dealing with neurological problems who just can't find the root cause. Doctors have run CT scans and MRIs on their head, but everything comes back clear.
Is it possible to get a full-body MRI, or perhaps use some other kind of scanning technology that covers the whole organism? If the source of these neurological issues is located somewhere else, then these narrow, targeted exams are just shots in the dark—at least in this specific situation.
A disabled veteran was arrested by officers without badges or warrants. They stormed his yard and dragged him away brutally, without providing a single shred of explanation.
This is living proof of the kind of politicians we have and the state we’re stuck in. This needs to be blasted all over the internet so everyone can see exactly what kind of scum is running our government.
A little girl from Šibenik has been diagnosed with a rare condition called "Sarcoma." The cost of treatment in the States is just way too high for her parents to handle on their own. They’re reaching out to good people to help pull together what they need.
P.S. Sorry for posting this in the Off-Topic section, but this is an absolute emergency. We need to get this in front of as many people as possible to save a young life.
I ended up breaking a bone in my leg. I’m looking to schedule a follow-up appointment just to see if it's actually knitting back together properly. The doctor gave me the usual vague answer—that some people heal fast while others lag behind depending on their overall health, calcium intake, and who knows what else.
Is there a specific type of imaging that can actually show the degree of healing? I know an X-ray will show if the bone was fractured or displaced, but I have no idea if it can show how much progress has been made. I need to know if I can start walking again without the risk of snapping it all over again.
Oh, please, it hasn't even been 100 years. 🙂 That’s just a figure of speech. This actually happened maybe 20 or 30 years ago. My uncle bought some land from his neighbor, but they were being sneaky—they wrote into the contract that he was only buying the right of possession (just the entry in the local land registry) specifically to dodge paying taxes. On the official deed, the neighbor still showed up as the owner.
Then my uncle says he doesn't even want to transfer the title to himself because he has no use for the land; he wants it to go straight to his niece. So, my uncle and his neighbor went to see a notary public, where the neighbor signed a sales agreement stating he was selling it directly to the niece. Her name is listed there as the buyer, but the space where her signature should be is completely blank since she wasn't even present at the notary's office.
That’s why I thought she could just tell the IRS that she never signed anything, that she wasn't even there, and that the whole thing was done behind her back. She could claim she has no intention of paying taxes or registering the property.
My friend has a contract for a land purchase sitting right in front of her, and she hasn't signed a single thing yet. That is... It was land owned by my uncle. He bought it, sure, but he never actually transferred the title into his own name—he just left it sitting there. He dropped the cash and bailed—as if his only goal was to make sure the whole damn town knew he was the one who bought it.
So then my uncle told the guy he bought the land from a hundred years ago that no... He isn't even writing that in his own name. He’s putting it all under his niece's name instead. It's just him and that uncle of hers pulling strings behind the scenes. The seller went straight to Billings with the contract in hand, where they’re actually finalizing the sale. God bless Ivanna—she’s the granddaughter of that man who handed it all over a century ago. Money is flying out the window, and she wasn't even in the room when Billings was making those calls. It’s ridiculous. He only verified it with the seller's signature and said they'd send that contract over to us later. Just take her down to Cleveland where my niece is located. She can get everything signed and notarized there by someone else. Billings.
So, what’s the actual issue here? The problem is that my niece refuses to get her name on the deed. They’ll grab the land just to pay off the property taxes, but don't expect them to actually build anything. They can't even get a project off the ground right now if they tried. Building out there? Honestly, if she starts construction, the IRS is going to come knocking before the foundation is even poured. They’ll find any excuse to pin that tax bill on her, especially since she operates like... well, you know how it goes. Is a buyer actually bound by that contract, or can they just play the "I didn't sign that" card? "I didn't intend to buy it, so I'm not paying the tax"? Is that really how this works? Give me a break. Or will the IRS just grab her by the throat regardless?
Hey everyone. I’m looking for a new gym in the flu area. Right now, I’m hitting up Gold's Gym (which used to be Olympus), but they’ve gutted the equipment selection, the cardio machines are falling apart, and the AC is basically non-existent.
So, I want to know if there are any decent gyms out there. I don't mind paying a premium, as long as the facility actually works and isn't constantly packed with people.
I heard about Radman over in the Blatina neighborhood—apparently, it used to be the gold standard for the city. What’s the vibe there lately? Any other solid options in that area or nearby?
Every single one of these "specialists" is a total fraud. You've got government doctors who are either clueless or just lazy, and then you have the private clinics that exist solely to bleed you dry—they aren't interested in curing you quickly, they're interested in keeping you coming back for more.
I’ve heard there’s a clinic called Light in Washington, D.C. What other clinics are operating in the area? I want to dig into their service offerings and see how they actually run things.
I also heard about a solid eye clinic over in Vienna, but I’m not sure if they perform surgeries on-site or if they just do the initial exams before sending patients to Vienna for the actual procedure. Does anyone know the name of that specific Viennese eye clinic?
My five-and-a-half-year-old kid just got bitten by a tiger mosquito, and he's already breaking out in a rash. Heads up, guys—there’s a massive red patch behind the ear, and it looks swollen. He’s already on antibiotics. Klavocin? This allergy med is useless. It’s just some ointment or cream that does absolutely nothing. It doesn't even reduce the symptoms, let alone fix them. It’s getting worse. His doctor told him he was bitten by a tiger mosquito this summer, too. Mosquitoes, and all those doctors didn't have a clue what they were dealing with. They actually thought it was leukemia. So, he was stuck in isolation at the infectious disease ward, then spent about ten days sleeping through the entire day. After that... Some old doctor finally figured out it might be a tiger mosquito. Since you... Mosquitoes come from Africa or wherever else they crawl out of, so the real question is: what kind of diseases are they actually carrying? They're spreading. It eventually wore off for him, though. Mom's swelling hasn't gone down yet. It’s actually getting worse—well, slowly, but it is definitely increasing. It’s only a few centimeters in diameter now.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be? Are there any known illnesses or specific situations that cause this? Has anyone dealt with tiger mosquitoes before? They’re causing absolute chaos lately. Does anyone have any actual experience with this?
