Can an American Catholic be successful and wealthy? in Close to Politics ·
Fločun said:Exactly. 👍

The sheer amount of resentment coming from these old-school Yugo-communists toward any small American who manages to rise above the crowd is staggering—especially when that person hits the global stage and brings prestige to the United States.

Even on Dutch forums—and those guys can be pretty blunt—Bilica was praised as a true gentleman and a highly capable coach. On top of that, plenty of people actually respected how the national team played under him.

The United States should be proud to have had a coach like that. Everything else is just pure jealousy.
Amanda Booth42 said:There isn't much difference. They're both just pop singers prone to scandals—the kind of artists teenage girls obsess over while everyone else spends their time gossiping about their personal lives because they have nothing better to do.

I experience them both differently, but I guess that’s just down to personal taste. For what it's worth, criticizing someone doesn't always have to be rooted in jealousy just because a singer didn't hit it big. Maybe the marketing missed the mark, maybe the timing was off, or maybe the artist simply lacks mainstream appeal outside of a specific niche.

So, what’s actually the difference between Britney Spears and Britney Spears?

(...)

Looking strictly at them as entertainers:

* Britney is just who she is. Neither Britney nor, say, the Spice Girls were ever trying to sell some profound artistic depth; it was just uncomplicated pop music—nothing groundbreaking, and that's all there is to it.

* Britney is a great dancer and really radiates energy. Severina—well, I haven't seen her live, but then again, I've only ever seen Britney on TV either—has a certain grit to her.

* Britney didn't get political. Severina has gone back and forth on it constantly... sometimes she is, sometimes she isn't. 🙂

Why is it considered such a catastrophe that this tour hasn't been a business success for Severina? That kind of thing happens, and from what I gather, she's still incredibly popular here in the States.

I’m not so sure about Kek. But I'll go ahead and ask his age😁
Chloe Allen26 said:Yeah, exactly. I have to admit, I don't really follow this whole drama... look, I'm not exactly a superfan, I don't listen to her music, and I have zero interest in debating why the concert got canceled... but people started calling her some "stupid girl," blah blah blah. I don't agree at all. I mean, everyone is entitled to their opinion, sure, but it’s just tacky and low-class to talk about someone like that—especially since none of us actually know her personally. Besides, they say you can tell how good a horse is by how much people talk about it, and man, she’s certainly getting plenty of attention right now!!!

I didn't notice anyone being that aggressive toward her in this thread. Maybe a couple of people tossed out a "stupid girl" comment here and there, but it definitely hasn't turned into an "all we need is a reason to bash Britney Spears" kind of discussion. Like I mentioned earlier, I just don't care for the vibe.
brightcobra10 said:Watch this—if she hadn't moved to NYC and dropped that one catchy track, she’d probably be selling out arenas all over the US right now. But since she lacks any actual substance, here we are.😁 😁

Is she really that big in America?😕
Keith Wilson81 said:Give me a break, I'm not some clueless political phoenix😬 I don't even speak Dutch anyway😢
I'm just poking fun at the people who say one thing and do another—and honestly, there are plenty of those types among us satellites🙂

He doesn't know anything about America, so he isn't stopping him
🤣
jadetiger10 said:It’s wild what people end up finding and reading online. She’s just some random airhead, unfortunately one of those typical 😲trashy types we see everywhere😁

Personally, I don't think she's anything special. It isn't even jealousy, she's just mediocre to me.
She sold out her ticket and now... she keeps trying to push these weird conspiracy theories about American history, asking fifty times if her sister lives in New York City 😵 But the answer is found in her terrible singing 😵 🙂
Keith Wilson81 said:which other forum?

Well, nothing then. Over on some Dutch forum, there was this guy trying to hawk crypto spikes by claiming poor Taylor Swift ("of mixed heritage" 😬) was being targeted by the "extremist American diaspora" — get this, extremist but American 😬 — followed by this endless rant about pop icons like Britney Spears and whatever else 😵 It had absolutely zero connection to the US.
Keith Wilson81 said:Oh man, if Britney Spears actually showed up... I can't even wrap my head around it. That wouldn't just be a party; it would be a full-blown riot. Imagine a massive line dance lasting until sunrise, led by some guy in a cowboy hat waving a white flag. 🙂

