If I reinstall GomPlayer, the guy won't even play DVDs without begging for more codecs—so I let him, he finds whatever junk he needs, I install everything, but nothing—it just shuts itself down. It’s like it’s embarrassed it can't work—kind of like how some people act when they can't get it up and just feel awkward about it. 🙂 ).
Found a fix—you gotta go into the preferences and tweak the color format. For some reason, it looks way better to me when I set it to "N/A" in VLC Media Player. I guess it’s the same deal with everything else, too—probably just how my graphics card was set up from the jump, since even the desktop wallpaper looks wonky when I mess with the settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Thomas Hernandez21 said:For the first part, just grab GOM Player and use that for everything. As for the second issue—there's no easy fix since even when you get it running, it performs like crap (everything is super laggy)—you could try setting up a virtual machine with Windows XP or just install a newer version.
GOM Player doesn't help—it's the same garbage as the rest, and honestly, neither does VLC. Only DivX player actually works.

It worked for some programs—not all, I guess—but for the ones I actually need, it did the trick. Thanks.
I'm having this annoying issue when playing videos—the screen just goes black. I've tried everything, really... installed K-lite codecs, BSP, even used Windows Media Player, but the picture is still basically pitch black. I have no clue where I messed up, so if anyone has a tip, let me know.
Also, I've got some older software like AutoCAD 2007, and every single time I try to run it, I get those pop-ups asking if I want to run an unknown program. It’s driving me insane—it happens with so many apps too. Any way to just "convince" the system to stop messing with me?
Back when I was running XP, my graphics card showed up as having 1GB, but now on Windows 7, it’s telling me 512 MB. Is there some kind of catch here—has anyone else dealt with something similar?

Jack Price34 said:It's all just—well, it's just constant filler. "Like," "you know," "so," "basically"... and they always use those weirdly formal phrases when they shouldn't. Like saying "one seeks" instead of just asking for someone's number. 🙏 For example, "The XYZ Corporation seeks your contact information." 🤣 Just sounds ridiculous.
And don't forget the overused "it was stolen" too!!!
Honestly, this whole thing about kicking servers out of their shoes is getting ridiculous. I mean, maybe we should just hand out some permanent bans to these most frequent posters—just to lighten the load on the server and, I don't know, let the forum actually get some fresh blood for once.😬
I thought this topic was pretty interesting—I’ve been lurking and reading the posts without jumping in, but it was only a matter of time before I weighed in. I don't really see the issue with a thread having a bit of a bloggy feel; honestly, there are plenty of threads on this forum that the admins seem perfectly fine with. Still, you have to follow the rules, and I guess it’s hard to know where to draw the line between something that's just good reading and something that actually breaks the strict guidelines here. Anyway, the subject caught my eye was.

Yeah, sure—we’ll just magically fix our spelling overnight since we've been getting by just fine without it for years.

The Dallas Cowboys wide receiver—yeah, he won the Super Bowl back in '72. He grabbed gold in Tokyo in '64 for both the 100m (as a WR) and the 4x100.
Back then, 70 guys ran under 10s, plus another 8 hit exactly 10s flat.
He’s definitely the one—the article mentioned how rare it is for someone to sweep the top prizes in two different sports. I seem to recall it saying he clocked something faster than 9.70, though I can't quite remember why that wasn't an official record.
If 70 people are running sub-10, imagine how many others have actually tried...😍
Chris White14 said:So, I'll just add one thing. Bolt's numbers are insane—though obviously, results like that always bring up the doping talk. But that's a whole other debate. Still, hitting sub-10 in the 100m is still the benchmark—if you can run under 10, you’ve got a shot at a medal at the World Championships or the Olympics. You don't need to go sub-9.60 just to get on the podium. It's kind of like ski jumping. Everyone knows the 200m mark was blown through ages ago and the record is sitting at 239m, but people still obsess over that 200m "magic number." And as for 6.2 miles, that 25-minute mark is just a random number, really. Nothing more.
True, and people still talk about how Powell is the guy who has clocked sub 10 s more than anyone else. Does anyone actually know how many people have ever officially run under 10 seconds in history? Also, does anyone know anything about that guy they called "Bullet"—he was an American football player and a world champ in the 100m. I think I read somewhere that maybe 30 or 40 years ago he was running a 9.69 or something like that?
This guy was messing with me for a whole month—I mean, seriously—until I finally realized what he was actually tapping on my window. I honestly thought it was just some crazy fans throwing pebbles at my house.😍

Just go at it then—you curse him, he curses you back.