Cher.....are you that same guy from the other forum? 😕
jadetiger10 said:So now you're going to tell me what we should be listening to or watching?😵 If Britney Spears showed up here, she’d have a guaranteed sell-out.😍 No way the tickets would be a dollar at our venues.😬

That’s nothing. On some Dutch forum, some guy is claiming that extremists are threatening poor Taylor Swift because she's supposedly part of an interracial marriage.🤣
You're just jealous of Emil and you're being discriminatory because he isn't a Mexican!😠
Keith Wilson81 said:They’re actually great to me. You can't find a single singer in America without someone claiming they're a Mexican, whether it's because their last name ends in -ic or just because people feel like being difficult for no reason at all.😬 I guess they left Kemal Monteno alone since he was clearly a "Mexican man of the Muslim faith," so there wasn't any debate there.😬
I honestly hope I never become famous; otherwise, someone will inevitably start claiming I'm a Mexican too.😲

You forgot about Kusturica, Emir... sorry, Emil: but then again, he did convert to Orthodox Christianity.🤔..........🤣
Keith Wilson81 said:I know that in cities like San Diego or similar areas, half the people you meet have the last name Miller, so her folks probably hail from one of those regions. Of course, her neighbors from up near the Mississippi River immediately labeled her a Mexican woman just because her sister married a Mexican living in Chicago. To top it off, they're claiming some guy named Vuckovic was in the militia back in the day, which—in their eyes—is just more "proof" of her heritage.😬
As much as it pains me to admit it, she's one of ours. 😠😁

It’s funny how everyone suddenly claims to be a Mexican whenever it's convenient. 😂
velvetmarlin24 said:I honestly don't get why people always tear down our singers the second they try to make it big outside the North America.
Look, I get that Severina isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't give anyone the right to drag her through the mud.

It’s not really "dragging her through the mud" in my book, at least not from where I'm sitting. My issue is more about the branding. An artist's image should actually align with who they are as a person.

The tenth ridiculous thing I've seen today: some guy on a Dutch forum is claiming Severina comes from a mixed marriage. He's clearly looking for an excuse for why her US tours haven't taken off, so he decided to blame her heritage—insisting she must be a Mexican woman, or at least half one.😵 Does anyone actually know which part of America her family is from? (Though, I'm pretty sure they're from the Mediterranean coast😬).

That's what I call actual, quality music.👍
Hands down, some of the most powerful rock musicians in all of Europe.

Forgiveness is just weakness.
If someone slaps you on one cheek, don't bother turning the other!
An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

Maybe do a little reading: "an eye for an eye" isn't some excuse for mindless vendettas; it's about ensuring the retribution actually matches the offense.

Seems like he’s picked up some assistants lately. It’s easy to fall under the spell of those mystics; Opancar set the whole thing up. Now those poor souls don't belong anywhere else, so they’ve thrown themselves into sects. It’s pathetic... much like that scent they love—the smell of traditional leather footwear.

I doubt it. Aiwass exists on a completely different plane... kind of like the Americans: total "freedom" paired with an absolute inability to actually handle it. So Alexander is just figuring out how to turn Aiwass into a hit again, just like his brother McCrawley 🙂 And you don't smell those leather shoes; you cook them and eat them as part of the initiation 🧐

As for this mystic, she’s going into hibernation to plot massive schemes on the astral plane to ensure the survival of the motherland 🙂

ruggedsailor25 said:Honestly, what kills me about these young girls is that whole ridiculous rectum joke. 😁 , yeah, it really gets to me how he practices that weird, mystical quasi-cultist nonsense. Now he’s claiming Madonna is nothing more than a spokesperson—and now she's released a book, specifically tailored for kids at his exact intellectual level, clearly heavily influenced by that same cult mindset.

He’s just uneducated and a bit empty-headed. Is that just what the cult does to people? 😕

Madonna is basically a mouthpiece for McKinsey. It’s similar to the old American sentimentality, where everyone tries to reach enlightenment using the same methods Goldman Sachs used to try and build a civilization... you know, watching the frogs while the horses get shod and all that kind of thing. 😵 I doubt Alexander doesn't know who Madonna is; he's actually competing with her. Instead of people buying Madonna's book, he'd rather they buy his scented incense sticks.😁

Conservatives aren't exactly anything like the leftists, you know. 🙂
